  1. Me too! Especially when I saw it still blue at Celebration. I know it's an easy, cheap fix on the consumer end, but it seems wacky that the error was in place for so long. Unless it was a nod to the original Kenner blue-saber Jedi Knight Luke variant (the only time Kenner gave Luke a blue saber, and then Lucas had to switch colors on 'em after the first trailers were released). That Gozanti is tempting, but it's a missed opportunity IMO to finally get a proper "R4" head, tho it'd require a new element... I'd love to have a Lego version of the R4-style courier astromech Chopper dumped out of the Ghost's cargo hatch (or dropped down the sewer pipe). Not gonna sweat it too much, any new astromech is welcome (one of my favorite things to collect from the Hasbro line, too). A Jawa in the Advent Calendar?! Sweet! Since I may never nab the Sandcrawler (despite its plethora of droids), I had about given up hope of getting any Jawas outside of the large sets or Bricklink (still hoping for a MicroFighter Sandcrawler someday with a Jawa driver). I would've picked up a Celebration Lego set if there was a Jawa instead of, or in addition to, 3PO... that would've eased the sting of the $40 price tag a bit.
  2. Maybe Lego could have slits in the fabric going down a little ways from the arm opening to prevent that stretching/tearing? Nope, Obi-Wan doesn't wear a cape. It's a robe, with sleeves & everything. Just like Obi-Wan's robes in the PT. Luke wears a hooded cape in ROTJ, and Vader wears a cape of course.
  3. I like the Han printing, too; how odd would it have looked if he just had a camo cape, ala older Jedi's "robes"? I never much cared for plain brown capes for bathrobe-wearing Jedi...they need sleeves! Lego would have to do fabric trenchcoats which would either be clunky (probably) to put them on without dismembering the figure's torso, or require removing arms to put them on the minifig like custom-vendor trenchcoats, and I don't see them doing that. I got a CapeMadness Endor coat and made an easy Endor Han custom with a spare Han, but I'm also looking forward to adding the printed version to my collection. Re: Leia's poncho, I'm not sure a belt print would look good...it'd be all fuzzy, as her poncho looks similar to the CMF Hun's cape.
  4. Maybe not all of them, probably only the ones like that TIE, that have the fat gears on the inside of the wing panels... note that the cannon shooting backwards is UNDER the body of the TIE, not built into the sphere like the forward cannons are on regular TIEs. That rear 'window' is for a gunner, perhaps.
  5. Very nice! Incidentally, the 'hand weapon' is some sort of staff Rey can be seen running with in the newest teaser... in the first teaser, the prevailing thought is that the two shots of her on the speeder (the closeup showing the staff, and the farther shot w/o the staff) aren't in sequence in the film, and one of the shots is flopped for better flow in the teaser.
  6. ...who grew more than most other clones over the course of the show, from his encounter with Cut Lawquane to the betrayal of General Krell to Fives' warnings about the chips. The teaser showed scars on the clones' heads--so Fives' warnings were heeded, and Rex & his brothers had their chips removed so they would no longer be automatons at the Chancellor/Emperor's whim. A few observations:
  7. They're snowtroopers; there's only one flametrooper in the front there; note the difference in backpacks, and--tho tougher to tell in this picture--difference in helmets. Snowtroopers wear flametrooper helmets with an extra faceplate across the front (akin to the cloth OT snowtroopers wore), and a bucket helmet (again, like OT snowtroopers or AT-ST Drivers, sorta) over the flametrooper helmet...the costume pics from the mannequins on display at Celebration make all the differences crystal clear.
  8. All it spoiled was my imagination... because the cool box for the STAP of a swampy world had my mind conjuring all kinds of neat things that were totally absent from Naboo & the droid armies in the movie. Plus Mace didn't even ignite a lightsaber at all in the movie. Lego sets can spoil movies (Toy Story 3 had a set depicting the climactic sequence of the film & revealing the villain), but I doubt we'll see some serious 'spoilers' among this first wave of TFA sets--if anyone has aliases in the film, the aliases will likely be used on the boxes rather than the 'reveal' names (if Kylo Ren goes full-on Darth Whatever, we probably won't get "Darth Whatever" plastered on the box). Mostly I'm imagining ships/environments we'll see in the new trailer & teaser and totally expected stuff... new X-wings, new stormies, Rey's speeder, a TIE of some sort, etc. Some may be totally new but not really spoilerific. We probably won't get a set called "Chewie's Last Stand" with a buildable moon to drop on him.
  9. ...don't feel too bad for the pilot. Things might work out for him! Nice MOC, the smoke's fun, the wrecked wing panels evoke destroyed versions of the most recent TIE set (as they're likely supposed to!)... very cool!
  10. What he posted wasn't a spoiler, at all. It was a joke, that because Kylo Ren looks a bit like Revan (masked, hooded, with a cape) he was as good as confirmed as Revan... but of course he wasn't.
  11. Would've been nice to have a Jawa minifig thrown into the set, too, to corral 3PO That might increase it's "scalper-bait" rating, tho... Still, a neat little set... time to start a list of what I'll be buying at Celebration!
  12. I'd be fine with that; I like the idea of Heroica-style, perhaps, with different classes of heroes rather than just "knights/soldiers with various weapons". If they take some cues from guys like Nuju Metru with the playsets, even if large structures aren't used (his little magic-launching boulders and such are pretty great! So are the dragons and whatnot, too, of course), we could see a lot of fun stuff without just resorting to Speedorz and/or other weird vehicles too much--tho steampunk/WoW-style vehicles wouldn't bug me much at all (I did get many of the MegaBloks WoW sets...I still wanna rebuild the Horde Demolisher with actual Lego). Plus we might even get to see siege weapons beyond the standard catapults! How about ballista? A trebuchet tower? A Grond-style battering ram suspended in a wheeled rig with some trolls or ogres pushing it? A siege tower? No zombies, tho... unless their torsos and legs are fully clothed/armored. The torn flesh & exposed bones of so many of the ice tribe warriors bothers me so much! Some fantastic prints weakened tremendously by a patch of exposed muscle or bone...and the mammoths with their bone trunks?! But I digress... a Castle series with specific characters could be a lot of fun. Maybe one of the heroes could be a dwarf!
  13. There may be super weapons in the new trilogy, but no resurrected Sheev, no actual "Death Stars", and no Galaxy Guns (too silly a name).
  14. After Revan, I'd guess Thrawn would be the most-wanted EU figure (not that there aren't dozens of others I'd also like... Darth Malak, Darth Krayt, Cade Skywalker, Zayne Carrick, Darth Talon, Darth Nihl, Darth Wyyrlok, Morlish Veed, Pellaeon, Jacen Solo, Darth Caedus, Jaina Solo, Baron Fel, Jagged Fel, any Imperial Knights, Bastila Shan, T3-M4, HK-47, Talon Karrde, Mara Jade, Corran Horn, Tycho Celchu, Piggy, Rukh, C'baoth, Whistler, Deliah Blue, Morrigan Corde, Kol Skywalker, Ania Solo, Marasiah Fel, non-TCW Quinlan Vos, Villie, K'Kruhk, Canderous Ordo as Mandalore, Visas Marr, Brienne, Mission Vao, Zaalbar, etc)
  15. TCW Yularen would've been nice... ANH Yularen is neat, but inaccurate (he wears black pants in the film--you see him and another Imp in an identical uniform, but with his rank badge rotated 180 degrees, walking the hall when Luke & Han are escorting Chewie towards the detention level... they also wear black caps, but the one guy is clearly Yularen). I'd rather they have gone all-out and made Grand Admiral Thrawn, which would've simply needed a different rank badge print and a new head (plus one of the numerous black hair pieces). A rank badge sticker will be enough to promote the Yularen torso to Grand Admiral status (maybe add gold epaulets), tho, and then he can be Grand Admiral Pellaeon, the Old Man of the Empire in the Legends EU.
  16. Yeah... $200 for Cloud City Fett, or $200 for Brand New Fett with a stormtrooper, Bespin Guard, Carbonite Han, and a big Slave I build. No contest.
  17. I nabbed a Dwarf Battle Pack years ago, after they'd retired, for about $20 since I was desperate to get some dwarves to populate the Dwarven Mine I never did buy (oops). A few years later and I've assembled over 40 dwarves after my humble beginnings of a BP and a Mine Defender... but that was when the BPs had five figures. That was the biggest disappointment with the 2013 sets; cheaper to BL extras from the often-discounted Forest Ambush or piecemeal, possibly--usually the soldier/knight torsos from 2013 are fairly cheap, as are the helmets and legs. The new short swords are fairly cheap as well since so many sets with them have extras. BPs, more SW-style/Forest Ambush-style, with 4 figures and different siege weapons or carts/wagons could be fun! This faction gets a catapult, that faction gets a ballista (tho they'd probably get a catapult in a larger set, too, with the opposing faction's gatehouse/tower/prison). Maybe a civilian set of a merchant and his nonaligned guards or some peasants taking crops/livestock to market.
  18. ...unless, over 30 years, someone finally decided "Let's give 3PO a matching lower leg, shall we?" Particularly if Leia does go back into government and uses him as her aide... a mismatched protocol droid may not send the right message.
  19. Castle 2013's Forest Ambush was almost that, but like some SW battle packs had 2 of each faction...I'm still tempted to get 1 or 2 more, just for fodder. But yeah, some nice battle packs with fairly generic characters that can be mixed around easily... I'd go for that!
  20. The front ranks would work with many beards; the Fantasy-era dwarf beards should work nicely with the BrickForge Dwarven helm, as will BF's own Sage & Dwarf beards. Standard Lego wizard-beards, Gandalf's beard, Sensei Wu's beard, Vitruvius' beard, Gimli's beard, Dwalin's beard, CMF Santa/Classic King's beards, and the newer chin-only beards of Wiley Fusebot, CMF Prospector, and some of the new Swamp Criminals in the Town theme will also work very well. About the only one that wouldn't work would be Balin's, Hagrid's, and CMF Caveman's, since they cover the head, too. For the bullet-heads, all you can do is get faces with beard prints or stubble, which will be tough for so many if you want a lot of variety. Or, switch to the nose-guard helms, since they'd work with the CMF beards, wizard/sensei beards, and even reasonably well with the wrap-around Fantasy/Gimli/Dwalin beards (not a completely secure fit on the head's stud, but good enough for display & light play!) Still, bearded or not, it's an impressive lineup of Dwarvish troops!
  21. Disney didn't decide that. For the Kallus/Transport Pilot discrepancy, it could just be the "same color in two different situations looking different", like the many optical illusions trotted out by posts analyzing the "white/gold or blue/black dress" incident a few weeks ago. A gray checkerboard square in the light looks darker than a "white" checkerboard square in the shadow of an object, but the two squares are actually identical. For Sabine, maybe they just don't have the right magenta-ish color and figure dark red's better since the paint around the visor is dark red anyway? I haven't had a good look at the helmet yet. There's always Arealight's neat version if the official one is too lacking. (EDIT: just found a nice closeup of the 75106 Sabine... based on the Rebels' color guide, seems the main helmet should match the armor as it doesn't get its own color code, so dark red seems appropriate even if it maybe should have a touch more blue in the mix, with the darker paint markings--not the dark red I mentioned before--around the visor getting converted to a brown for Lego...I guess it just seems too starkly 'red' when it should veer closer to maroon, and the pink/lavender stripes on the armor seem too pale, not distinctly 'pink' enough.)
  22. ...now that's a lotta goblins!
  23. The Egyptian shield seems tailor-made for Castle, especially since it bears the newer handle favored by almost all modern shields (Boromor, Eomer, the kite shield). I expect it's the replacement for the classic Castle shield in much the way the newer short sword is a replacement for the classic version. I like the idea of a more modular Castle theme, with different structures rather than just the typical "Castle/Gatehouse/Carriage" assortments. Components more like the old days in the '80s would be nice, a section of wall perhaps with a fold, maybe a tower distinct from the ones used in the large castle to add variety, a Guarded Inn or Blacksmith kinda build attached to a section of wall, maybe a stable or merchant's store to help expand it from just a castle fortress to a walled town...
