  1. Party: Bartholomew Docken (played by Brickdoctor) Level 18 Ranger *scary* *encouraged* Power: 23 46 Health: 29/29 Gold: 289 Inventory: Mockthril Longbow (WP:5), Dread Hat (enemies lower than half of wearer's level won't attack directly), Scarab Shield (SP:5, unsuitable), Phoenix Essence, Mead, Smoke Bomb, Bedroll, Crystal Chalice Cinna the Dark (played by darkdragon) *Party Leader* Level 15½ Mage Power: 20 Defence: 2 Health: 19/19 Ether: 12/19 Gold: 120 Inventory: Nimbus Broomstick (WP:5, ranged), Pongcanis Mage Staff (WP:5), Shadeaux Staff (WP:4), Aurora Helmet (SP:2, null fire), Amethyst (Darkness), Scroll of Sleep, 6 Grand Potions, Tonic, Remedy, Phoenix Essence, 2 Smelling Salts, Bedroll, Shovel, Gold Ore, Golden Scorpion Venom, Undead Unicorn's Horn, Demonic Dust, Last Wish Powder Thormanil Nihai (played by swils) Level 16 Barbarian *encouraged* Power: 23 46 Defence: 3 Health: 23/23 Gold: 45 Inventory: Thundering Shadeaux Axes (WP:6, lightning-elemental), Tongue on a Stick (WP:1, Miss>Aim), Dull Greataxe (WP:3), Sabre (WP:8, not suitable), Bright Armor (SP:3, null darkness), 2 Potions, Phoenix Essence, Mead, Pickaxe, Gold Bar Thothwick (played by Professor Flitwick) Level 12 Rogue *lucky* Power: 20 (17 for ranged attacks) Health: 23/23 Gold: 312 Inventory: Sabre (WP:8), Chain Whip (WP:6), Shuriken (WP:5, ranged, retrievable, *poisoned*), Venom, Bedroll, Telescope Hoptet (NPC, controlled by Professor Flitwick) Level 18½ Druid Power: 21 Health: 20/25 Ether: 9/19 Gold: 0 Inventory: Quarterstaff (WP:3), Stick (WP:1), Nocturne Amorella The party makes the decision to leave Bluto at Baba's care with heavy hearts. Hoptet carries the unconscious boy to the hut and lays all his old equipment next to him. A wide grin spreads on the witch's thin lips. "You have made the right decision. Now all you have to do is to destroy that pesky wyvern and purify the fountain so that I can use the water to remove the boy's fever. Remember, you have only a few days before the boy passes away." The party slowly picks up Baba's treachery. Their faces turn red with anger and shock. The means to heal the boy had been under their noses this whole time! "Why the long faces? I kept my end of the bargain, now I expect you to do yours. Do not worry, I will feed the boy some herbal infusions that will ease his symptoms until you finish your task." Thormanil lets out a roar, draws his axes and rushes towards the witch, but an invisible barrier sends him flailing on his back. "Now behave, or I will stop being cooperative. The boy will stay with me, but it is up to you if he lives or dies. You should not even try to turn your blades against me. I usually do not get involved in the matter of mortals, but if a mosquito stings me enough times I will swat it, make no doubt about it. You might all be mere mosquitos to me, but even my patience has limits." The heroes stare incredulously at the ruthless owl-eyed witch. Could the old hag really be as mighty as she claims? Even immortal?! "Now go, face that wyvern but beware its wings and its lethally poisonous breath. Oh, let me get you a map of this bog to ease your navigation. I believe we are currently situated on the north-eastern corner of Danab's Fountain. You can find the wyvern on the southern edge of the pond." Feeling helpless against the witch, the party must succumb to the consequences of their choice.

There is no sight of any prisoners within the jail cell, despite Dr. Monalisa's words, so perhaps there is another cell somewhere inside the fortress.
  3. Results of Round Two of the Succubus Battle: >Cinna vs. Will-o'-the-Wisp D - Miss Thormanil vs. Will-o'-the-Wisp D - Shield (Frenzy) Thothwick vs. Succubus - Critical Hit >Bartholomew vs. Succubus - Critical Hit >Hoptep vs. Succubus - Hit Cinna misses her strike against the remaining Will-o'-the-Wisp, but Thormanil defeats it by going into another frenzy that also causes 22 damage against the Succubus. Thothwick gets a good hit on the demon, dealing 27 damage. So does Bartholomew, whose arrow also causes 27 damage. Hoptet's strike depletes the Succubus' health by 21 more points. One weak enemy remains so the rest of the battle will be played automatically. Enemies: Succubus Type: Demon, Fiery Level: 20 Health: 41/166 Special I: Entice – Causes the enamored-effect to the opponents that are attracted to women, making them unable to target the Succubus for three turns or until the effect is remedied. Thothwick then mugs the Succubus for 35 damage and an equal amount of gold. Bartholomew then ends the battle with a swift arrow. The Succubus bursts into flames and disappears howling back to where she was summoned from. THE BATTLE IS VICTORIOUS! All party members gain half of a level. The enemies drop some Demonic Dust as well as some Phoenix Essence. Party: Bartholomew Docken (played by Brickdoctor) Level 18 Ranger *scary* Power: 23 Health: 19/29 Gold: 289 Inventory: Mockthril Longbow (WP:5), Dread Hat (enemies lower than half of wearer's level won't attack directly), Scarab Shield (SP:5, unsuitable), Phoenix Essence, 2 Meads, Smoke Bomb, Bedroll, Crystal Chalice Cinna the Dark (played by darkdragon) *Party Leader* Level 15½ Mage Power: 20 Defence: 2 Health: 19/19 Ether: 12/19 Gold: 120 Inventory: Nimbus Broomstick (WP:5, ranged), Pongcanis Mage Staff (WP:5), Shadeaux Staff (WP:4), Aurora Helmet (SP:2, null fire), Amethyst (Darkness), Scroll of Sleep, 6 Grand Potions, Tonic, Remedy, Phoenix Essence, 2 Smelling Salts, Bedroll, Shovel, Gold Ore, Golden Scorpion Venom, Undead Unicorn's Horn, Last Wish Powder Thormanil Nihai (played by swils) Level 16 Barbarian Power: 23 Defence: 3 Health: 23/23 Gold: 45 Inventory: Thundering Shadeaux Axes (WP:6, lightning-elemental), Tongue on a Stick (WP:1, Miss>Aim), Dull Greataxe (WP:3), Sabre (WP:8, not suitable), Bright Armor (SP:3, null darkness), 2 Potions, 2 Meads, Pickaxe, Gold Bar Thothwick (played by Professor Flitwick) Level 12 Rogue Power: 20 (17 for ranged attacks) Health: 13/23 Gold: 312 Inventory: Sabre (WP:8), Chain Whip (WP:6), Shuriken (WP:5, ranged, retrievable), 2 Venoms, Nostrum, Bedroll, Telescope Hoptet (NPC, controlled by Professor Flitwick) Level 18½ Druid Power: 21 Health: 20/25 Ether: 11/19 Gold: 0 Inventory: Quarterstaff (WP:3), Stick (WP:1), Anchor (WP:6, unsuitable), Harpoon (WP:3, ranged, unsuitable), Aquamarine (Water), Nocturne Amorella Party Leader, how will the spoils of the battle be divided? Demonic Dust - Unholy ash left behind by a banished demon. Phoenix Essence – Revives a fallen ally with full health during a battle. The heroes were sweating heavily after the fiery battle in the dense bog, but now they had collected all the ingredients for the soul-restoring recipe - except the water from Danab's Fountain. Only one enemy was standing on their way anymore, but from what they had seen and heard, this wyvern was no walk in the park. The party had to be well-prepared in order to beat the drake. There was also the undecided situation with Bluto Ziegfried. The party had been presented with two choices: save the boy by making him undead, or let Baba cure him at the cost of leaving him behind to this swamp. If they would not choose, the boy would be dead within days. What is the party's next course of action?
  4. I just remembered them myself. I'm currently sending their profiles to Zepher.
  5. A thousand thanks to Zepher for compiling the list of NPCs! I will add a link of it to the index very soon. And the missing NPCs have been sent to Zepher, so the list should be updated soon. Like Zepher said, you can use most of my NPCs in any quest you're planning if you just check with me first.
  6. Results of Round One of the Succubus Battle: >Cinna vs. Will-o'-the-Wisp A - Special Damage Thormanil vs. Will-o'-the-Wisp D - Shield (Frenzy) >Thothwick (Shuriken) vs. Will-o'-the-Wisp B - Shield (Mug) >Bartholomew vs. Succubus - Aim >Hoptep vs. Will-o'-the-Wisp C - Critical Hit The battle against the demon that Baba summoned begins. Immediately the first Will-o'-the-Wisp self-explodes, dividing it's remaining 42 health by damaging all heroes by 5 points, except Cinna who is protected from fire altogether and Thormanil who is protected by his armor so that he only receives 2 damage, and restoring 5 health to the succubus and 4 health to the other wisps. Thormanil then goes into a frenzy, causing 22 damage to all enemies. Thothwick then uses his shuriken to mug the second Will-o'-the-Wisp, knocking it out and receiving 20 gold, equal to its remaining health. Bartholomew aims at the Succubus and deals 5 damage. Hoptet gets a critical hit on the third wisp, taking it out as well. Only two enemies remain after a successful round. Enemies: Will-o´-the-Wisp D Type: Fiery Level: 7 Health: 20/42 Special: Self-Explode – Depletes the remaining health to cause fire-elemental damage to all opponents and restore health to all other allies by dividing the value of the sacrificed health equally. Once again the jailor tries to capture Ad-Hoh, but fails. Hybros does another double-mugging, causing 132 damage and scoring 132 more gold. Eric finishes off the pirate jailor, who didn't turn out to be that tough after all. THE BATTLE IS VICTORIOUS! All party members gain half of a level. The enemy drops the jail keys. Now the party must decide where to go next. There's two sets of stairs back on the hallway they came through, the metallic and the stonework staircases, both leading up and down.
  8. OoC: Encouraged-effect only affects normal hits, not the critical bonus (that's how I've calculated it this whole time, at least), so it's 10+13 = 23 x2 = 46 + (10 x2) = 66 + 66 = 132. I don't know if for clarity's sake the mead should also affect the critical bonus as well... And the jailor spent two ether in vain in trying to cage Ad-Hoh.
  9. Dear Lexie, I thank you for you letter, and I feel it is time I told you the truth. I hope you understand. In Atticus' island I realized I was with child. In fact, I have been pregnant since before I first came to Eubric. I have felt increasingly ill ever since we returned to Eubric, and currently I am in no condition to even leave my room, let alone come visit you at the Heroica Hall. I would not feel deserving to even show my face there in my weakened state anyway. It is unbecoming for "heroes" to be pregnant, is it not? Half the men in Heroica would be giving me scornful looks while the other half would fussing over me to no end. The circumstances in which this child was conceived were highly traumatizing to me, so I hope you do not judge me for this illegitimate pregancy. I feel afraid and lonely, and a visit from a friend would mean the world to me right now. I did not think I had true friends until I received letters from you and Tarn. You can find me at Old Spriggan's Apotechary on Marlin Road, if you still want to see me. Thank you again. Hoping to hear back from you. ~Ellaria
  10. Is two kinds of seductive enemies too many? I've prepared 30 different kinds of enemies for the quest, I don't think two that can instill the "enamored"-effect out of that bunch is that much. Besides, there is a roleplay-related reason to add another seductress into the quest, as a sort of continuation for the first battle on the ship. But it's nice that you keep on showing the interest in my quests, Tanma, even if it is by picking them apart.
  11. I hope the people on my quests aren't totally fed up yet, even though both of the quests have gone on much longer than anticipated. I can say that both parties are possibly on their penultimate battle, depending on their choices before facing the final bosses. This means that the quests might both be over by the end of this week. So enjoy the quests while they still last! I will have to make a mental note on not to include so many battles/other things to do into one quest, but at least many of you are now past the level 15 mark.
  12. "It seems you feel confident in your ability to banish the demon I am about to summon. So be it. Let us begin the ritual!" Baba weaves the forces of the surrounding nature into a cryptic glowing circle in front of the hut. The party members grip their weapons as a hot burst of flames erupt from the summoning circle and form into a female demon accompanied by four lesser fire spirits. "Ah, it feels good to be back!" the demoness purrs, caressing her curvy red body that is covered by nothing but strips of gold. "Come on, boys, let us make love, not war!" PREPARE FOR BATTLE! 13. Dear Tarn, It is quite a wonder that your letter should arrive in such a time in my life. Your words are soothing, but fear is overcoming me. I must tell you, I am with child. It seems I already was when we went on a quest together, I just did not know it yet at that time. I am scared and alone. In such a weakened state, my place is not at the Hall so you will not find me there. When you return to Eubric, it would please me greatly if you came to visit me at Old Spriggan's Apotechary on Marlin Road. It is my current lodging place, and the elderly pharmacist has promised to help me deliver this child when the time is due. I should have months to go still, but I am feeling increasingly ill. I fear that the labour will be a hard one, but I pray to my goddess every day that both me and the baby will survive. I am so afraid... I hope you don't think any less of me upon reading this letter, as I wish to hear from you again soon. May Sylvania bless you on your quest and keep you safe. Your friend, ~Ellaria
  14. OoC: Sorry, I seem to have missed two items that were dropped from the previous battle. Darkdragon, please deal them as you see best. Grand Potion – Restores 25 health to the target. Phoenix Essence – Revives a fallen ally with full health during a battle. "Yes, no questions about it. I do not need gold, I do not seek fame. I am a lonely old witch, I crave for the company of youth. This boy will become my apprentice, he will learn more from me than he would learn from anyone else. He is from a great line of wizards, this is practically his destiny. When the only other option is to send him to his grave, who are you to deny it from him?" The witch then glances at the party wryly. "Are you ready to face the demon yet? Very few people fight a demon voluntarily, so I just want to make sure you are prepared."

The Pirate Jailor encloses Eric into an ethereal cage, preventing him from participating in the battle unless he is freed by an elemental attack. Hybros mugs the jailor not once, but twice in a row, causing a total of 132 damage and earning 132 gold from the strikes. The jailor then tries to cage Ad-Hoh as well, but his robe protects him again. Erdathcath shoots three arrows into the jailor, causing a total of 54 damage. However, Christopher is put into an ethereal cage as well. Seeing two of his companions incapacitated, Maurice makes a desperate lunge at the jailor, dealing 36 damage. The enemy is much weaker now, but the party is also two members down. 16. There has been talk about them, but I'm in no position to grant tags. Draggy?
  17. Congratulations, Foog and Pandy! And yes indeed, all aspiring Mafia Players can look forward to March, when Mafia School: Shinobi Ultimatum launches. By the way, there being two Japan-themed Mafia games back to back is a pure coincidence.
  18. OoC: I'm so sorry, I did totally forget to roll twice for you... Let's me edit the results. Please resend your actions for round two, everyone. Results of Round One of the Jailor Battle: Eric vs. Pirate Jailor - Shield (Frenzy) >Hybros (Shuriken of Mercutio) vs. Pirate Jailor - Special Damage/Hit >Hybros (Throwing Knife) vs. Pirate Jailor - Hit/Critical Hit >Ad-Hoh (Darkness) vs. Pirate Jailor - Special Damage >Erdatcath vs. Pirate Jailor - Aim Christopher vs. Pirate Jailor - Shield (Sentinel) >Maurice vs. Pirate Jailor - Miss Eric starts the battle by going into a frenzy, dealing 24 damage to the jailor. The lucky Hybros throws both the Shuriken of Mercutio and his Throwing Knife, the first dealing 36 damage and the second 41 damage. The jailor then tries to cast the cage on Ad-Hoh, but the mage's robe protects him. Erdathcath aims at the enemy for 5 damage. Christopher takes upon the Sentinel-position, protecting everyone from damage during the next round. Maurice's encouraged attack misses. The enemy is still strong. 19. I have to make a decision on this unparalleled situation, but I'd say the most logical solution is that Sentinel protects from all damage for the round, including friendly fire. I'll add this to the FAQ.
  20. OoC: Trading items takes both the giver and the receiver's turns, but nothing stops someone from using a mead on you. Theres's a difference. OoC: Hybros. He will take damage but the cage will be broken - if the spell hits, that is.
  21. "Demonic dust is often left behind when a demon is banished from this realm. I can easily summon a demon for you free of charge, but you will have to defeat it yourself. I cannot be bothered to waste my time on trivial errands such as that." The witch then purses her thin lips. "Speaking of trivial errands, have you by any chance seen my broomstick anywhere? It has a mind of its own so it can be anywhere around here. I think I upset it by swiping some ashes with it, so it flew out of the window."
  22. You can do business, but you are not psychic. I did not call you a rogue, I was referring to Darth Nihilous's character. I'm pretty sure nobody will think that a forestman is anything other than a ranger.
  23. OoC: Throwing a bomb at an ally will affect the whole party.
  24. ATTENTION EVERONE! The Ethereal Letters is getting overly ridiculous. My biggest gripe is that you are not staying in character when it comes to what your character knows and is able to do. These are a few of the most glaring examples: Who gave you permission to tamper with the event? How exactly can a rogue manipulate a magical mailing system? You are not in the quest, how would your character know these people have acquired such items? The bottom line is that if this sort of behaviour continues, I will close the event earlier than planned. So please use the event as it was meant to be used.
  25. Why not, if kept at moderation. Not "you found a twig, LEVEL UP!".
