Nice work effe the only thing I'd change for if it were to become an official model would be the steering, kids would undoubtedly find it too slow but for an MOC, the steering mechanism you used is ingenious

Yep I think you need to add size of tyres too, as well as the weight and ratio and number of motors. Makes it a bit more accurate without making it overly complicated Even though to get it very accurate you would need to take into account everything that Sariel mentioned -

This is an interesting project, I will definitely be following it! I agree with your opinion on buying sets instead of bricklink, after-all, what's wrong with having more parts? So I too buy sets, rather than individual pieces.
