It looks like these are still mainly based off Season 1 so I doubt we'll get a Casey Jones. Though personally I never saw his appeal anyways and he's got no hockey mask getup.

But that's stupid. It's a stupid and untrue ideal even in a fantasy that there's always a hidden choice. It's naive as heck. Also they can ATTEMPT to have a good story WITHOUT the universe itself at peril! I've seen it happen. It's possible... The whole thing really makes the previous seasons meaningless. And again, he's Super Jesus.

So there's a fair amount of Lego sets receiving Lightning Deals. They're pretty good. Nothing amazing but at least 30% off. The hard part is being around when they start the sale because apparently they sell instantly. I mean that literally... waiting for The Council of Elrond... 3... 2... 1... 0. Click claim. "You have been put on a waitlist" what the crap... XP So... kind of discouraging. But you guys might want a look. :P

I've never actually seen anything near this happen in person. I'm pretty sure most places are calm and the news just shows the exceptions... Anyways, Black Friday around here had absolutely no good Lego deals. Last week with the pre-Black Friday deals it was actually better. Booo...

Top Gear? Do kids watch that? I know it doesn't exactly get a lot of attention here in the States. The Simpsons has a lot larger appeal (like 100x :P). Bring DOCTOR WHO if anything... though again, that isn't nearly as popular here.

Hmmmm I'm potentially doing the same thing soonish. It's looking like I'm switching from freelancing to a regular job (with the same people). That means moving from the US to the UK, probably living in London. My collection isn't quite as big but I'm still nervous thinking about it. How much does this kind of service cost?

Yeah you don't have a license for this anyways. It's Spiderman and Lego. I assume you don't own either of those ;p. While it's a messed up move to clearly steal your image and barely alter it, that's about all it is. There's no real legal basis here. The only party that could take legal action is Marvel or Lego. Fan Art isn't really protected unless it is a parody or something (which this isn't). It's just a vague area of the law that most companies don't bother messing with, hence how some people are able to sell fan art. There's really nothing you can do. I think all the people who make art online get stuff stolen. Even when it's fully yours (properties and all) there's often nothing you can do which is why large companies often steal other peoples work.

It's too bad the TOR sets are likely over.

Yeah this event sucks unless you want exclusives. Triple VIP points aren't equal to Amazon savings. The free set at $100 isn't very impressive (though I do want that loading thingy). I was expecting... actual sales? Tons of Black Friday sales with stuff like 50% off Lego and Lego.com just can't compare.

Newer sets are at my local stores already. ToysRus had a ton. Might have picked some up if I realized it at the time (I don't keep up with LotR or Hobbit sets very well).

Found a ToysRus that actually had the sale. Got 3 Battle of Hoths. They should easily pay for themselves by selling just one later. I'll probably open two mainly for the minifigures. I'm still raging over the $69.99 Sail Barge I missed by a few minutes... I really want the minifigures in that set....

So no hint of the rumored AT-AT and Slave I yet. Summer? Later than December? :P Booo.

A lot of custom minifigure places have custom printing directly on the figures. No decals or anything like that. Who, what, when, where, why? I'm sure it's absurdly expensive but I'm curious. What kind of machinery do you need? How do they pull it off?

I agree they're lame. But the planet sets were also very lame. So it's just more of the same lame.

I'm thinking of going Minifigure only for Super Hero sets. Honestly, I don't really care about these builds at all. I've built enough batmobiles for a lifetime. I really want the minifigures though. I wish they'd do something like the Daily Planet. Something that isn't another kind of ridiculous vehicle. I've got enough ridiculous vehicles.
