  1. Very, very awesome. I think I'll try to work this tribe in when building in Nochty.... Well played!
  2. Anybody familiar with these? It's from CapeMadness on BrickLink: http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=dingraham Might be good to have some extra insulation when winter sets in...
  3. Thanks guys, with it still being pretty warm in Texas, I thought I'd break out of the snowscapes and try to show off some of the diversity of the Mitgardian land. Nope, they're bugs - big nasty dragonflies Me too. Next Bricklink order will probably have 20-ish small leaf pieces! (and some palm leaves so I can build in Kaliphlin ) I grew up on minifig faces that were pretty monochomatic and always smiling. I love the variety we've been given in recent years, and have used some of the other faces in other MOCs. Legs are from Bricklink...
  4. Good afternoon guys and gals! I'll be remaining in Mitgardia for Book II and am looking forward to discovering what happens this year.
  5. The general consensus is spot on--the olive green bits and clear plates work really well here.
  6. Here's mine! http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=86994
  7. My Collecting the Pieces build: Mikkel Winter-Stone was sent by Masa of Kaliphlin to retrieve a rare alchemy ingredient to aid in the resurrection of Dugal Maclean. In search of samples of Blue-Winged Stinger wings, his journey sent him to the great pine forests of southern Mitgardia. Retrieving the wings is tricky as Stinger venom can easily kill a man and Stingers are very territorial creatures. The crossbow came in handy, but after bringing down the Blue-WInged Stinger he needed, the only defense from the rest of the colony is speed... I built this mainly because I wanted to try out a big fir-like pine tree. I think it came out ok, though I'm not all that happy with how the top looks. But I ran out of both time and small leaf pieces. Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mrcp6d/sets/72157635735712074/with/9860952985/
  8. I vote for Drottin Manaor, because real Mitgardians grow beards!
  9. Yeah, hands and feet are rough. Izzo's dragons over on Brickshelf (http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=237558) have some pretty sweet stuff, though I think his heads and bodies are better than the feet/hands. The rock face is fantastic as an example of rockwork, but I wish there were some specks of snow in there. It looks a bit odd to my eyes with snow on top, snow on the ground, and nothing in between. Like I said on flickr, that tree is awesome! And the rubies as fruit is a fantastic idea.
  10. Those arms and goblets are just creepy. Intriguing idea and well built!
  11. Mikkel is currently searching for the wings of the rare Blue-Winged Snowstinger. If he survives, he'll tell the tale...
  12. This is awesome. My favorite part isn't the tree though, it's the windows on the tower spiraling up. I imagine there must be a spiral staircase in there--great detail! So.... click on them? His flickr has the huge resolution you're after.
  13. Very, very nice! Like everyone else, I'm digging the trans black. It really creates a cloudy/stormy/night-time feel.
  14. This is awesome on the whole, but the waterfall isn't really working for me. I think it's the fact that we can see the white plate underneath the 1x1's. But I'm not real sure how I'd fix it since it's floating.
  15. Mikkel Winter-Stone would be glad to lend a hand!
  16. Nice use of the plesiosaur fins there Ecc!
  17. I agree. Being American I learn quite a bit from all you Europeans about history, architecture, way of life, etc. when these discussions come up. As long as they're civil (this one certainly is) I think they're very good for everyone.
  18. Well, the whole thing is spectacular; but, that is seriously the best rockwork I've ever seen. Mixing the greys--and not just light and dark, also old and new--works phenomenally well at this scale as well as the constant changes in stud direction. The patches of dark tan as brush on any mildly level area is a fantastic touch. Completely blown away. This is some awesome work.
  19. Nice army! I'm of a mixed opinion on the uniformity question I guess. I like my "regular" Mitgardian army figs to have the typical (Ecc's figs) uniform--a grey-colored helmet, grey/brown legs, green arms and a chain mail torso pattern. Which chain mail pattern, I don't really care as I figure individual soldiers would customize straps, belts, tunics, etc to suit their tastes. I like my "Norse" figs to be pretty random--but they MUST carry axes!
  20. I don't know, ^that^ half-timber house seems pretty Mitgardian to me... Plus, much of southern Mitgardia is heavily forested, so half-timber structures make sense in that region to me!
  21. Very nice; thank you for the tutorial! There's a big tree index thread around the forums somewhere, this certainly ought to be in there.
  22. Sweet stuff here, lots of good take-aways. Keep it up!
  23. A big thank you to you Kaliphlinites!
  24. Those are some awesome microscale ships! Dimly lit photography is also cool.
