  1. Nice work with the chassis! Isn't the wheel-base a little too long though, or is it just me?
  2. Great review of a great set. The only thing I don't like about these older sets is the setup of the drivetrain. They really should have used a normal driveshaft rather than those gear-setups...
  3. I've been trying to figure out how to build the cab, but I can't come up with any good designs... I would like to make an "technic-oldschool" type of cab but everything I try just isn't ridgid enough You guys have any good ideas? Preferably with pics I thought of something like the 8872 cab, but I don't know.
  4. The bike looks awesome and so does the white text on the wheels
  5. Looks good! Just get the parts you need from Bricklink and you'll be able to finish it There you can find both the steering parts you need and the right wheels.
  6. I really like how much the panels around the switches does for the appearance. Everything else looks great too!
  7. When I finished the build of my Test Car I hadn't yet got the proper wheels for it so I put on the wheels from the 8880 Supercar instead. Looks pretty good IMO. It makes it more like a "track" version of the original
  8. This is getting seriously off-topic now, but that's not what I meant. I would like to see a pinned topic at the top of the page where all the pictorial reviews would be collected. Official pictures can be found pretty much anywhere, it's the pictures from the build that are interesting. But hey, that's just my opinion!
  9. Ok, but I meant like a pinned topic in this forum, like the The Technic and Model Team MOC index and Lego TECHNIC Index that are pinned at the top now.
  10. I too really like these pictoral reviews! Every set should have it's own. Keep up the good work. If possible, the reviews could have their own section here at the forum. or what do you think?
  11. Yup, I think the engine should be in the right position for that cab model. The reason I'm using old parts is, quite simply, because I don't have that much extra liftarms and panels. As for the colours, I'm just trying to keep it simple, I don't want it to become a "christmas tree" One pump for the bed and one for the rear hatch.
  12. The proportions are straight out of my head The pneumatics cant be moved back any more than this, (I've tried many setups...) they will then lock up the diff or won't allow the bed to fully retract. I'm thinking of a "european" style cab (like the 8258) since the longnose style seems to be more common when it comes to MOCs. But we'll se what I come up with. Thanks for the encouraging comments and useful tips. I appreciate it
  13. Ok, so here's what I've done today so far. - I've moved the rear axles a bit back and shortened the bed. It now rises a little bit more than before. - I removed the valve block and moved the second air pump to the frpnt and made new airlines to the hatch cylinder - Made a front bumper Next I'll start with the cab. I'll probably do it in red too as that's the color I have most of. The bumper looks a litte bit booring so I'll maybe do some changes to it if I can come up with any...
  14. As I wrote in my first post I'm going to move the rear axles backwards (and shorten the bed). Doing this will allow me to move the pump and switch to a better location. I'll probably won't be able to move the switch to the same place as the other one because I don't have long enough hoses at the moment . I know linear actuators would give me more lift for the bed, but unfortunately I dont have any extra of those either... I also wanted to explore the Lego pneumatics a little bit with this project. If I have the time tomorrow I'll try to implement at least some of the improvements you guys suggested .
  15. This is my first real attempt on building a MOC since childhood. I've started off many projects but always ran out of parts. It's a pneumatic dump truck. I would have liked to do some things a little bit different but I had to do with the parts I have. The frame Engine and pneumatic cylinders added Underneath, makeshift diffs because I didn't have enough parts for real ones. I was also thinking of doing a robson drive but couldn't figure out how to... The bed Todays work I think I have to redo the bed, it's too long now in my opinion, at the same time I'll hopefully be able to move the pneumatic pump for the rear hatch to a better location. I think I'll also move the rear axles a little bit back. As it is now it will be hard to get the HOG steering working. Feel free to suggest improvements.
