  1. Yeah... Capt.JohnPaul, maybe you should stop handing over gems like candy. They're supposed to be rare. I love the shot with the rock monsters, though. They're such cute little fellows!
  2. The party goes through the doors along the hallway, finding five empty classrooms, a small cabin with cleaning equipment, and a foul-smelling lavatory. The cleaning cabin contains a few useful items for the party: 1x Smoke Bomb - Allows the party to escape the battle. 2x Venom - Use on a weapon to make it cause a poisoned-effect on any enemy it hits for the duration of one battle. A poisoned enemy loses 1 health each turn. Party Leader, how will these items be divided?
  3. Okay, people, loads of misunderstandings going on here! Rumble Strike, in my opinion Bricksandparts has the right to be just as barbaric (or unbarbaric) as he sees best - it's his character, and his job class isn't (and shouldn't be) his only defining trait. I totally understand his thoughts of fighting from the back row when faced with enemies that can wipe him out in a single hit - that's a smart strategy, not a cowardly one. Those gargoyles were tough on purpose. And I don't think Bricksandparts confused the meanings of the order of actions and the rows at any point, anyway. Please read what you are being told with thought before jumping to conclusions, guys! I don't want any quarrels between players in the game, and I hope everyone agrees to that. If you feel irritated or frustrated, take it out on the monsters instead of each others, okay?
  4. Rawwrr! What happened to the truce I suggested?! Oh well, let's play it your way, then... Vote: Drakius Knight (Dragonator)
  5. The party decides to enter the East Wing through a door that leads them into a long hallway. There are seven doors along the hallway and one at the end of it. There is also an intersecting corridor on the left that leads north to the library. But the first thing that draws the party's attention is a section of the wall. Horrendous profanities have been scribbled on it that were not there when the party passed here earlier that day. What will the party do next? - Check the doors along the hallway - Turn left to the library - Try the door at the end of the hallway - Go back to the Entrance Hall
  6. Erdathcath uses her Smoke Bomb, which allows the party to escape the seemingly hopeless battle. THE BATTLE IS DISCONTINUED! Party: Alf Gregory (played by Bricksandparts) Level 1 Barbarian Power: 4 Health: 8/8 Gold: 0 Inventory: Greatsword (WP:3), Potion, Mead, Shovel En Sabah Nur (played by Jebediahs) Level 4 Mage *Lucky* Power: 9 Health: 8/8 Ether: 8/8 Gold: 0 Inventory: Sangriste Dagger (WP:5), Loaded Die (permanent lucky-effect), Garnet (Earth), 3 Potions, 3 Tonics, Bedroll Erdathcath Madilinas (played by The_Customizer) Level 1 Ranger Power: 4 Health: 4/6 Gold: 5 Inventory: Longbow (WP:3), Potion, Bedroll Maurice Ratibor (played by Etzel) Level 1 Cleric Power: 4 Health: 9/9 Ether: 5/5 Gold: 5 Inventory: Steel Mace (WP:3), Potion, Remedy The gargoyles block the party's way to the other doors of the Atrium, so they have no other option but to return to the Entrance Hall. Which way will the party go next? To the East Wing or the West Wing?
  7. Only rogues can flee automatically. All other job classes need a Smoke Bomb to do so, but one bomb will allow the whole party to flee.
  8. Why can't we all just get along, guys? If we just sit down and talk like sensible adults, we might all continue our lives in peace. *hides Shadowghost's severed arm behind his back*
  9. Results of Round One of the Gargoyle Battle: >Erdathcath Madilinas vs. Gargoyle A - Damage Maurice Ratibor vs. Gargoyle A - Miss Alf Gregory vs. Gargoyle B - Hit En Sabah Nur uses Venom The party's first battle begins. The gargoyle that Erdathcath targets manages to strike the female ranger instead, causing 2 damage to her. Maurice's attack misses, but Alf connects with his sword, causing 4 damage to the second Gargoyle. Nur coats his dagger with venom. Both enemies still stand strong. The battle continues. Any enemy not targetted will get a Free Hit against a party member. OoC: If you don't flee, this will be an extremely long battle. Just saying.
  10. Rawwwrrr!!! *chews on Derwar's legbone* What are you looking at?! I was hungry! I just hope the poison has lost its effect by now...
  11. After a hard day working at the apothecary, Ellaria returned to Heroica Hall to take a look at the Quest Board. As she entered the building, she saw Tarn signing his name onto a new quest bill posted the board. She hesitated for a while, but then Tarn turned away to speak to someone Ellaria did not know. She sneaked behind the young barbarian, signed her name below Tarn's to Quest#12: Honey, I Shrunk the Youngins!, and then left the hall silently. She wished she would get a chance to talk to Tarn again someday, but right now she felt too tired to do that. Maybe if they got on another quest together...
  12. I'm absolutely loving the figure! I think it might be your best custom Final Fantasy-minifig to date. The only thing I'm not digging is the face, it looks neither LEGOish nor FFish enough to me.
  13. The party walks forward across the Atrium. Ahead of them they start to make out the outlines of two grotesque statues resembling some sort of winged demons with flames emanating from their mouths. However, these statues were of the mobile sort, and upon seeing the party, the two gargoyles promptly attack. PREPARE FOR BATTLE! Enemies: Gargoyle A Type: Rock, Flying Level: 4 Health: 45/45 Special: Plummet – Causes 8 damage to the target, but also takes away 2 health from the Gargoyle. Drops: Half a Globe (quest item) Gargoyle B Type: Rock, Flying Level: 4 Health: 45/45 Special: Plummet – Causes 8 damage to the target, but also takes away 2 health from the Gargoyle. Drops: Half a Globe (quest item) Party: Alf Gregory (played by Bricksandparts) Level 1 Barbarian Power: 4 Health: 8/8 Gold: 0 Inventory: Greatsword (WP:3), Potion, Mead, Shovel En Sabah Nur (played by Jebediahs) Level 4 Mage *Lucky* Power: 9 Health: 8/8 Ether: 8/8 Gold: 0 Inventory: Sangriste Dagger (WP:5), Loaded Die (permanent lucky-effect), Garnet (Earth), 3 Potions, 3 Tonics, Venom, Bedroll Erdathcath Madilinas (played by The_Customizer) Level 1 Ranger Power: 4 Health: 6/6 Gold: 5 Inventory: Longbow (WP:3), Potion, Smoke Bomb, Bedroll Maurice Ratibor (played by Etzel) Level 1 Cleric Power: 4 Health: 9/9 Ether: 5/5 Gold: 5 Inventory: Steel Mace (WP:3), Potion, Remedy Party Leader, please post the order of action. All of you, please post your targets and the row you want to fight from. Also state if you want to heal, cast a spell, flee or use an item instead. Any enemy not targetted will get a Free Hit against a party member.
  14. ~A new quest has been posted on the Quest Board!~
  15. Just played around with the Photoshop brush, that's all. But thanks for the compliment. A reminder to all players: if you are on a quest, you CANNOT post into the Heroica Hall topic unless the QM gives you the permit.
  16. The party advanced forward into the Atrium. In the darkness, they saw two humps moving slowly on the far side of the enclosed yard. They would have to walk closer to see what they were. Will the party walk on, or return to the Entrance Hall?
  17. Slightly more structured?! EBRPG was a "do whatever you like" sort of game, while Heroica RPG at least has a set of rules to go with. But of course some people might prefer a game like that over the more restricted Heroica RPG, I'm not denying that.
  18. Provost Lector leaves the party to wait until the dusk comes. The night guard Jensen arrives a few hours later, and the party explains their plan to him. The silent orc just nods and enters the building. As the ruckus on the nearby streets steadily ceases, the academy grounds become eerily silent. The party keeps a hard eye on the main entrance, but not a soul goes in or comes out. The sky is now pitch dark. Suddenly a scream pierces the silence. It is coming from inside the academy, so the party decides to enter with haste. The entrance hall is quiet and empty. There are doors leading straight ahead, left and right. Which way will the party head first?
  19. "This is a large building, so if the four of you split up to cover all sides of it, you will not be able to communicate with each other. Shucks, I knew I should have hired more heroes, but the school budget just did not allow it... We've lost a lot of our finances in cleaning the place up every morning, you know? So catching those vandals is not just a matter of pride to us." The provost took off his classes and rubbed them at the hem of his robe. "If you take my advice, you should wait nearby until dusk, and then enter the building. We will leave the front door unlocked to lure the vandals to use it. Who knows, you might catch them while they try to sneak in? The other doors will of course be locked from the inside. Does this sound like a plan to you people?"
  20. Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. That makes nine gangs.
  21. "The vandals seem to be completely random in their acts. One night a few shelves of the library were knocked down, while on another night they hid all the globes of the Planetarium all over the building. I believe they target the academy in general." "Oh no, there are no tall trees in the Atrium, only decorative bushes. I'd like you to hide outside the building as to not alert the vandals. If you don't see them go in, I would suggest you enter after it's dark in any case." "Are you ready to wait for dusk to fall, or is there something else you wish to know?"
  22. They clearly are not stickers. Yay for brick bricks! Also, as Aanchir pointed out, they might be two sided, with the other side representing "logs" instead of "bricks", though the log brick could also be a separate piece.
  23. It's certainly an interesting setting, even if the MOC itself could be progressed further. Get back to me with your idea once you've finished your current quest, okay?
  24. "No, I'm afraid not. Aside from the four entrances, there are countless windows that the vandals could have climbed in. Or they could have snuck in during the day and hidden until the night to commit their mischief. This is truly a mind-boggling case to us, that is why we have asked Heroica to intervene."
  25. "We have students from a few of the houses in power here, yes. Lyren Hinckwell studies here, as well as Nuitan Shadeaux. The latter's little sister Bellanotte will surely enter our school once she comes of age. We only teach youth over 15 years of age here, you see?" "The students should not be aware of the incidents taking place during the night, since we have managed to clean the place up each morning thus far, but of course there are rumours circulating among the youth already." "I am truly sorry, but I cannot provide you with trap-making equipment at the moment. But I can show you around the academy, for sure. Come, follow me." The provost shows the party the way around the academy. From the Entrance Hall, there's access to the East and West Wings as well as the Atrium. Both wings have two floors with classrooms. The Atrium has entrances to the Observatorium to the west and the Library to the east, as well as the grand Auditorium to the north. The Observatory contains the Planetarium, while the restricted Faculty Offices lie above the Library. There are side doors at the west, east and north ends of the building. "Is there something else you wish to inquire?" the provost asks after the tour.
