RC Stuff in LDD?
legomuppet9 replied to MrNumbskull13's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
At the top click "view" then hover over "themes" (i think) and click "LDD Extended" so you can switch between the two in one file, I use it all the time for recolouring 9M beams... -
Steering help
legomuppet9 replied to Lakop's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Three solutions that I like to use: Worm gear to 24 tooth gear encased in the thin triangles (I use it a lot in most my MOC's without return to center steering) Or a 8:24, 8:24 reduction Or return to center steering setup. I like using Mahjqa's one he uses in his chassis's or however this doesn't use the gear rack. So for that I'd use sheepo's http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=54104 second one I use most... so yes, there's plenty to play with there just experiment, as in the end it's what you prefer, and what fits best -
So you may as well just use MLCad to build it in the first place I guess...

Yes I think it is, but there are quite a few errors I reckon and it'll probably be quite hard to make instructions from it... EDIT: had a quick go trying with the Nano Magic Cube thing (smallish file to export and I had it to hand) http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=46788 and things didn't go that well... I went from this What happens when you export a simple model from LDD to MLCad... by legomuppet9, on Flickr To this What happens when you export a simple model from LDD to MLCad... by legomuppet9, on Flickr And to be perfectly honest, I do not have the time to make amends, mainly because I still don't know how to create building instructions on MLCad (I've never finished a tutorial, attention span isn't my best thing...)

Use a turntable? That's very strong for pendular suspension....- 2 replies

Looks good quality, good job, and well done for persevering with MLCad, I haven't succeeded in that yet... Also I like the idea of "pay what you like" as it gives people some freedom, I don't like to pay for instructions (prefer to spend it on actual Lego) but I am interested in learning other people's solutions to problems , and you get a small income coming in of the people who aren't cruel like me and pay for instructions , so yes, I am definitely interested in seeing what these are like

Red Coupé V12
legomuppet9 replied to Lipko's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yes I completely agree, I knew it looked like something.... couldn't work it out, thought it was a Mitsubishi or an old Aston Martin at first but you're right, it's definitely a current Mustang -

9-stud driven steering
legomuppet9 replied to ATS's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Got 10 studs... 10 stud wide axle by legomuppet9, on Flickr Needs extra bracing etc, and the steering needs to be sorted, but I can't do that on LDD, i need to build it in actual Lego, which I can't do quite at the moment... -
I had a EUREKA moment after trying to figure out how to drive three functions using two motors, use a differential of course! Small mock up of my idea on LDD: A Small Idea for 3 Functions driven by 2 Motors by legomuppet9, on Flickr Red = Drive Green = PTO Blue = PTO on/off switch Yellow = Steering I'm hoping that when the steering goes to the extreme, it will turn the differential thus turning the switch. similar idea to what zblj used on his dump truck I can't remember of anyone else using this idea sorry if I have missed anyone... Thoughts on this? will it work? (I don't access to my Lego till Friday )

Small Technic Challenge
legomuppet9 replied to Bzroom's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
If there was a yellow beam the other side, then I'd probably put red connectors each side, but if not, I'd use my solution, it depends what the situation is to be perfectly honest... -
