  1. Rather ODD that the crane is called 'Lifting Service'. It's the kind of crane you find in junk yards full of old cars.
  2. Well Red and Blue (Case IH and New Holland) are both under the same umbrella company: CNH Industrial.
  3. I should have been more specific. It is not the beige that they liked, it was the small pinkish details (wheels covers and round parts) all over the vehicle. I know that because I did ask them what they liked, and they pointed specifically to those parts.
  4. Get the customizable red truck, it's got plenty of suspension parts, hubs, and many interesting parts, all for $90.00
  5. Of course it's in a good spirit. Dunno about you, but I'm laughing. It's a hobby, gotta enjoy it or find something else. And, I'm not moderating, I was simply trying to incite the OP to say/type more, maybe in a lightly 'sarcastic' tone, but sincerely in good faith. Enough of this, who's got more pics of the red/orange/white plane?
  6. Now it's getting personal ... lol For the record, all my posts always have questions and ask for the community's feedback/opinion. And if I recall, you always had something interesting to say in those threads . In this specific thread, the OP simply started what I'd call a 'place holder'. You see the difference, or is it rather subtle? Psst. Notice how now I use colored text to highlight keypoints, just to make it easy for the reader not to miss the key message?
  7. Yes, that's the one. Thank you. I'm ok with it not working too well, I'm sure many would try and 'modify' it.
  8. This is true (primarily) in the Technic (and some Creator) themes only. It all started with the Universal sets where one has options to build whatever they wanted, and somehow TLG still 'uses' that concept. You'd note that in other sets (bionicle, chima, ...) there is never a mention of B models. In fact, only my technic sets are disassembled and sorted in boxes and used in other contraptions. Other sets I have (City and else) are kept assembled and never messed with.
  9. There are many awesome MOCS out there WITH instructions. But then, there are some without that many of us really want to build. Here's my 'short' list: 1. Mahjqa's Stilkin (Incomplete LDD available, but full instructions would be nice) 2. Jeep Hurricane How about you, which MOCs you'd like to see instructions for and willing to pay for those instructions? PS. Possibly this thread will 'motivate' the authors to issue instructions.
  10. I fail to see the point: You start a topic and have nothing to say?
  11. Very small detail but, is this a new (slightly modified) battery box? Look at the markings near the switch. Unless it's just a sticker.
  12. Of course, I was being very serious. I saw that with my 2 girls ... they want to buy (or me buy them) everything that's pink/purple. It's as if they're programmed that way. I was looking at YOUR models with my two girls, and the one that caught their attention was the girl's tank ... Case in Point. And, since we're talking about colors, here is another piece of trivia: Question: Do you know why, in general, women are better than men at picking/coordinating colors? Answer: Statistically speaking, 37% of men have some type of color blindness. True Story: In the morning when you wear that purple shirt with a blue tie, make sure you ask your significant other if they go together ok.
  13. There was a thread I started a while back on here and it's titled "glue and nails". Essentially, if you look at all the studless official sets, the numbers of pins and bushings typically makes around 50% of the total part count. To me, advertising the total number of parts (when those are getting smaller and smaller) is a bit misleading as it offers no 'tangible' value to the set itself. Yes, it's a useful tool for marketing people, but I'd rather see the total weight of all parts together as a better metric. I would guess that between the various pins and 1L bushings (which are becoming few in the sets), count on the pins to be easily over 1000. You could of course add as well the small 2L thin liftarms and 2L red axles, and that number will quickly climb higher.
  14. That is certainly a serious 'investment'. Nonetheless, the structure is very recognizable (nice thing).
  15. I can convert from pounds to dollars but, I know the price 'structure' is not the same on both sides of the Atlantic. So, anyone has the US $ MSRP?
  16. Very nicely done. Two questions: 1. How does this compare (size) against the one at the Children Museum in Navy Pier) 2. Does it have the glass windows as well?
  17. If we really wanted to be gender-specific, or maybe gender-aware, build a technic set with the RIGHT colors e.g., Pink or Purple. But I guess it's too risky (uncharted territories) for TLG to go that route.
  18. Unless I missed it, do we know what the MSRP of this set is?
  19. Sorry but that sounds very non-sensical. Why would it being spur vs. bevel (double bevel) make a difference upon the number of teeth? The double bevel is there so that the gear can mesh either with a parallel OR perpendicular axis. You'd notice that, in the past, all lego gears were spur except for the weak crown gear. In recent years all newly introduced gears have a dual purpose and can mesh both parallel/perpendicular axes. Again, let's wait for the actual set to come out or, better yet, more/sharper pictures.
  20. That's a good point. Though TLG is notorious for releasing sets with unique parts: 8448 had multiple parts not seen anywhere else. Most of the Bionicle sets had unique parts. Did they sell more per set in the Bionicle series than they did under other themes? Hard to believe that 'poseable' figures have a higher 'appeal' than the basic brick (i.e., build anything you want).
  21. deleted, gonna wait and see, but the new turntable has to have either 64 or most likely 72 teeth. 60 simply makes no sense. "Et pourtant, elle tourne"
  22. Gonna be a tough/heated discussion with the kids comes July: 1 week in South Carolina at the beach or ... the last 3 technic sets? But, I digress. Back on topic. I haven't seen that many interesting sets released together in a while. Perhaps the closest was the telehandler, 4WD off-roader and wheel loader from few years ago.
  23. Glad I made your day ... lol Seriously, too many interesting/pricey sets. This Lego addiction is becoming 'expensive'.
  24. Novel, Unique, and Refreshing!
