  1. Quite the sometimes morbid, sometimes funny, always memorable CMF series kahir88!
  2. Best castle diorama I've seen in a while! I really like how the whole thing continuously gains height moving up the hill from the water to the tower in the back, and how you've sort of framed the whole thing with the buildings. The waterwheel design is particularly slick.
  3. Woah, the tower is epic. The stonework in the bottom half is very unique and looks lovely. I'm always happy to see a Duplo shield incorporated into a MOC too!
  4. Great series SK! I love the Warrior Wraith and the Master Swordsman. Mushroom Forager and Mercenary Commander are also strong combos.
  5. Strong series jtooker. Nice to see the more mundane inhabitants of Historica, "civilians" are often some of the harder minifigs for me to put together!
  6. These are all great Ayrlego! The Dryad is definitely my favorite but the parts combos for the Shield Maiden, Cyclops Warrior, Assassin, and Mercenary Captain are fabulous too. I can't believe the excellent condition of the Classic Castle torso and shield or that you pulled the arms out of the torso and put new ones in! I'd be way concerned about cracking that 42 year old torso!
  7. Pairing these off is kind of a fun idea, and you managed to make the individual minifigs different enough that they don't seem too repetitive. My favorites are Sofia (those cages are all fantastic too!), The Devourer, and Arken; the Motus are strong combos too.
  8. Freaking awesome work on this MKJoshA! Imposing fortifications with some nice texture work (I particularly like your use of the 5-sided tiles throughout). Of course, both of those statues are fantastic, and you know I love seeing studs used intentionally as contrasting texture! Rockwork frames the structure well without going crazy. Great MOC!
  9. This is generally a clinic of a CMF series as far as incorporating Star Wars and super hero parts into fantasy castle usage goes. I say generally because honestly all I get from the Nocty group is Star Wars--those helmets are simply too recognizable and sci-fi like for me. Ylspeth, Marilla, Gerard, Gerti, and Shriana are all really strong characters!
  10. Beautiful MOC. Really, simply beautiful. I'm also going to have to steal that "slant the whole wall section" technique for some Egyptian/Adventurers builds to deal with the fact tan Slope 75 2 x 2 x 3 Double Convex parts are apparently more rare than Lego goats in the world!
  11. I really, really like the architecture here. Smooth(er) arches contrasted with the textured walls underneath and behind them are lovely. The water is great here too!
  12. I really like the slight curve in the roof! I guess you kind of have to follow the boat piece's shape at least a little bit, but it looks good too. The trees in the back placed so close together work as a nice little backdrop framing the building too.
  13. Louis, I like this MOC and think it's pretty good really, but a couple different choices would have really put over the edge and for me it's all about "less is more". The tower. First thing is that ruins are freaking HARD. And that said, I like the shaping and the SNOT work in there, but if all the dark brown was either dark bley or light bley I think it would be more successful. There's a lot going on visually there, and one less color would make things more cohesive. The sand green is kind of distracting. I might drop it all together, or, get some flat-ish areas in the landscaping that you could locate the color on. "Color blocking" is often talked about as a key part of a well presented spaceship MOC, but more and more I'm of the opinion it also applies to castle builds and especially landscapes. The above said, I like the rock arch you incorporated on the left and especially how you handled the tan in the path through the water and its transition out of it. I also totally agree with the others above, the horns-as-foam technique looks really good at this scale and through the camera angle you chose for us.
  14. This is really nice jtooker! Obviously the sheer size is great, and I really love how you used SNOT with the columns and the concave slopes within them. Also the integration of those small column sections into the rockwork at the near corner is sublime, certainly adds some realism. Fantastic MOC!
  15. I decided to go with an overall theme this time rather than simply and only focusing on what might work for each Guild. So, I present to you: "Legends and Horror Stories of Historica" There are all manner of scary stories told throughout the ages in Historica. Some are surely simply tales created for entertainment around a fire on a fall evening. Some may be fairy tales sometimes used by parents to try to keep their children close to home during dangerous times. Some may result from the, er, "impaired" sensory experiences of wandering travelers. But, some, some are true..... Historica is an ancient land with magics and mysteries stretching many generations. Who can tell the fact from the fiction? You? I doubt it. Flickr album Congrats everyone on 10 years!
  16. Epic! I love when somebody comes at a build prompt from a strange/fun angle and executes flawlessly. This is one of those times! Lots of awesome packed into a reasonable-sized footprint here.
  17. Oh the floor here is fantastic! The shelves are a little simple in comparison, but you've got some great items to fill them with and they frame the window and fireplace well. Great MOC!
  18. Really great MOC! Love the height here, don't get that often from microscale that isn't in the floating rocks genre. You said you used mixel parts to get the rock wedges to curve around and they do look great, but you also used mixel parts to good effect as the curtain wall crenellations.
  19. You're really on a roll lately with these immersive builds! The angles in the building you achieved while embedding it into the rockwork are great, as is the use of those old windows pieces.
  20. Really beautiful Louis! Love the architecture here!
  21. Great work here Garm! Yes, this was a crowded category but I really liked your entry. The moon hanging over the waterfall and highlighting the black knight all the way through the reflection is fantastic.
  22. I really like how densely packed the wares are on the shelves in both of these builds. The angled display on the left of the larger stall in particular is well done. You've got a mastery of color that not many of us have too!
  23. This is a great interpretation! I had 6761 as a kid and I loved it, this update preserves the feel of the set for sure. As for techniques, the embedded wooden supports are a highlight for me and the way you crafted the wheel ruts is just fantastic.
  24. Thanks jtooker! Thanks BrickzAndBrezn! The silver frog market is pretty hot, be prepared for bidding wars! Oddly enough, I had one sitting on the build table when I was putting this together, but ended up not finding any real estate that made sense to work it in. Thanks Niku! Thanks Brickwolf!
  25. Great micro build here Louis!
