Business!" U'Or opens up his briefcase and shuffles a few papers. "Our artifacts. Yes. Ahem." He clears his throat. "In Dastan we will be picking up the Dragon's Heart Flame. It is a very old fire that the Dragons have kept alive for years, or perhaps the other way around... it is said that it can breath life and will into being and things! Some speculate that the dragons themselves crawled out of it." He looks through some other notes. "And in Xu we will be picking up the First Breath. It is considered the first exhale from the first great being, and is often associated with freedom and the mind. It is waiting for us in a room of a Chi Monk Temple." Lady Felix tosses 20 gold on the table as well, and draws a King of Spades. "That'll prove tough to beat, Hybros." Hybros draws a Four of Hearts. Lady Felix smiles cockily and drags the gold to her side of the table. "Want to give it another shot? It'll only cost you 40 gold." If Hybros doubles down, it will cost him 40 gold, but the winning pot becomes 80.

Lady Felix herself sips on a mead. "I figured we might start with a game of chance and then transition into one of skill once our minds are a little more liberated. Have you ever played high card?" she asks, shuffling a deck. High Card For two players: The Hero may wager any amount of gold, and Lady Felix will match it. That gold becomes the pot. The hero and Lady Felix each flip a card, and the highest card wins the current pot. The winner of the pot may either keep the pot, or offer double or nothing. If the loser accepts double or nothing, they must match the current pot and the winner will return the won gold to the pot. The game is then played again. The game can be played up to six rounds per game. OoC: I will roll a die before each game to see how many rounds Lady Felix will be willing to play. Ask if you have any question. I would draw cards for both contestants each round. "What do you say, Hybros? Want to make a wager?"

The heroes board the ship, and Elba cuts the mooring. Stepping behind the wheel he gives it a yank and the propellers all over the ship begin to whirl and they're up up and away, soaring over Eubric. Guffington stands at the edge of the ship looking over the edge, his eyes a little watery from the wind. U'Or stands behind him. Lady Felix takes a glance around and then shrugs. "I'll be drinking in the cabin. Come on in if you want to play some games," she says. "Gerald, that means you too." Guffington nods as the city fades further into view and steps inside with Zora. Elba stands at the wheel, and U'Or remains on deck. Who would the heroes like to address?

"Good to meet the both of you. His name was Melville," Lane explains idly to Matthias, "and truth be honest I always thought he was sort of a bastard. Had me and a group of heroes track down a sea beast last fall and in the end barely even mentioned me in his report." "Roof! The only other living being on board is a strange silver frog, who stands near the dog. Lane eyes the frog distrustfully but doesn't say anything about it. "If you'll cast us off, Master Guts. "Thank you, gnome. I will wait for them, then." Doc Daneeka waits only a minute or two until Guffington, Hybros, and Guts step back out of the Manor, followed by U'Or. They all nod a greeting to the Doctor. "Is it time then?" "Yes. Guts will be traveling with you, along with the gnome Matthias and the assassin Dyric Rone." Guffington smiles. "I assume our transport is ready as well?" "I just did a final once over with Elba. It should be functioning fine. If not, I expect he will be able to repair anything. I will see you in Etheria, Gerald." Doc turns to Guts. "If you would follow me down to the docks." Doc Daneeka and his party depart for the docks. "And the rest of you will be following me down to the warehouses." The heroes, along with Lady Felix and U'Or, follow Guffington down to the warehouses. Guffington produces a key and unlocks one, but walks all the way around back to an open field. In the field is a mammoth boat, sitting right there on dry land. Aboard is one Captain Elba, who waves merrily. "Hello, all! Ready to shove off?"

Those aliens are awesome - both terrifying and cute at the same time! The landscape is really nice as well - electrifying colors. I wish the "bio-tar pits" has less rectangular edges, but that's my only note. I love the way they're smooth in comparison to the rest of the landscaping, and the bubbles are very cool.

OoC: Oops, sorry for the wait guys, I've bee waiting for JimBee to reply to a PM but realized he said he'd be away. So we'll move on. Lady Felix just shrugs. "Lineage is boring," she says. "But I'd love it if you gave me a tour of your family's house some time." Another bustling figure enters in through the front gate. He glances at all the heroes, nodding a hello to Arthur. "Arthur." He looks at the other heroes. His voice is quiet and metallic. "Greetings. My name is Doc Daneeka. I am a Sayyip - one of the last, so if you have not met my kind before, that is why. I have come to collect those of you who are heading to the High Kingdoms and Baltarok. Our ship is departing shortly." He looks around a little bit more. "Where are Hybros and Guts?"

Why don't you just play it that way. I'm going to Etheria, which is a place Flipz mentioned once in one post. We didn't need to expand it in PM because it came in time. All the places and cultural background can be included if you just act like its there instead of OoCing and asterisking it all in.

I really want to quest with Hoke, but as with all the players I host an excessive amount, it's been tough. They've always gelled well in the Hall, but you know there's nothing like a quest to bring people together. And CMP, considering that you're one of my favorite QMs to simply READ along side I agree that it's outrageous that I've never been on one of your quests. As for 139 - it wouldn't be a Guffington quest if you didn't choose your own party. I try to keep the traditions alive.

"It was nothing, Hybros." Guffington dismisses it with a wave of his hand. "I am more in your debt than you could ever be in mine. If I recall correctly, Guts, yourself and your friend Docken brought me back into this world while I was more than happy to explore one of dreams. So let's say that anything that I have done since then is all because of you and call ourselves even." He looks at the assembled heroes, and then at U'Or, who is going down a checklist. "Master Holla, Master Hybros, Master Abelsword and Regulus with their two dragons, Lady Berthadhiell, Master Rone, Matthias, Lady Felix." The U'Kin looks up from his sheet and nods. "That's all of them." Guffington grins. "Let's get started then. As I'm sure you saw in my description of this quest, we are to acquire four ancient artifacts and bring them to their island of origin… if the fables are true and what not. Etheria. The only place on Olegia that I have yet to step foot." Guffington beams. "I'm looking forward to it." "But, before we arrive, we will have to go actually collect these artifacts. Time is of the essence, I am told," U'Or clicks his tongue and hangs his head. Guffington rolls his eyes good-naturedly. "Regardless, we do not have time to make a trip all the way around the globe to collect all these items, so we will be splitting into two teams. I will be leading an expedition along with Lady Felix, U'Or and Captain Elba to Dastan and Xu. The rest of you, meanwhile, will accompany Doc Daneeka and a guide or two I've hired for you along the way to the High Kingdoms and Baltarok. I will leave it to you to decide who goes where. The obvious division of forces would be four and three or three and four… but I will again leave that to you. It is also my preference that Guts lead one team and Hybros the other, though I in no way make that a requirement. I ask only that you consider who to send where carefully. These artifacts may be guarded well, and it would be a mistake to assume that political connections and knowledge of the region will not come into play." Gufington sighs.
