Then why doesn't the description say that? You can't just assume the players know how the thing works. Players are devious creatures, they will try to abuse your creation whichever way they can, always seeking pig holes to squirm through, trust me. ...Oops, this was on a public discussion?

I wish you would've negotiated with me before putting an item like this into play, as it adds a completely new mechanic to this game. Before you create this type of items for this game, you need to consider what effects it has not only in your quest but beyond that as well. You also need to make sure the player who gets it knows how it works, even in the more unlikely scenarios. To put it frankly, this is a balance-breaking item. Apparently the amount of spiders is unlimited and one can potentially be summoned every round if the odds are on their side. And you also said the owner could change the summoned creature at whim? Does that include it's abilities and power as well? And since it's limited to clerics and mages, the summoning should at least consume ether. Unless you somehow rebalance it, I'm afraid I can't let Pandora keep the item beyond your quest.

The sign-ups for my Mafia School game are now officially open, so seize the moment and join the fun. -
“Can you tell me a bedtime story, big bro?” Nico asks one night. “Nah, bedtime stories are for babies”, Gio replies and ruffles Nico’s hair. “Tell me a real scary one, then!” “You’ll just wet your bed.” “Nuh-uh! I promise!” “Alright then, you asked for it.” And Gio begins. Once upon a time in a land far, far away there stood a castle on a hill. It was the most dope castle you can imagine. All your fairytale homies lived there. See, there’s Cinderella and Pinocchio, and there’s the Big Bad Wolf with Red Riding Hood and the Puss-in-Boots. But life was not cool inside the castle, ‘cause some of the residents were foul and wanted to get rid of the others so they could have the whole castle with all of its bling to themselves. So every night one of the good guys was found dead, brutally butchered by these bad guys. “Why didn’t the good guys call the police?” Nico interrupted. “Do you want to hear this or not?” Gio said, raising his brow. “Sorry…” Nobody knew who the bad guys among them were, but something had to be done. That’s why the people decided they would choose one of them each day to throw into the Looking-Glass which would reveal the truth about that person. However, once thrown in nobody could ever return from the Mirror World. The good guys had to be quick, before the bad guys would slaughter them all. “But how would the people know who to pick? What if they chose one of the good guys by accident?” Nico asked. “Well, these are fairytale folks we’re talking about. They have special superpowers on their side, but so do the bad guys. But hey, now it’s time for you to get some z’s. Let’s continue this story another night.” “That wasn’t a very scary story, big bro”, Nico scolded. “Oh trust me; it’s going to get scary very soon. G’night!” Welcome to learn how to play the deviously addictive game called Mafia through this peculiar bed time story. This Mafia School game is open to all Eurobricks members who want to learn how to play Mafia games, or simply brush up their skills. Note that passing a Mafia School game is currently required in order to play the regular Mafia games on this forum. Veteran players will not be chosen - and don't bother trying to work your way around this, I know who you are. In order to apply to this fairest game of them all, you need to answer these two questions: 1. Why should you be chosen to play this game? 2. What is your favorite fairy tale and why? There are sixteen spots open, and the sign-ups close in about a week. Remember that this game will teach you all you need to know about Mafia, so no previous experience or knowledge about the games is required. You still need good writing skills and some common sense in order to play, though, so illiteral idiots need not to apply. See you at school!

But what if I'm a gay guy who does not care about pretentious gender borders? Would it affect your logical process?

Well, I am a Gemini, so I often feel like there's two different people inside my head.

You're exactly correct, plus a little blu-tack to attach the tube to the fig's back. I hope it gives the illusion of an extra-long braid like it's intended to do. -
Haha, if I did that I would've exploded from madness a long time ago. But if I'm a woman, am I lying in my profile, then? The plot thickens...
-
I'm alright with it, if it's kept at moderation and not applied to every quest out there. Especially in quests with plenty of battles in them, giving levels from figuring out something should not be necessary. Now there's a puzzle for you to solve.

No, I have not heard about it before this. There are a whole lot of fairy tale parodies out there, so if something in my game seems like its been done before, it probably is. I'm trying to give this theme another twist to make the storyline deeper than just a bunch of stereotypes whacking each other out. You'll see exactly what I mean when I post the sign-up topic. But before that, here are the remaining six player characters. Please note that I have not chosen their alignments at this point, it will be done in a completely random process after the players have been picked. -
I don't know if it's been clear enough, but Hunters get to keep their favoured type of enemy from battle to battle. They can only change it by rolling a SHIELD in a battle, though.

Alright, I'm sure many of you have eagerly waited for a new Mafia School game to start, so I'm pleased to announce that the sign-ups for the next installment (hosted by me) start next week. However, since I didn't want to host another game with ninjas right after badboytje, I changed the theme of my game. Let me introduce... Find out next week what it is all about. -
You had seven full days to spend in Salmanda before Zelda would've perished, so you ended up having one full day to spare. You're right, but that was my fault. One of the rewards for completing Quest#14 was a full level, but I forgot to take the scaled experience into consideration. Since Docken will get one third of a level from battles from now on, his level should be 20 and 1/3.

1) The nightly rumours were there to guide you in the right direction, since there were quite a lot of options for you guys. They were not prewritten. 2) No, although I would've let you fight her if you would've chosen to. Of course she would've been unbeatable. 3) At the Guild of Invision you would've met Madame Ladybug who would've given you the ingredients, but instead of an undead unicorn's horn they would've given you a common unicorn's horn, which would've allowed Abraxas to take over Zelda and turn her into a demon as well. This would've happened if you had taken the unicorn's horn too soon in the menagerie, too. You would've been forced to kill Zelda, but you would've gained improved reputation with the alchemists. Here's the stats for the demonic Zelda: Bride of Abraxas Type: Demon Level: 25 Health: 666/666 Special I: Pride – Transfers 6 health from each opponent to self. Special II: Prejudice – Causes blinded-effect to all opponents. Special III: Perdition – Instantly knocks out the target. Drops: Veil of Sin (protects from sealed-effect) Note: Special skills will alter in the listed order. 4) I have no future plans for Hoptet, so he's all yours. You can't take him with you on quests, though. As for Scaro, you'll just have to wait and see.

I really don't think any of the effects are "gamebreaking", otherwise I would not have included them. It is true though that spamming and piling the effects on the enemies the party can win without a sweat. That's why there is a limit on how long the effect lasts before it has to be cast again, and nowadays there's also a chance the spell fails. I am willing to increase the ether cost to prevent spamming, but as always this system needs to be as simple as possible, so I'm not going to rank the scrolls or give an individual ether cost to them. There's already almost too many factors to take in for a human being. I'm glad there's an edit-button to cover up all those times I've screwed up the battle results.

A commendable topic, even though I'm not a modder myself. I'm glad that after years and years of AFOL feedback, TLG has started to produce more female figs and sell them in the cheaper sets as well. I'ts very telling that there were only two female minifigs in the Collectable Minifig Series 1 while the newest series both include five female figs. Like I said, I'm not a modder, but I buy female figs from Bricklink. A LEGO set also has more appeal to me if there's a (new) female fig involved, an example being the Car and Camper set which I probably would not buy if there wasn't a new female torso in it.

Aaahh, I've completely forgotten that I signed up for this! *oh* I'll try to whip up something in a week, but please forgive me if I don't make it in time. Too many damn projects.
-
I thought about that too, and for simplicity's sake I agree with you. If my poor math is correct, there's only 25% chance of the confused enemy to actually hit an ally, which seems underpowered. Maybe I should raise the ether cost of the scroll spells to balance their use? Would 5 ether be too much?
-
Yeah, I was actually thinking of giving Ellaria the special job class of "Mother". Her Shield Skill would be "Dirty Diaper", which would instantly kill anyone it hit.
-
Glad you liked it. Sorry I didn't ask you and Peppy for permission to use your characters as "wetnurses" first, but I thought you'd both be alright with it.

There was a small apotechary on Marlin Road, and on the second floor of that apotechary a shrill cry of a newborn baby was heard. Ellaria Arbour was not sure if the tears rolling down her cheeks were tears of happiness or sorrow or just plain relief that the ordeal was over. But when she got the infant wrapped into a warm blanket on her arms for the first time, she no longer hesitated. She was in love. "Oh, Ella!" Alexis gasped from her bedside. "She is so beautiful!" "Well, as beautiful as bloody lumps of flesh get", Tesni retorted from the other side. "I kid, you two look precious together." Ellaria looked at her two friends who had come to help her get through the labour. "Thank you, both of you. It means so much to me that you are here..." "Have you thought of a name yet?" Alexis asked, failing to hide her enthusiasm. Ellaria looked at the tiny little thing on her lap. The infant girl stared up straight into her eyes, as if she saw into her soul. Ellaria knew at that moment that all the hardships had been worth this. It could only get better from here on out. She then nodded. "Elpis. My speck of hope." ~*~*~*~ Meanwhile, at the Heroica Hall, another mother was worrying about the fate of her only son. Some heroes had brought Scheherazade news that they had met her son Sham in a pirate hideout. They did not know if he had gotten out safely. "Momma?" At first the orc matron thought she had imagined the voice, but when she heard it again she turned and saw her son alive and well. Immediately Scheherazade rushed to embrace Sham. "Where have you been all this time?" she demanded to know. "How did you get out of that pirate lair? You had me worried sick, I'll let you know!" "I'm sorry, momma. I've been travelling all around the Kingdoms, seeing many wonders and making much profit." "Ahaha, I knew it!" Scheherazade laughed, clapping her hands. "I'm so proud of you, son! Now we can buy our own inn, just like I have always dreamt of!" "Umm, I wasn't finished..." Sham muttered, taking a sudden interest at his feet. "I actually had to give it all away to pay the trip back here. But aren't you glad to see me safe and sound? Oh, and I need some gold to get my business rolling again, so..." Scheherazade's eyes flared. "What?! You buffoon! I've already spent a small fortune to your enterprises, and you just throw it all away! And you dare to come begging for more?! You are every bit as worthless as your father! Get out of my sight this instant, and don't come back until you've doubled the amount of gold I've given to you! GET OUT!" The newest members of Heroica couldn't help but to laugh as the matron chased her prodigal son out of the saloon. "Eubricans", Hoptet said to Scaro with a wink.
