The helmet could have an HUD on the inside, or maybe it's just meant to be like a really dark-tinted visor, great visibility from the inside, but opaque to people looking at him. The uniform could be pretty plain in the film, too...sleeker than the jumpsuits used by the Imps of old. In that case--in most black-suited Imp cases--I don't mind the plain black legs. Wrinkles for wrinkles' sake don't really interest me. Definitely not the worst SW minifig ever. AAAAAAAH! KILL IT! KILL IT WITH FIRE! Dunk it in acid! Throw it down the garbage disposal! (I actually like the Anakin you posted... I mean, he's still got the silly TCW-face, and is kinda plain by today's standards, but I always loved the Season 1 armor he & Obi-Wan wore...helped make it look like Vader's later armor didn't just materialize outta nowhere)

It reminds me of an exaggerated version of Skeletor's troopers from the '87 Masters of the Universe film. Or a DS Trooper and DS Gunner both got in one of those teleportation pods from The Fly.

BrickWarriors July 2015 - New Castle Pieces
Venkefedo replied to Thrash's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I hope it's a hornless Viking helm! BF has one, but it covers a bit too much of the face print for my taste. Love the axes, shields, and swords--the armor's a bit bulky for my taste but worked nicely on a Death Dealer I made last year. Loving those kettle helms... -
To be fair, tho, had George not sold the company but still turned it over to Kennedy to run, to create more films, they still would've nixed the EU. It was Kennedy's decision ultimately, not Disney's, tho the reasoning might be the same for either entity: to more easily facilitate creative freedom in telling stories set beyond ROTJ. Of course, many think--and perhaps it's actually true--that George only wrote treatments for the sequels to help entice Disney to buy the property. Had he not wanted to sell, he may not have wanted sequels at all and the EU could've continued on the same course for awhile longer... Resistance troopers? Extra Ground Crew and pilots? Hmm...

There is no Chrome Phasma yet. The pic earlier supposedly showing one was either just a trick of the light or someone put a pic thru a filter... to me, it still looked just like a silver Phasma like what we've seen before. Yes, I understand that, but I hate having to swap 'em out. Lego often makes some odd hand color choices for figs, and doesn't make nearly enough of certain hand colors in general... I swapped out some of the tan hands from my Endor Rebels for the (much rarer, but AWESOME) dark tan hands--they work so well for gloves! Lego should be using those frequently for many figures!--and giving some Imps bare hands (since so many ANH Imps didn't wear gloves). Watto, up until this point, always had blue or bley hands--the first one's got some of the rarest hands ever! Now we get tan because of the interior, and it looks odd.
-
I really, really hate the hands on Watto... I know his inner arms & palms are tan in the film, but it'd be so much nicer if he had sand-blue hands. Qui-Gon looks great, tho, and the ship itself looks pretty neat.

Nope. Someone Photoshopped Brienne of Tarth's head onto the Vanity Fair Phasma (moving the helmet down to her hand) but that's it. Well, I guess there's a shot of supposedly Christie in some green uniform walking around Greenham Common (which, by all appearances, is a Resistance base), but that could simply be her playing a background extra as "herself", while we'll find out Phasma's actually a Chiss or heavily scarred or a cyborg or any number of other things that could be hidden under that shiny helmet (whether we discover it in TFA or EpVIII). Supposedly Adam Driver was also in an X-wing uniform at one point, but that doesn't mean Kylo Ren infiltrates the Resistance or started out as a Resistance pilot before donning the black mask anymore than Jeremy Bulloch playing an Imperial officer (in the same scene as Boba Fett, whom he also played, when Leia was yelling to Luke that it was a trap) means that Boba Fett was actually an Imperial officer. There are also pictures of actor Treat Williams in a Hoth Rebel uniform from a set-visit to ESB, but by all accounts he was never even filmed as an extra in the movie--just hanging out with pal Carrie.

Nah, they're situated the same way as Han & Chewie in the 2011 one... Finn's sitting a little behind Rey. Also...did everyone see the Flametroopers? I'm guessing it's from another ebay seller, but the pic has a row of Flametroopers and a row of Snowtroopers.
-
Rey is the hero of the movie (the "Luke" role), and she's available in one of the cheap sets. Finn & Poe are part of the "Big Three", but they flip-flop between Han/Leia roles, to varying degrees, as well as others (based on what we've seen so far, Finn is a bit of a 3PO early on--leading us thru the desert to the hero, Rey). Initially we'd have to buy the Falcon & X-wing in order to get all 3, but later sets will make that a little cheaper, most likely. A little, but in Lego terms just about anyone with that hairdo and a mustache could look like Talon Karrde. There's no 'one' look for Karrde, either (the comics made him look like a biker, but the books originally described him--vague tho it was, since Zahn was more techy than into describing the appearance of characters--as a bit more elegant).

Just call it the black X-wing... there's been nothing to suggest it's "stealth" at all, that I've seen. The only stealth X-wings were in Legends.
-
This has been discussed far & wide since the very first glimpse of the new X-wings last year (especially in the Force for Change video with JJ standing in front of the blue & gray one). People kept saying "Look! It's a Z-95!" (since the McQuarrie X-wing was adopted by the now-Legends EU as one of the many designs for the Z-95 in various projects--Wedge Antilles flew one in a flashback from Dark Horse's "The Phantom Affair", to take vengeance on the pirates that killed his parents). Now, of course, the only canon Z-95 is what we saw in TCW, which Lego has already made, freeing up the McQuarrie version to become the new T-70 X-wing, successor to the OT's T-65 model (with some additional tweaks) Probably just the glare, but I agree it'd be nice to get it in a new color, since the DC-17 model blasters haven't been used in years, in either dark bley or black. Not odd at all when you consider this concept art from Celebration: At a guess, Han probably gives her one of his spare blasters at some point, if she actually uses a DL-44 at all in the final film.

Welcome to the board! Obviously you're excited, but you're a few pages late for these 'new' leaks (but at least it's still the same day!) Also, regarding Leia... she'll probably be in the 2nd wave of sets if that list of figures for each set is accurate. Perhaps Luke will as well! And technically we DID see Luke in the 2nd teaser, briefly, with his hood hiding his face.
-
Eh, it's not really ominous... click if you wanna see, no other spoilers involved.
-
If you didn't avoid spoilers, you'd know why he's not in the first wave.

As someone else noted, the fuselage of Poe's X-wing seems pretty much identical to 9493, so it should be possible to create a blue and white version, at the very least, depending on the availability of the elements in correct colors. Not all the white pieces from 9493 are available in light bley, but some are available in the old light gray--it might help give it a nice 'used' feel. Then it'd just depend on what goes into the T-70's wings, brick-wise, and whether they'd be available in the proper colors. ?? No, they're both male as far as I can tell... but with the new helmets, we can easily replace the head of either with a female head and not have to worry about lack of a visor print.
-
Yep, I mentioned it a couple pages back: So, yeah... we can make Grunberg's pilot, or, as Rollermonkey pointed out: (not to mention, Kithaba's head could be used, or Ten Numb's, a Weequay, Duros, Mirialan, Zabrak, Nikto, and any other species--existing in SW or not--represented by standard heads... Cathar via Chima Lion heads, maybe?)

I'm guessing Tasu is part of the Kanjiklub gang, too, given the similar weaponry the two carry... seems to fit some rumors I've seen. I kinda like the stud-shooter crossbow! But Castle crossbows are plentiful if you prefer those of course.
-
At first I thought I'd skip the new Falcon, but comparing it to the last...now I think I'm gonna get it. Or put it on my Christmas list, anyway The figs looks great! ...is that Kanjiklub Gang Member wearing a swim cap for his headgear? The new X-wing helmets look cool, too, and seems like the visor is part of the helmet (akin to the recent Ultra Agents helmets)... which is good, since we can replace the Resistance X-wing Pilot's head with this one and have Greg Grunberg's character from the movie

...one of my first & favorite "steampunk" golems is Calibretto from Joe Madureira's "Battle Chasers" comic... and I know MegaBloks are, y'know, MegaBloks, but I dug the Goblin Shredder from their WoW theme (more a mech than a golem, but close... with all the pieces from several themes over the years, Lego could probably put together some amazing Castle steampunk-y golems and/or mechs)
-
Warcraft is usually my go-to (tho Warhammer would work as well) for medieval but with some steampunk-y gadgets, gizmos, and vehicles. The gnomes & goblins of Warcraft especially are good at creating clockwork & steam-powered madness, including airships!
-
Yeah, they're real. The printing is too detailed & precise with TLG-style foibles (clipped kneepads), the helmets of both look very clean... no reason to think they're fakes.
-
Not really, AFAIK... but do we even know R2's head will be printed like that? We've only seen artwork on a box, not actual photos of the minifig. If it is printed that way, tho, I imagine he'll show up in a TFA set or a Winter Wave set with that printing.

To be fair, the Jedi suit from the Desert Skiff is different from the one in the new Final Duel. He ditches the vest & sash at the Ewok village before leaving to surrender. This is the first time we're getting Luke in this outfit (with the flap 'up' on the tunic; flap-down is already available in the Ewok Village set, of course). But the larger point still stands; major characters have often been in cheap sets. It's generally the minor characters that get tucked away in pricey sets (Piett, Bossk, Bespin Guards, Jawas, etc)

...which of course it will be. That helmet mold was made specifically for the new, average First Order stormie. It's got bumpy bits on the top and a larger 'chin' area that are only on regular stormie helmets, not present on Phasma's movie helmet. That's the reason the deco is a little 'off' for her, because the helmet mold isn't quite right for her.

I don't think so... Hence people using Bard's. Most alternatives would require removing beards, too.
