  1. Byblos has a hard time keeping his face straight. "Ahem, that shouldn't be too hard of a task, since Eubric is not that large of a city. I'm sure you can walk from the eastern wall to the western wall in half of a day..." "Ah, you are interested in weaponry. There are too many arms deemed 'legendary' to list, but you might find the Treasury an interesting place to visit."
  2. "Haha, trying to make a deal with the devil? Didn't your mother warn you about that, apeman? No, the boy will stay with me no matter what. I realize this is a sour deal for you lot, so here's a token of my benevolence." Baba takes off her amulet of bones and tosses it to the party. Witch’s Talisman - suitable to witches only; makes poisoned attacks cause the badly poisoned effect instead "I think me and Skipper here are done with you now. Good riddance!" "No! Don't let her take me! Miss Cinnaaaa!!!" Baba turns herself and Bluto into a bird and a fish again, and whisks the boy with her in a blink of an eye. The frustrated party cannot do anything but to collect the water they came for. Now they had gathered all the ingredients for the recipe, so they could begin the journey back to Eubric as soon as they returned to Salmanda. Is there anything else the party wishes to do before that?
  3. Cinna empties one more vial to the pond, and now the pond shines brightly. Out of a sudden a ragged bird of prey flies to the heroes, carrying a fish on its talons. As it touches the ground, the bird and the fish transform into Baba and the unconscious Bluto. "In the nick of time, I'd say", the witch of the bog scolds the party. She then gently lays the Ziegfried boy into the shimmering fountain. Slowly Bluto opens his eyes. "W-what... Where am I? Miss Cinna...? How did we get here?" Then he looks at the ancient witch. "Who are you, madame?" "I am your new family, boy. Bid farewell to your friends now, for this is the last time you will ever see them." "What?! No! Miss Cinna, what is going on?!" What will the party say to the boy? 4. Are you serious? There has been an agreement that all new players should play a Mafia School game first before participating in an advanced game. Why are you undermining this agreement?
  5. This set looks fantastic! I doubt I'll have any money to buy it this year, though, with the other Monster Fighters and LotR sets coming up... I don't get this complaint. You can always leave the backwalls open when you build the set, can't you? Nobody's forcing you to follow the instructions to the teeth.
  6. The smell is the same as when they first arrived to the pond, only much weaker. It was caused by the wyvern befouling the water. It doesn't seem to take many more remedies to get the pond clean...
  7. Thormanil pours his remaining five remedies to the water, while Cinna adds seven remedies from her own stock for a total of 24 remedies poured in. The water slowly starts to get clean, and a faint shimmer emanates from it. It still has an odd smell to it, though.
  8. The water gets cleaner, but it is still looking far from healthy.
  9. OoC: Sorry, fixed it. Thothwick pours six remedies into the fountain. The water in that spot clears up, but there is still plenty of befouled water left in the pond.

Thormanil then gets damaged by the first Serpivine, suffering the loss of 4 health. Bartholomew sits out again while Thothwick misses. A poisoned enemy loses 1 health each turn. The party now stands at another fork of the road. Their options are to go south towards the fountain or north towards Salmanda.
  12. No, there is no rule about fighting without weapons in this game.
  13. Thank you, Mr. Expert, but this would've been a final boss battle, so it was supposed to be challenging, and players are known to survive much worse odds than this. Heck, there was a group of four Level 20 enemies in the quest, and the party beat them as well. It all depends on how the die rolls.

  15. Thanks for the compliments. I'm glad to hear you were not upset about the length of the quest, I had no idea it would be drawn out as much as it was, but life is life. Well, you had two tasks: 1) defeat Jolly Roger and 2) find Reno Bonaparte. Now that you know those were in fact one and the same, the only thing you really could do was to wander around until you found the solution. This was desinged to be a dungeon crawler quest, and I think that's exactly what it was. Of course! I meant to post them into the game topic, but I can just as well post them here. First floor: Second floor: Mind you that I removed some of the enemies from the first floor since the battles were getting excessive (the party did not use the rums as much as I thought). Also note that there was no real "third floor", all the stairs in the second floor lead to towers where the party would've been able to pull down a pirate flag to signal the Sunflower that Jolly Roger was dead. There were some battles and loot you missed, but aside from the final boss battle, they were nothing consequential. And Sham would not have lowered his prices anymore. If you would've roughed him up, he would've fled. Here you go! Note that the fight with him would've also included four Ji Pei guards and Dr. Gioconda. Vincent Legonardo would not have participated. Reno Bonaparte Type: Humanoid Level: 21 Health: 309/309 Special I: Jolly Roger – Reno starts laughing, recovering 50 health each round. Only a bottle of rum broken on his head will make him stop, for he hates the taste of it. Special II: Keelhaul – Causes 42 damage to the target. Used only when laughing. Drops: Conspirator (WP:11, darkness-elemental, suitable to knights and rogues)
  16. No you wouldn't have, because due to your decision you missed the "Airship Battle of Epicness" (Roger would have escaped on board the Ji Pei airship, but the party would've been able to follow him using the anchor rope, and face him on the deck of the airship). You would've gotten his sweet sword for defeating him, though. I'll post to the topic one last time once everyone's made up their decisions. I have already updated your profiles in the Heroes' Gallery with the respective reputation increases. A knight with the title of "the Barbarian"? Way to confuse a host, haha! Welcome to the game, anyway!

  18. Yes, you can just delete whatever keys you have from your inventory. They're not of any use anymore. EDIT: Oh, and you can delete the remaining rum bottles as well. They were quest-specific items as well.
  19. Cinna gets another magic burst, razing through the enemy line with her dark powers, causing 52 damage to the Bird-of-Paradise, killing it instantly, and 26 damage to each of the Serpivines. One of the Serpivines wraps Thormanil into a poisonous coil, causing the poisoned- and bound-effects on the barbarian. Bartholomew places three arrows on his new bow, but none of them affect the vermin snakes because of their elemental properties. Thothwick's shuriken hits the second Serpivine for 18 damage. Hoptet's roots of life restore Bartholomew back to full health and removes the negative effects from Thormanil before they manage to do harm to him. Three enemies remain. 20. Reno Bonaparte nodded to Eric and the other heroes, although he gave a glare to Maurice who had been the only one to object the plan. "Glad to hear you believe in freedom as much as I do, but if you want my gold, you will have to do exactly as I say. And that means all of you. I will not give up the key to that chest before I've been returned to my brother safe and sound. If anyone of you thinks of backstabbing me and telling the truth to Nemo afterwards, just remember that it will be your word against mine at that point. Now, pick up that chest and we'll get going." Reno takes off his pirate captain's hat and tosses it onto the table. With that, Jolly Roger has been hoisted down. The heroes struggle to carry the heavy chest as Reno leads them out of the shipwreck. On the stone stairs they encounter someone they had almost forgot already. "It's you!" shrieks Sham Poo as he comes face to face with Reno. "I thought those people came to kill you, but poor Sham Poo was bamboozled again. No, don't try to convince me that the actions of this lowlife Bonaparte are somehow justified. I've dealt with him plenty enough. Sham Poo will find another way home, and you can forget about your reduced prices!" The half-orcish merchant then runs off. Reno leads the heroes on, and inside the fortress they run into more familiar faces. "Uncle!" shouts Attina Bonaparte, and a smile spreads on her always so serious face. "Thank Neron and Neredice you are alive! So, did you nail that bastard Jolly Roger? I could not believe the resistance those pirates gave us. The cannons in this place are unlike anything I've ever seen. Their firepower and range are unbelievable, and we lost many ships. Suddenly the cannonfire just stopped, and we could move in to subdue the remaining hostiles." The uncle and niece then delve into a thorough conversation about the nature of this place, but the heroes see it best to just remain silent. And thus a journey back to Eubric on board "the Sunflower" begins... Back at Fort Bonaparte, the news of the pirates' demise and return of Reno is met with joy and thrill. Many lives were lost and the fleet suffered heavy damage, but the might of the family as the Wardens of the Crystalline Sea was not wavered. The admiral summons the heroes to his office to receive their rewards. "My brother already filled me in on all the details", Nemo Bonaparte says. "Too bad I could not hang that worthless Jolly Roger myself, but I think getting eaten alive by vicious sharkgulls is punishment enough. As promised, here is your reward of 1200 gold to split, and 50 more gold to each of you for giving me back my dear twin brother." "And you have the gratitude of our whole family now", Hestia Bonaparte adds. "So if we ever need more help from Heroica, we will definitely consider hiring you." "I too want to thank you for a courageous battle", says Attina. "It seems you single-handedly defeated most of the pirate crew inside the fortress." The heroes bid their goodbyes, but before they leave the fortress, Reno catches up with them. "Thank you for not exposing me", the traitorous Bonaparte says. "Here is the key to that chest. I hope our cooperation can continue in the future, for freedom shall prevail." The heroes nod to Reno, but inside they are still torn. Did they really make the right decision in the long run? Would Reno and the Ji Pei really be able to make Eubric a better, more free place to live? THE QUEST IS COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY! Back in Eubric, the heroes have one final task to do. They have the stolen Hinckwell perfumes in their possession, and returning them to the Hinckwells would please the family. However, each portion of the perfumes is worth 100 gold at the Marketplace. Now each hero can decide if they want to return their portion of the perfumes to the Hinckwells in exchange for an improved reputation among the merchant family, or keep them to sell forward. 23. The party turned towards the center of the bog. After walking for a while, they came to a watery clearing. They heard an odd, muffled voice, as if someone was talking below the surface. Then they spotted a pole sticking out of the water. They pulled it and dug the muddy water, and finally managed to dislodge the stick. "Aaaahhhh!" said the most peculiar looking broomstick the heroes had ever seen. "Free at last, yap yap yap! I'm absolutely fed up with this stinky swamp, yap yap! I can't even get a decent afternoon flight without hitting a branch and splashing down. Yap yap yappity-yap!" The skeletal broomstick then turned its attention towards the heroes. "Thanks a bunch, yap yap! Now if only you could take me away from the clutches of that nasty bitch who enchanted me, yappity-yap. Once I was a witch meself, feared and respected throughout the Babeleth Darklands. One fateful day I happened to fly over this bog with my trusty broomstick, saw a cottage with chicken legs below and thought that it must be another witch living there, yap yap yap. So I dropped down for some tea and light gossip, and look where it got me! Poor me, yappity-yap yap! Please don't take me back to that awful woman, yap yap!" What will the party respond?
