  1. Not sure how I glossed over this one... The Stonehenge-ish entry is pretty sweet, but that guy chopping the tree is gonna need a bigger axe!
  2. I would've gone with tan for the desks and white for the paper. I felt like sleeping a lot in my language classes too
  3. As others have said, that tree on top of the fountain is pretty cool
  4. This is awesome. The buggy (truck?) looks both fast and beefy--the low-ish profile is really selling that combination. And the red base is a pleasant change of pace from the typical earth tones. Can I ask what the background is? That's also a pleasant change of pace from white...
  5. the tree looked like any other normal, classic, stratified tree; but, this + this made a really big difference. The assassin is a hungry Wolfpack member Forest Life
  6. A free build for Mitgardia, and one with no snow! http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=76376
  7. Here's a freebuild for Mitgardia that also happens to be a CCCX entry. Odd how that happens... Two Mitgardians take a break for lunch in the southern forests. Mikkel caught a frog for the meal, but will the two adventurers be able to eat in peace? Set: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mrcp6d/sets/72157632093019636/
  8. The dark brown on top of reddish brown is gorgeous in the half timber section and I like how you did the snow on the roofs. Good luck in CCCX!
  9. This is a really fun idea, especially since FX had How to Train Your Dragon running last night here in the U.S. Where did that grey forestman's hat come from?
  10. Lovely gondola, sweet dirt path, great idea with the terrace/leaves, and I'm liking the curved canal wall too! I do wish there was some way to hide those cracks in the 'sidewalk' though.
  11. That's a very interesting way to 'round' the corners. I'll certainly have to try it!
  12. Loving that coat/hat rack! Nice build overall too
  13. Same here lol The rubber band usage is interesting though. I've been trying to come up with a way to get more snow on those pine trees than just the single 1x1 round we've all been using. Might have to get me some of them...
  14. This is amazing! I'm really liking how much height you've crammed on what's really not all that much real estate. Oh, and that waterfall... is there any SNOT in there or is it all studs up?
  15. That Dovahkiin looks hungry! I like your take on the thin pine trees. i was worried that using 1x1 rounds would make the trunks look too thick, clearly I was worried about nothing.
  16. Antonio: I think I saw the tail first here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=381795; and he's got a bunch of other great castle stuff in the other folders Izzo has some great small-ish dragon heads and bodies here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=237558
  17. Thanks guys! Of course you can. I'm not one to lay claim to any building technique or whatnot--there are far too many of us building around the world for me to believe that I'm (or anyone really) the first to come up with something. I know saw the tail technique somewhere a while back; I'll see if I can dig up that and some more of my 'inspiration' stuff for the dragon. No way I would have been able to come up with a name for this guy, I'm not that creative. But I'll run with it!
  18. Here's a little build I threw together a while ago while I was still lurking Thread link: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=76101
  19. A free build for Mitgardia A band of explorers traverse the mountains in search of forgotten dwarven ruins. Along the way they encounter many fine specimens of local wildlife, some easier to eat than others... This was actually my first Guild build. Got the pictures taken right before tearing it apart for my Challenge V MOC, which pretty much depleted my supply of white curved slopes. More pics: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mrcp6d/sets/72157631979334064/
  20. This is pretty cool! I like the rope ladder, never seen the droid arms used like that before; the horizontal LURP (Little Ugly Rock Piece?); and the half timber structure coming out of the rock is a fun idea. I do think the yellow window in that section could really use some red shutters, and maybe a different color for the panes.
  21. Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm not sure my photography is all that good yet, but it is kind of amazing what 2 sheets of posterboard and the editing software from your camera can do for you--although 2 sheets wasn't quite enough, that exposed corner is bugging me.... I haven't looked yet, but is there a thread around here with photo taking tips?
  22. I love how imposing this is, but a tad bit more detail on the tower would have been good in my opinion. As Ecclesiastes said, another row of arrow slits or perhaps these: for the sides of the arrow slits to add more depth? (pic from peeron) A small thing though, again, the beefiness is great.
  23. Those little Anubis/sphinx things are fantastic. I'll have to remember that if I'm ever in the mood to dig Johnny Thunder out of the giant lego box quicksand he disappeared into...
