Well, that pic may not be the best to use for demonstration... it's fan-art, not a still from the teaser Edit: Ah, forget that remark... I didn't remember the angle of the figure's pose, and did remember seeing fan-art of that scene... got my wires crossed. But I do like how the blades are different, and wonder if that means anything regarding the effectiveness of the saber. I like the idea that the mini-blades are more 'exhaust' than actual blades...

Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar 2014 - Got yours?
Venkefedo replied to markw's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I liked the build, tho agree with others who think the cannon is mounted pretty flimsily (it's sturdy, it just looks flimsy). I haven't tried modding it yet for a more robust cannon mount; I like the legs a lot, and the Umbarans are great! Makes me wish George hadn't stuck with droids for the primary Separatist forces. I understand why he did it, but Battle Droids & SBDs have just always bugged me, movie-wise and as toys (especially SBDs). Had Umbarans and the like been in the films, we might have had some nice action figures from Hasbro...or they could've ended up like the Neimoidian Warrior (looks great, but horrid articulation and a lousy action-feature with an oversized rocket-launching weapon). -
Fantasy trolls! Great job, but not enough dwarves Those antlers are crazy!

Loving the entries so far! Still brainstorming mine, tho I figbarfed a couple decent ones last night (particularly happy with a Mitgardian one I came up with). I don't think so; Historica has tons of species & races! Most are nowhere near as numerous as the pesky rabbit-like humans, but there may also be species that died out thousands of years before the Guilds formed (loved seeing some "historic" figures in the entries, as many of the regular CMFs folks in GOH tend to gravitate towards are 'historic' characters!) so I'd think just about anything goes. I really wish Lego hadn't made the Chima mammoth-trunks part bone; so limiting (and anatomically inaccurate!)

Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar 2014 - Got yours?

I've only considered the set because it has Plo Koon and a couple Wolfpack clones (but not, sadly, Wolffe himself) and because I have the Umbaran MHC, sort of a counter to it... but it's not a very strong urge to get the set. -
Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar 2014 - Got yours?

Yes, it's a micro version of the Republic AV-7 Anti-Vehicle Cannon from TCW, still available in stores. -
The issue isn't his nationality, it's his ethnicity. Since we've seen Fett, we know he shouldn't be a white guy. John Boyega isn't playing Han & Leia's biological son, is he? So MVS shouldn't play Boba Fett. I didn't like the handling of the Fetts either, but it's silly to retcon it now with a total race-change of the character. Star Trek just ignored it, when a line or two about Marcus having Khan surgically altered to prevent accidental discovery due to facial recognition tied to old databases or something... but it was still glaring and foolish. Many defended it with the alternate reality, ignoring that the realities split long after Khan was frozen aboard Botany Bay, or that Montalban wasn't exactly Indian either (tho at least they attempted to make him look somewhat Indian in Space Seed...not so much in Wrath of Khan). "We really want Max, but the only role we can possibly craft for him is Boba Fett even tho he's every kind of wrong for the role" is a terrible justification; even more so on top of Cumberbatch-as-Khan. It's "The Last Airbender"-level wrong.

I agree that his original voice was fine, but the fact remains Boba is an unaltered clone of Jango, so as an adult--even if we never saw his face in the OT--he should look just like Jango. Casting Max Von Sydow as Old Man Boba Fett (besides being a little TOO old, of course) would be as ridiculous as my example of Clint Eastwood as Lando Calrissian.

Doubtful, as the Revan book isn't canon. Granted, they can pull anything they want from Legends material and make those items canon, but the little droid is orange and white, not orange and grey. Throw it in a spoiler tag and spill! I'm not sure what announcement you're referring to. The ideas of MVS being a Prequel character leave few candidates, if that part of the massive 'rumor' post is true, and the one most folks seem to gravitate to is ridiculous: Boba Fett. If that actually happened, they may as well cast Clint Eastwood as Lando Calrissian.

Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar 2014 - Got yours?

Mine arrived yesterday, just in time! Very glad to get it... I think today was my first Super Battle Droid ever. Oh how I hate it. -
I think Slurpifier is wondering why they don't have 2 waves of MFs per year. I'm wondering the same; I mean, they could change their policy by Summer 2015, but the idea of sitting thru a full year of AT-ATs, ARC-170s, Gunships, Vulture Droids, Snowspeeders, and Spider Droids isn't very appealing to me, not when I'm itching to see Sandcrawlers, A-wings, B-wings, Y-wings, E-wings, Desert Skiffs, Landspeeders, Imperial Shuttles, the Moldy Crow, the Ebon Hawk, the Mynock, TIE Predators, TIE Bombers, TIE Fighters, TIE Defenders, the Rogue Shadow, Wedge's X-wing, Jaina Solo's X-wing, the Virago, the Outrider, TOR ships, etc. I got my fill of this year's MFs several months ago, tho whenever I see a sale (like Target's current MF Star Destroyer discount) I kinda wanna scoop up a bunch. But mostly, I've been done for ages, and would've loved to see the 2015 Winter batch on the shelves a few months ago instead.

Everyone understands that... but medieval swords' quillons generally weren't searing bars of plasma, or butane-torch-flames as this saber's blades seem to be. You smack yourself with your own medieval quillon, it's just a bump... smack yourself with this saber's quillon, you get a nice cauterized hole somewhere in you, or maybe you lose a limb or a finger.

Luke hated it; he won't be there. Anakin hated it, too. Just about everyone who went there kinda hated the place, and it's been in nearly everything. The Clone Wars went there in the movie and in the series... KOTOR went there... SWTOR went there... the books went there... Battlefront went there... Brian Wood's Star Wars comic went there... the Legacy comic went there. It's supposed to be the armpit of the galaxy, but because of a few iconic scenes SW creators keep wanting to go back, despite the fact that the Skywalker men hated the place, 3PO thought it was desolate, and audiences were supposed to kinda hate it, too. It was our gateway into a new universe... it's like going to Disneyland and then returning every hour to the space between the turnstiles and Main Street to hang out for awhile, when most folks just take their picture in front of the Mickey-flowers and move on to the rest of the park.

Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar 2014 - Got yours?

I'll remember this next time... I figured it wouldn't sell out until after Thanksgiving, but I wasn't paying attention to December beginning so soon after Thanksgiving! Since they sold out a couple weeks ago, I nabbed one on Bricklink...hopefully it'll arrive this week! First time I've really wanted one of the SW calendars... last Advent I got was the Kingdoms one a few years ago. -
I don't think we've seen pics, but in the armored/helmeted pics we've seen there is a seam visible, so the helmet should be removable without removing the entire armor piece.

Don't call it "Tatooine atmosphere" until we're certain it is Tatooine. We haven't seen twin suns, we haven't seen Mos Eisley, we haven't seen the Lars Homestead or Jawas or Tusken Raiders, so for all we know it's an entirely different desert world, selected to provide the nostalgia for Tatooine without throwing the same exact planet in yet another movie.

We've only seen one canon ancient saber; this could EASILY be another ancient one. The effects look weird intentionally; its blade doesn't sound or look like a normal saber blade, just as the darksaber blade looks and sounds different. Just because we've only seen one darksaber doesn't mean we can NEVER see more, or other ancient blades, or other new blades. Star Wars may have plateaued to a degree technologically, but that doesn't mean they're completely stagnant.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

The stormie without the helmet is one of the lead characters. The voiceover was great (supposedly Andy Serkis' voice). They didn't just change stormtroopers; those X-wings are new. Didn't you see the "Force for Change" video with Abrams standing in front of one? They're based on McQuarrie preproduction art from the original film. The TIEs may have differences not apparent in that brief clip we saw. It's 30 years later, in-universe and out; change happens. We may see all kinds of other starfighters during the film; X-wings weren't the only Rebel fighters we saw in ROTJ after all, nor were basic TIEs the only ones we saw. The droid may not be an actual astromech of the "future", it may just have a head resembling one (more like the original Kenner R2). It's functionality is likely hidden within its ball shell just as R2's tools were all hidden. -
Yes, that's Oscar Isaac piloting the X-wing. So, Ezra Bridger's kid

The ONLY one? It could be an ancient blade even older than the darksaber. It could be some experimental weapon cobbled together by a fanboy of the Sith who doesn't really know what he's doing. Some speculate the "blades" on the hilt are exhaust ports, because it's so unstable (hence the fiery blade). I hope it's the "exhaust ports" thing, I like that idea better than the "mini-blades" one; in any case, ridiculous as it may seem, it did look neat in the teaser and may have a good explanation in the film. Beach ball droid undoubtedly has more functionality hidden in his rolling shell, just as R2 had all those gizmos hidden in his body. Cute and a little silly, but so was the Mouse Droid, and he SOUNDS great. Many of the droids at the Droid Purchase scene and rolling around the Lars Homestead were fairly silly, too. I don't get why so many people think the shot of Boyega is so comical. Dude just woke up from a crash landing. If we saw another angle, we'd probably see the wreck nearby. He's panicked, unsure where he is or where he should go.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion
Venkefedo replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The alien's gun is from TLM; many of the robots were armed with them. The Galaxy Squad are the elite hero team... These Galaxy Troopers are, like, the general army/marine guys or something. Maybe he doesn't have wings? The clips on his back may just be for weapon storage. The FB pic has him holding his blasters angled outward, giving a wing-like silhouette... maybe that's why people thought "wings"? Gonna grab several goblins! A whole case might not be bad, provided there aren't a dozen Disco Divas in each one -

Agreed! If they ran parallel to regular CMF series, then bring them on (LOTR/Hobbit!) -
Vulture Droid as an early part of my Xmas loot, towards getting a Rocket Raccoon at TRU. Figured I'd better get one before it retires!

How can we get a better face that looks more like Boba when we never saw his face in the films?
