Mafia School: A Bedtime Story - Day Two
Sandy replied to Sandy's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
The residents of the Fairy Tale Castle enjoyed a delicious lunch consisting of bear stew and wolf ribs. It gave them strength and courage to start another arduous afternoon of voting. As they approached the ballroom and the Looking-Glass they pondered if they would get it right this time?. But their thoughts were interrupted by a disturbing sight. "Oh, you're warming up to me again, charmymarmy!" Cinderella exclaimed as she squeezed Prince Charming against her. The prince mouthed a soundless "help!" to the others. It is now time to vote again. You have a maximum of 48 hours to reach a conviction, which takes 7 votes against one player. Current Vote Tally: Red Riding Hood/Lord of the Fries: 5 (penalty for not posting in Day One) -
No, all enemies deal non-elemental damage by default. But some QMs (me included) have made some specials dealing certain elemental damage to the party. It's up to the QMs how they wish to use these elemental properties in their battles.

I have already answered a question about Dastan in the Library in the past, just look it up. I'm kinda busy at the moment, if you haven't noticed...

There will actually be a third one as well, by Brickdoctor, and yes, they very much planned this. How cool is that? I just hope there's enough players for all these quests. I might just have to make Ellaria ditch her newborn baby to someone and go questing instead.

That's a bit creepy, I must say, but thanks anyway...

It was actually Rick or someone else, I went to edit it only to find out it was already changed. Thanks to whoever did it for watching my back! I'm just a little sluggish and sloppy-eyed for having stared at this screen for hours, editing photos and writing and formatting...

And Day Two is now up. Many thanks to Poison Ivy, The_Customizer and Superficial Username for participating - as shortlived as it was.

For the entire night, one image haunted in the minds of the inhabitants of the Fairy Tale Castle: Pinocchio, sleeping solemnly on the workbench in his room as he was supposed to be. This is what the Looking-Glass showed them, that the puppetman they convicted was truly innocent, a good guy after all. In the morning, another horrifying sight awaited them. It was the corpses of the two great beasts, the Big Bad Wolf and Mr. Bear, in the aftermath of a bloody struggle. Mr. Bear had ripped the wolf into little pieces with his mighty jaws and claws, but someone had thrown a handaxe deep into his spine. The others got excited that the killer had tasted his own medicine, but it soon became evident that they were in fact both good guys. The situation had just made Mr. Bear turn on a friend. With three of the innocent residents down, the paranoia spread inside the castle. At this rate, the murderer would catch them all in no time! They had to make a wiser choice today, or suffer the consequences. Mementos of the deceased were stored into the castle's vault: The lying nose of Pinocchio that Cinderella once chopped off to use to her liking... The jolly green hat of Mr. Bear that was now spotted with blood after his gruesome deed... And the sturdy armor of the Big Bad Wolf that did not protect him after all... "No way! Is that really how the story goes?!" Nico shouts as his big brother continues the tale in the morning. "I told ya it would be scary, didn't I? If ya can't handle it..." "No, I can take it! I need to find out what happens to the good guys. I need to..." Nico sinks into dark thoughts as he packs his school bag for the day. PLAYERS: palathadric as Aladdin Flipz as Cinderella Darth Nihilus as Goldilocks Piratedave84 as Jack JaseTJ as the Little Mermaid Jackjonespaw as Prince Charming Dakar A as the Puss-In-Boots RPGer as Rapunzel Lord of the Fries as the Red Riding Hood Chromeknight as the Sleeping Beauty LEGOman273 as Snow White Alex the Great as the White Rabbit Donut as the Wicked Witch Poison Ivy as Pinocchio (Good Guy) - Convicted on Day One The_Customizer as the Big Bad Wolf (Good Guy) - Killed on Night One Superficial Username as Mr. Bear (Good Guy) - Killed on Night One RULES: 1. Each player will be given a character to play, who will be aligned with either the Good Guys or the Bad Guys. To win the game, the Good Guys must vote or kill off all the Bad Guys, while the Bad Guys need to outnumber the Good Guys. There are no other factions in this game. 2. Each day will be played out in its own topic. During a day you will be able to vote to lynch a player. Voting must be done in the following format; Vote: Character (Player). Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format; Unvote: Character (Player). No other format will be accepted. A majority vote is required to lynch a player, meaning that over half of the remaining players must vote for the same player to warrant a lynch. 3. A game day will last a maximum of 72 hours. You may not vote in the first 24 hours. The day will end when a majority vote has been reached. After the day has concluded, a night will commence, which will last a maximum of 48 hours. Night actions must be sent to the host in the first 24 hours of the night stage. 4. The alignment of lynched players, as well as those that died during the night, will be revealed at the beginning of the next day. 5. You may not quote or pretend to quote anything sent to you by the game host via PM. This includes all the details of your character and role, as well as any night action results. Role claims and reporting of night action results are acceptable, but in your own words only. Do not attempt to use the structure of your role PM to your advantage. 6. Do not play the game outside the day threads. Similarly, do not post out-of-character inside the day threads. Game tactics and roles may only be discussed in the game thread or via PM with other players. Private discussion is done at your own risk and should be treated as part of the game. 7. If you are dead, you may not post in thread or discuss the game with any of the players. Any information you had becomes void, and may not be passed on. 8. You may not edit your posts. 9. You must post in every day thread. 10. If you encounter a problem or have a question, please contact your Mafia School teacher via PM. 11. Violation of the above rules will result in a 5 vote penalty against you on your first offence, and the death of your character on your second offence. Voting begins in 24 hours from now. There are 13 players left, so it takes 7 votes to convict someone.

These two are fine examples of playing the game outside the Day-topics, which is forbidden in the rules. So stop doing that! I'm posting Day Two as we speak, so please hold your horses for a little while more.

Sorry, Capt.JohnPaul, I misinterpreted Brickandparts earlier post and thought you forgot how undead enemies are damaged. It seems you knew it all along. The FAQ clearly states how to damage undead enemies, so we can now leave this confusion behind us. This is what I think about stacked elements in weapons: Opposing effects cancel each other out while same effects multiply the power. So for example a weapon with both a Ruby and an Aquamarine imbued in it causes normal damage against fiery enemies, while a weapon with an Aquamarine and Garnet imbued causes quadruple damage against fiery enemies. This does not apply to weapons with several elements that the enemy is immune to, though, because nothing can be "twice as immune" to anything.

May I remind you that the nights last a maximum of 48 hours. I've now sent all the night action results, but Day 2 won't launch until later today since I've got to socialize before that.
-
Wait, wait, wait... Capt.JohnPaul, I thought you were experienced enough to know that if a player's health falls to zero, he has to be revived before he can be healed again - that's why there's Phoenix Essences in the game. And undead enemies can only be damaged by elemental attacks or spells. This is your second time hosting a quest, I shouldn't be reminding you of basic rules like this anymore...

Amazing Race airs in Finland as well. In fact, it's my favorite reality contest. But really, this is nothing like that.
-
The penalty votes are extra, it doesn't mean five players have to vote for Lord of the Fries on Day 2. As Rick said, you can only unvote your own votes.
-
Welcome to the game, That_Guy! Glad to have an errand god joining our ranks. You are our 82nd player.
-
Nice to see that Lord of the Fries has finally joined us. He will be allowed to continue in the game, but will suffer the 5 vote penalty on the next voting for breaking the rule of not posting into a Day-topic. In the meanwhile, keep those night actions coming!

A Reminder to Heroica Players (and all members)
Sandy replied to Shadows's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
If I may make a suggestion to all of you who are pondering which info to keep in the signature and which to move to the "About Me" in your page: If you're a Heroica RPG player but also have your Mafia game records in your sig, move the Mafia history into your profile page, since it's not current info and as you participate in more games you'll need more space for it. Just check out my "About Me" for an example. There's no way in hell I could fit all that in my sig. -
Day One is now over, and we now enter the first Night. If anyone is still confused about what's supposed to happen during the night, please PM me (after you've read the lessons I gave you thoroughly). I'll let it slip by just this once, since I failed to notice it even myself and you realized yourself that you broke the rule. The penalty would have not affected the outcome, after all. I guess I have to start searching for a replacement to Lord of the Fries now...

Mafia School: A Bedtime Story - Day One
Sandy replied to Sandy's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Vote Tally: Pinocchio/Poison Ivy: 9 (Flipz, LEGOman273, Alex the Great, The_Customizer, Superficial Username, Jackjonespaw, Dakar A, JaseTJ, palathadric) Cinderella/Flipz: 1 (RPGer) Red Riding Hood/Lord of the Fries: 1 (Piratedave84) Prince Charming/Jackjonespaw: 1 (Darth Nihilus) White Rabbit/Alex the Great: 1 (Chromeknight) Non-voters: 3 (Poison Ivy, Lord of the Fries, Donut) Note: Jackjonespaw's unvote does not count since it was not even near to the proper format. RPGer's second vote does not count since he did not unvote first. This means that Poison Ivy has been convicted and the day ends. Evening has fallen upon the Fairy Tale Castle. The residents have turned against Pinocchio. "I'm not a bad guy! Look at my nose, I'm not lying! Please don't do this to me!" the puppetman screams as the others mercilessly pick him up and toss him through the enchanted mirror. "No, let me out!" Pinocchio shouts and bangs on the mirror from the other side. "Everything's all wonky here! Please, help me..." The living puppet's voice quiets down as his image fades from the Looking-Glass. He has been engulfed by the Mirror World. The others stare at the mirror, waiting for some kind of signal to show if they were right in their conviction. Just as they begin to turn away, an image starts to form on the surface of the mirror... "...And that was all for tonight", Gio finishes. "Now, nighty night!" "Huh?! You can't stop there!" Nico shouts, sitting up in his bed. "Was he bad or good, I need to know!" "You get a good night's sleep and I'll tell ya in the morning, okay?" Gio tucks his baby brother to bed and switches off the light as he leaves the room. But of course Nico can't sleep well, not with the story ending like that. The events of the Fairy Tale Castle come back to haunt his dreams. We enter the first Night phase. Please send your possible night actions within 24 hours from now. -
I agree. Bricksandparts, please do not change the core mechanics of this game like that, it is unfair to other players who have fought their way through stacks of enemies yet still gained only one level (or less) per fight. I do like adding the height difference into the battles as a flavour, but I won't make an additional rule about it. Please beware adding too many new variables, though, or your battles might soon become unmanageable.
