  10. I kind of like the idea that the heroes would all explore a city differently. Seeing what they prioritize really adds to their character, really fun way to keep us on task AND give us an ability to explore what our characters hold in importance. I also really like the idea of them all getting lost constantly and then accidentally running back into each other.

  17. "I understand. I find that it is rarely as easy as finding the evil ones and killing them." The heroes round the corner and plunge into deep shadow. Even glancing back at where they were a few seconds ago, they find that they can see nothing. The female voice calls out to them, but it seems to come from all around them. It is hard, actually, the distinguish any of the voices. The heroes feel numb. "Ah, hello! Some new comers. And only one of you dressed as the Order Imperial. I'm sorry for the shadows, but these boys were trying to hurt my little Marcellus. I told them I'd lift the shadows if they'd let him go." "The green skin will die!" bellows a voice. "Yes, see, that's exactly why I can't let the shadows up yet." "We should have killed you when you were in prison, witch. Simon was too soft on you. Bella wanted you dead." "Now now. What are you? More heroes? Or part of that kobold's group? You wouldn't hurt a poor little kind hearted green skin, would you?"
  18. Boomingham claps his hand into the Priests. "Good to meet you. I've gotten more his sort of welcome than your's, so thank you. Would you like to go for a little walk and allow me to pick your brain about the city? For example, do you have any idea where one can buy flowers and jewelry? I'm heading over to the Lodestar Inn to talk to a night, thinking of passing through the souk. Where do you live within the city? Am I going your way?"
  19. "Not on my own I won't. We're not splitting up, that's what got us into this mess in the first place." He places Yu Shu's arm over his shoulder. "If you can walk on your own, Monk, I can drag her along." "Was that kobold a friend of your's?" asks Abel, his sword still not lowered. "No time for that, Abel. You're either with us, or we're leaving you here." Abel inhales deeply. "I can hopefully spare more lives with you. Let's move." Gocklo, it seems, was good on his word. The heroes follow a trail of corpses, with their companions (Abel's face turning paler by the second) in tow. Up around a bend in the corridor they hear a cheery voice chatting away with some gruffer companions. What will the heroes do?
  20. Boomingham salutes the knight in blue. "You have my word, sir, this knight of your's will be hearing from me shortly." Boomingham saunters off. He remembers vaguely a knight in black at the Lodestar, and besides it's the only place he's found in the city so far that offered food and drink... he glances at the hotel and the woman outside and walks over, giving a quick bow. "Howdy there. My name is Lawrence T. Boomingham. Are you a patron, or an employee here?"

  22. Pretzel eats the herb and feels his ailments... relieved, if barely. (-3 poisoned) Samuel tries to bring the herb over to Yu Shu, but she swats it away. "The Monk still stands." "He has the Veteran's protection. That is why he's not walking drivel like I am. He is a poor lab rat." She wheels on Abel. "I don't mind sparing you. But you do not have my trust. You are of the Order, and now..." she almost keels forward, and Avery springs forward to right her. "I know you are a traitor as well." "And you are here to massacre soldiers. What sort of warrior of Light are you? I have seen Eubric. I know how the Paladins there work. No longer protectors, just whores and dangerous ones at that. That is your assassin, no?" "And she'll keep an eye on you. One wrong move." "I've already seen her prowess. Red Assassins. Where do they fit into the Light's path?" Abel spits. "You think we're the perversions?" Yu Shu grips her weapon and stumbles forward. "Shall we see who the Light favors? A dirty cowardly traitor, or a true champion. I don't live in a fantasy world. Compromises must be made. But if I have to choose between Avery and Bella-" Abel draws his sword, but is stopped by some giggling in the doorway. The heroes and their companions turn to see Gocklo in the doorway, clinging to the back of a red-bearded man none of them recognize. Standing next to Gocklo is a strange looking creature wrapped in barbed wire. Gocklo bleeds profusely, and it takes the heroes a few seconds to realize he's down an arm. "Gustav?" Abel takes a few steps forward, but Gocklo giggles and presses a knife into the bearded man's throat. The man gulps. "Not another step, Abel, or the little devil will slight my throat. I've seen him do it enough today." "So sorry to interrupt. Looks like it was just getting good he he he." He glances over at Kiray and Pretzel. "Listen, Nerwen could use your help. She's a while back there. I think I cleared a pretty good path for you if I do say so myself. Just follow the carnage, he he he." A mere whisper in Gustav's ear is enough to turn the man pale and he takes off down a shadowy corridor, yanking the woman wrapped in barbed wire behind him.
  23. "Do I look like a layman to you?" asks Boomingham with a sly smile. "Tell you what - let me help you out, prove my worth and what not. You mentioned someone who has forlorn their duty - doesn't sound like my kind of man. Want me to track him down for you and give him a piece of my mind?"
  24. Boomingham salutes the ladies, but then grimaces. "Ulrica. My oh my." Boomingham approaches the two guards at the gate. "Hello there chaps! How'd you get stuck with the night shift?" He salutes. "Names Lord Lawrence T. Boomingham. New to the city, but I'm supposed to be protecting one of the sisters that wandered in there. If you could pass a message along to her, possibly, that'd be just peachy. Tell her its Boomingham. Tell her I know her from the Foundation Day Ball, and tell her that I've come alone. And that I'd love an audience."
  25. "I can try my best." Abel stumbles around the garden as Samuel helps Yu Shu back into a position she can walk from. He keeps an eye on Avery. "I find it hard to trust people employing someone who literally strikes from the shadows." He looks at Pretzel. "You're right. We met in Eubric once. What is your name?" He yanks a plant out of the ground. "Chew this. It should help a little. It won't cure you - I don't know what poison Bella carried on her, but it should slow the process at least." Yu Shu eyes the plant distrustfully. "I will take nothing of the Order's. Regardless of Samuel's opinion of you... Abel... you are... how could you stand for such things. The Never Blessed... Bella... operating so clearly from shadows." Will Pretzel try it?
