I'm actually not too fond of "straight from the comics" looks. First off it simply doesn't work much of the time. Comics to real life often is terrible. Secondly there's the stupid ridiculous muscles. I do not like the idea of spreading this image as a norm. I prefer realistically buff heroes. Not everyone being miniature hulks. Costumes that magically show muscles as if they're skin tight... urg... just too ridiculous for me. But this is Vision who doesn't even have real muscles in this form. :P

I'm not saying some Nintendo games don't have hardcore appeal. Smash Bros, Zelda, Mario Kart, etc are well loved. It's just the likes of those new games like Splatooon or whatever won't get that core audience at all. It'll just get fans that already like Nintendo.

Armorless Metaknight isn't really... right? Metaknight - Body Blue, feet black. The armor makes his face black (somehow) and has purple armor on his feet (assuming the black isn't part of the shoes). This Kirby - Dark Purple body, purple feet. The eyes are the same. So not quite? Anyways information like this is some detail I don't care much about. Just leak the roster already someone.

Are you a collector, MODer, or MOCer?
BrickG replied to Paul B Technic's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Mostly a collector these days as I do not usually have the time. I build the sets I really like (with little modding if any) and take out the minifigures. I have a good amount of sets that I just took the minifigures out of. It's kind of a controversy to my brain right now because I want to MOC but I never have time and I get to wondering why I buy sets when 98% of the pieces just sit there for the once in a blue moon I have enough free hours to MOC something. Right now I'm considering just going minifigures almost exclusively besides some must have sets that I actually want to build. I used to buy sets I didn't care about with the thought that it would just make my pile of Lego bigger which would help with the MOCs I never get to make and it was better than paying for overpriced minifigures which almost cost as much as the whole set themselves alone. But now I find myself actually considering the impossible and paying crazy amounts for some of those figures I want that are in sets I don't want to build (Heath Joker). It's a rip-off but it still saves me money and I'm really doubting I'm going to get any good amount of free time. Sorting my current collection alone would take DAYS. -
The brown T-Rex I got from Dino is one of my favorite Lego "macro"figures. It's pretty close to scale too. I hope the figures for this aren't so totally different in style. Also I'm a bit concerned that we'll get mutated Dinos more than normal ones. This movie is about some mutant T-Rex. I'm more interested in real ones.

Most of those ideas won't have wide appeal. Miyamoto has made some of the best stuff out there and his games are my favorite but I'm doubting his style will work for modern audiences. His recent comments about leaving passive gamers and going back to hardcore gamers are not reflected in his current game design philosophy as they're all very casual.

Nintendo has no chance of following Sega. They have enough $$$ to last like 50 years at their current rate, literally. They've got over 10 BILLION in the bank. They're not a company that uses the "spend money to make money" strategy and just bank a lot. This probably limits their money making abilities a bit but they've done it so well they're basically bankrupt proof for decades. They can just keep trying until something works. Another difference is though they aren't profitable right now they're usually very profitable on average (hence their billions :P). They've been more successful making money at video games than both Sony and Microsoft. Heck, even their BAD consoles have almost universally made them more money (I think just the Virtual Boy was a financial failure while other failures like the Game Boy Micro still made a bit). They do this by selling their consoles for a profit and stuff. Their 1st party games still sell like crazy. Basically except for the kind of rare bad year they make tons of $$$ (the bad year being caused by the Wii U which will probably clear up as Smash Bros and stuff come out). There is absolute zero chance of them dying or going multi-platform. They're not even close to being in actual trouble. As for Dragon Quest, why be mad at Nintendo for that? Nintendo doesn't own Dragon Quest. Level-5 probably didn't care to localize them due to poor sales in the US of the franchise.

I'm buying it. Looks nothing but good to me. Maybe a bit small scale wise but honestly the ship feels like it should be smaller anyways. I'm actually really excited for it. It looks really good. I've not bought a Slave I before. Hopefully next year'ish they'll do a minifigure scale Falcon and I can be happy forever.

New 52 honestly from a comic perspective mostly sucks. They handled the semi-reboot really poorly. Superman sucks now. Batman kind of sucks now. Wonder Woman is okay (arguably better than before). I stick with DC Lego through sheer nostalgia alone from like 90s good comics :P.

What's Your Favourite and Least Favourite Star Wars Movie?
BrickG replied to Sir Brickalot's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Greatest to Worst: V IV VI (used to be V, VI, IV but my taste changed) -5000000 lines later- III II I The Prequels are just bad. -
Is the announcement for the next wave tomorrow? Hope so.

Geeze I want that Joker. But I don't care about the set. Hope the minifigure falls to a realistic cost..

Nintendo sucks at names these days. Horrible name. The second analogue I'm HAPPY with. The placement of it... what? I can't say if it'll work or not but it's in a really freakin' odd area. I wish it was down below the face buttons (and left). The Z buttons I am also HAPPY with. The placement again though... sucks... Side by side trigger buttons are terrible. Why not over each other? Well probably because the 3DS is quite slim... As for Smash Bros... YES! OH GOD, I WANT IT NOW! WHY CAN'T I HAVE IT NOW!? WHY!?!?!?!? Xenoblade... Mild interest. Bravely Second... I kind of liked the first but I moved to the UK while I was in the middle of it and just kind of stopped playing because I was too busy. Final Fantasy Explores... Idunno. Haven't really liked a FF game since FFIX. Haven't loved one since like VII (though my favorite is IV).

Well at least I get Duck Hunt.

I'm certain it would in many regions. But I'm pretty sure Lego is unsure how it would sell in certain big regions... As popular as Doctor Who is becoming in the states it's still nowhere near the popularity in the UK. The UK toy stores have Doctor Who everywhere. Heck, the show itself has a lot more kids watching it in the UK. It's not really watched much by kids in the US at all. Kids literally don't care about Doctor Who for the most part here. You'll have incredibly trouble finding any Doctor Who toys in Toys R Us or anything that isn't a geek specific store. To put it in perspective the best ratings Doctor Who ever got in the UK had ONE IN SIX PEOPLE watching that episode. 1/6th of the country watched Doctor Who at the same time! In the US it's more popular than every but it's best rating were ONE IN THREE HUNDRED. That is 1/300 people watching an episode at the same time. Absolutely nothing compared to the UK fanbase. If anything holds back the franchise from Lego it's stuff like that. Kids probably won't buy Doctor Who gear here and like it or not they make up like 75% of Lego purchases (or their parents do for them :P). That said, I'm pretty darned sure ONE set could sell very well (in the US). If Ghostbusters and Back to the Future can I bet this has the legs. I'm not sure it could ever support anything more than that in most regions. As much as I'd love a proper whole wave and custom molds for Daleks and stuff I just don't think it's going to happen unless the sales in the more minor regions are enough to offset the sales in the bigger regions which I doubt.

I want moar! I bit the bullet and bought all 16 of the series (already had the house). Found a place where they were barely over retail. Now I want more. It's funny because like many people I think The Simpsons has sucked for like 14 years now :P. I'm into these purely on nostalgia of the days when it didn't suck.

His new costume sucks. Looks so awkward.

Well another thing that supports this (if you still doubt) is today's update revealed for the first time that Final Destination stages are called Omega. One of the leaks had this before it was revealed today.
-
Lots of leaks. I wouldn't believe anything about the characters NOT SHOWN until we see something. Especially with a lot of proven imposters running around. 99% chance this other stuff is real though. If not then bravo to the really GREAT leaks.

So you're not sure it wasn't hawkgirl? Though since Hawkman is in the game and featured I suppose her chances are very small... :(

I've always wondered where Batman gets his toys. He's not an incredibly scientist. The stock that Wayne Industries has has to eventually run out (especially since he stopped Wayne Industries from making weapons). Yet every now and then he pops out with a new mech, vehicle, toy. He's not Tony Stark. He's smart but not THAT smart. At least most of his incarnations.

Anyone else think this Ice Bucket challenge is manipulative? I mean it's based entirely on peer pressure. Get challenged and you're manipulated into either donating $100 or dumping ice on your head. The donation isn't a bad thing at all but the fashion that it is gathered... it's just jerky. Refuse the peer pressure and you get people thinking you're a jerk yourself. Maybe some of us aren't into these things and just don't want to pour icey water pointlessly on our bodies? Or we donate to other causes already. Or the fact that it's just insulting that it's so manipulative so you don't want to do it. But then it's a no win scenario because people will notice you don't do it and judge you for it. Either throw ice on your face, donate $100 or have everyone hate you for not falling for their peer pressure. It's freakin' terrible in my eyes. Manipulative... The cause is just but geeze...

What custom minifigure do you desire?
BrickG replied to LuckyTheySay's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Still have plans to make Star Trek TNG minifigures some day. Can't find a way to make Worf's head any good or Geordi's hair. There just isn't a mold for them. I'd need to 3d model and pay to have it printed...
