  1. Both are great sets, but completely different. If you are looking for panels you should definitely go for the 8109. As jadeomg said the functionality of the bed is fantastic. However I don't like the wheels on the smaller trucks, they seem somehow out of proportion. Otherwise I like the looks of the 8109 better. It's a tough call as they are both nice trucks, I really can't decide which one would pick first if I had to choose. But I wouldn't like to be without either That was a relly good answer wasn't it? I guess you just have to pick the one that you like better.
  2. I actually remember having the same problem over 10 years ago when I built my 8880. Luckily it's an easy fix.
  3. I lke the set, but then again I pretty much like all sets that resembles a truck Functionwise it's not the best set and the design has some flaws but they are easy to fix. You get lots of gears, 6 wheels, panels and of course the m-motor and a LA and a mini LA. I think it's worth getting.
  4. That would be awesome. Thanks in advance!
  5. This is my favourite among the challenge entries You got my vote a couple of days ago. Spread the word now and let's hope it wins!
  6. Wow Any chance of getting instructions? My father has a TA22 which is esentially the same model and it would be nice to get him one of these
  7. They aren't actually that loose. However it would be easy to raise the support one stud to make them tighter. I agree, it looks a little bit empty as it is. Thank you! I think you should do the review anymay. One can never get too much info about an interesting subject And I haven't read a boring review so far. They are always fun to read.
  8. Ok, so here's my first ever pictorial review of a Lego set. Hope you like it and if you have any suggestions on how to improve my reviews in the future, please let me know! First the box, nothing out of the ordinary here. It's a pretty small box for a set of this size which I think is good. The contents of the box. All the new and newish parts. Instructions. I like that they are in portrait format rather than the more common landscape format. Allright. Now to the build Off course we start off by building the undercarriage. Tracks. Centerpiece of the body. The gearbox. The right hand side of the body with side body panels. Body mounted on the undercarriage and the first LA installed. First part of the main boom. The second LA on the main boom. The boom is almost completed. Cabin and left hand side body panels. Body completed. Then we start building the claw. Finished claw. After installing the claw the build is done. The claw fully opened. The claw fully closed. Top view of the rear of the body, with the gearbox and switches somewhat visible. Pretty clever in my opinion. Front Rear Spare parts, many of these will be used if you choose to motorize the excavator. I think this is a really nice model. There are many pretty clever solutions with the gears and how the axles are drawn. However the body is pretty light and because of this it won't be able to lift much weight without tipping over. Even a light camera bag for a compact camera is almost too much when the boom is fully extended. But for playing with "scrapped Lego" it's perfect, Another issue with the boom is that it won't bend enough to pick upp stuff right next to the machine. But I gues that would be an easy fix. For good movement it requires a soft surface or the tracks will skid. A carpet is perfect. This is also a set that really benefits from it's stickers. Without them it would just look empty and quite boring really. Overall a goodlooking machine with lots of gears and of cours LAs are always great. Adding power functions will only make it better since it'll add weight thus getting rid of the tipping over problems. I'd give it a 7,5 out 10 points. It's a fun and easy build with a low risk of making any mistakes.
  9. I got the 42006. Just finished building it and going to try to do a review about it now.
  10. Getting mine tomorrow I can barely wait
  11. Looks much better now Good work!
  12. That's a really cool MOC. Anything that can transform is awesome
  13. Here's my solution. This way the axles won't pull out and the "hubs" are well secured to the chassis.
  14. Has anyone got a better solution for this mod? I thing that the axle should be better secured so that int can't be pulled out so easyly.
  15. I think the second alternative looks better.
  16. Sounds great! At least the Tow Truck and Crane sounds really interesting. Hope we get pictures soon!
  17. Has someone made any mods to their sets? I think two mods that would make the model more realistic would be to put twin rear wheels on the drive axle and make a mechanically liftable boggie axle. The first one should be easy enough but the liftable boggie wouldn't be as easy to get to work well, as one has to make sure it's leveled with the drive axle when lowered. Ideas anyone?
  18. Just finished building my set and I have to say it's just wonderful. Probably one of the best sets ever! Alot of functionality and great looks, not too many green sets out there. It's a true must-have for a Lego Technic fan!
  19. I think it's used for the claw, correct me if I'm wrong.
  20. Really cool models erix! I particulary like the last one Back in the 60's and 70's they had dragsters like that (as erix mentioned in his post)
  21. Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god This is undoubtedly the most amazing lego truck I've ever seen Please tell me you've made instructions and want to sell them I don't think I would be the only one interested in buying them!
  22. This is just beautiful! Really hope it gets enough votes on cuusoo!!!
