  1. Lady Luck was smiling to you today, Jebediahs. I swear I did not tinker with those die rolls. Now, a little hint: USE A BOMB!!! If the battle would have been lost (which now looks like it won't), the quest would have failed altogether, and the party would be returned to the Heroica Hall. In this case, I would put the quest back up to the Quest Board, but in other cases, the quest would not have been repeated (like with Quest#6, which was failed by making a different choice than a successful quest would have required). But yay, I'm genuinely happy that the party seems to have made it through that battle after all!
  2. OoC: Damn, those Loaded Dice really do work! Results of Round Five of the Mirror Battle: >En Sabah Nur (Earth) vs. Magic Mirror - Great Spell/Shield Mirror Alf - Free Hit against En Sabah Nur Mirror Maurice - Free Hit against En Sabah Nur Mirror Jensen - Free Hit against En Sabah Nur Having watched all his friends fall one by one, Nur felt anger and despair boil inside him. This allowed his inner magical powers to burst open, causing an earth-elemental explosion of brimstone and shards that dealt 12 damage to all enemies except the impervious Magic Mirror. The false Alf and the false Jensen both succumb to the ripping spell, and Mirror Maurice was left with a single point of health. The cleric's reflection caused 2 damage to the mage, but that was not enough to take him down. Two enemies remain standing against the exhausted mage. 3. "Oh no, Alexis! I have a Phoenix Essence in my possession, but I hesitate to use it when we're so close to winning. I hope you can forgive me when you regain consciousness, my friend..." Seeing her friend fall in battle made Ellaria even more determined. But this was no time to act rashly, so she decided to use a potion on herself. After all, if she was to fall in battle, the party would lose their main source of healing. "Tesni, am I doing the right thing?" she asked the party leader for reassurence.
  4. Yes, you can throw out ideas for quest at the Quest Masters' Lounge, and somebody might catch it. Don't be too disappointed if nobody does, though, since most of the people who want to host quests already have their own ideas.
  5. We're all rooting for you, Jeb! Except that stupid die of mine that keeps killing people.
  6. Results of Round Four of the Mirror Battle: >En Sabah Nur uses Potion on himself >Maurice Ratibor vs. Magic Mirror - Special Damage Mirror Alf - Free Hit against En Sabah Nur Mirror Maurice - Free Hit against Maurice Ratibor Mirror Jensen - Free Hit against En Sabah Nur Things are looking grim for the heroes. En Sabah Nur uses one of his potions, and restores himself to full health. Maurice is attacked by the Magic Mirror's reflection for 4 damage. Mirror Alf causes 2 damage to Nur, while Mirror Maurice knocks his real-life counterpart out. Mirror Jensen causes 4 damage against Nur, leaving the mage at half health. 7. "Gladly!" Ellaria prepared to give the foul-mouthed goblin another good whack, so she chose to attack the Demolitionist from the front row.
  8. Nice to see new players entering the Hall! Here's the resized avatars for your characters, they're both very cool. Ah, the problem was that Tesni's power was written wrong in the party list. Glad you picked that up.
  9. Sorry, people in my quest, the battle is not going too well for you... But if you fail the quest, I will repost it immediately to the Quest Board, and maybe allow a bigger party to enter it.
  10. OoC:No, you're unconsious! But it's only for this battle, you'll regain consciousness when it's over. That is, unless the entire party is defeated, which means it'll be morning and the quest will have failed.
  11. Byblos gets nervous of Adeline's sudden appearance, and almost drops the heavy book he was reading. "Why, certainly! Who better to write up a good 'Who's who' guide than the world's leading socialite/adventurer!"
  12. Results of Round Three of the Mirror Battle: Jensen vs. Mirror Alf - Special Damage >En Sabah Nur vs. Magic Mirror - Critical Hit/Special Damage Alf Gregory uses an Ice Bomb Maurice Ratibor vs. Mirror Jensen - Critical Hit Mirror Maurice - Free Hit against Jensen The dire battle continues. Jensen tries to attack Mirror Alf, but the reflection goes into a Frenzy again, dealing 4 damage to Jensen, Maurice and Alf (knocking the barbarian out), and 2 damage against Nur. Nur smashes his dagger against the Magic Mirror in a futile attempt to damage it. Maurice scores a critical hit against Mirror Jensen, causing 10 damage. Unfortunately, Mirror Maurice uses this opportunity to take the real Jensen out of the equation. Four enemies still remain, but only two of the heroes are standing. Enemies: Magic Mirror Type: Mechanic Level: 1 (uses special skill for Free Hits) Health: 1/1 (cannot be damaged until all reflections have been defeated) Special: Reflect – Damages the target equal to its own power. All of you, please post your targets and the row you want to fight from (the Party Leader will choose for Jensen). Also state if you want to heal, cast a spell, flee or use an item instead. Any enemy not targetted will get a Free Hit against a party member.
  13. Ellaria looked at the bellowing Tesni with admiration. Her own outburst seemed childish now, but she just couldn't tolerate the mocking of her goddess. Besides, the goblins' greasy talk had brought nasty memories back to her mind. The villagers of Tumpkin had not been gentle in exiling her, on the contrary... But Ellaria didn't want to think about it now. She was in the middle of a battle, so she was determined to aim all those negative feelings at the enemies in front of her.
  14. Enjoying the peace and quiet, Byblos the Librarian decided to engulf a book recounting the history of Xu, a mystical kingdom somewhere in the south-east, beyond Carthago and even Salmanda. This was because the Ji Pei family hailed there. The house of architects had brought otherwordly technology with them to Eubric, machines which had raised them into a position of power in no time at all. But the Ji Pei were still strangers on these shores, not only because of their blue skins but also for their customs and habits. Yes, Byblos remembered seeing the members of the family a few times in passing, and their bright blue skins had indeed stood out even from the diverse crowd that the citizens formed. The aoi, they called themselves, the blue people. Byblos read from his book that in ancient times Xu had belonged to the aoi alone, but other races - mostly humans, orcs, dwarves and nagas - now formed the majority of the land's population. The aoi were still very much in control, though, for their inventions and architecture were beyond compare. But being a minority in your own land could not be easy for them. It is no wonder that they had send envoys such as the house of Ji Pei across the world to spread their influences. But what was the intention of the aoi, Byblos wondered, as he closed the book. Their history tells of bloody wars where immense machines wreaked havoc upon the opposing armies. If the Ji Pei were planning on building anything like that here in Eubric, the Heroica would have to be on their guard...
  15. OoC: You can't target bombs at anyone specific, so unfortunately using them means more Free Hits your way. But on the other hand, Alf won't be damaged unless Mirror Alf's Special Skill or a Free Hit hits him. But it's of course up to you guys on how to handle the battle, I won't intervene any more than this.
  16. It might not be immediately recognizable, but it actually belongs to the Frankenstein's Monster from the Collectable Minifigures Series 4.
  17. OoC: You have two potions since you started out with one and gained one during the quest (check your correct inventory from the party list). Bombs affect all enemies, so they do not need to be targetted.
  18. The fire burning at the tip of Ignis Fatuus reflects from Ellaria's eyes as the rage fills her. "How DARE you! Burn in the flames of my wrath, you filthy pigs! Burn until you're crisp and tasty!!!" Ellaria lets out an otherworldly howl as she raises her staff high above her head for a strike.
  19. Bohring the Enlightened's voice can be heard faintly in the air again. "...Use the Force bombs..."
  20. Of course, as long as you're not on a quest! You can involve money as well, but you shouldn't play for debt (or if you do, you have to pay back your losses). The players just have to make sure everyone involved knows the rules. Ah, okay! That makes more sense. It's great you decided to include it, anyway!
  21. Seriously, Brickdoctor? You went all that trouble to create that amazing deck of cards and incorporating the card game into your quest, just to give the party 5 gold?!
  22. OoC: Sorry, Bricksandparts, for moving the battle onwards without your input, but you seemed willing to do that yesterday when The_Customizer's input was missing, so I hope you don't mind. Results of Round Two of the Mirror Battle: Jensen vs. Mirror Erdathcath - Hit Alf Gregory vs. Mirror Jensen - Damage >En Sabah Nur (Light) vs. Mirror Alf - Damage/Special Damage >Maurice Ratibor vs. Magic Mirror - Critical Hit Mirror Maurice - Free Hit against Jensen The battle continues without Erdathcath. Jensen scores a hit against the false ranger, causing 11 damage and knocking her out like her real-life counterpart. Alf loses 7 health because of Mirror Jensen's attack, while Nur is damaged by Mirror Alf and loses 2 health. Maurice lands a critical hit on the Magic Mirror, but the reflections of the heroes are protecting it from all harm. Mirror Maurice gains a free hit on Jensen, dealing 4 damage. Four enemies remain, and the battle continues.
  23. CallMePie is right, the Rogue/Cleric mix is a Witch - and yes, both genders will be called that. But because Warlocks are commonly thought to be male witches, I didn't want to include them as a separate class. I'm thinking of reserving Necromancer as an Expert Job, though, although the details for those are still under work.
  24. Jebediahs, I'm wondering how you came to the conclusion that Tesni caused 70 damage against the Goblin Engineer in our battle. I got 68, you see, which is very close in any case. Tesni's basic attack is 18, and the extra critical hit adds double the amount of WP to it, and since the enemy was weak to darkness, the damage caused is doubled. So the equation is 18 + 8 + 8 = 34 * 2 = 68. I know the maths can be a bit tough sometimes (and the numbers aren't going to get any smaller), but I'm trying to avoid future mistakes here.
  25. Ellaria pressed her hands together, relieved of her goddess's favour. "Thank you, Sylvania! We can win this now for sure! I will attack Goblin Demolitionist from the first row."
