At least the slewing is mechanized on the 8868. The cranes aren't... And you have a good point about the steering wheel, it isn't completely necessary on a truck, more on a supercar.

PS I was just typing what I thought, so this probably makes hardly any sense

No it's not as good as these 7... out of these 7 I'd go for your order too to be perfectly honest. The Air Tech Claw Rig is definitely the best Lego Technic model for realism In my opinion, closely followed like you said by the backhoe

I don't really know where I got my inspiration from, but knowing me probably something British about the panels, they wouldn't actually fit on the side as the bonnet is only one stud higher than the wheel arches
