  1. You may be right about the wings... I found a (slightly) bigger version on Google, but it might just be lighting (the angles of the lower part of a TIE's wings might not catch the light). Hopefully we'll get a hi-res version of this sometime (or more of us will see the image in person) and maybe figure it out for sure.
  2. That's exactly what it is... just a TIE fighter. For all the talk of "clues" or "tie-ins" with various new SW projects and the upcoming films, they're really not doing any such thing this early on. Fans have been seeking clues & trying to decipher hidden meanings to every little tidbit of info we get about TFA, but it's all just grabbing a few dots in the sky and saying "that's Orion the Hunter!"
  3. You've got the photo set to private, so if there's a bigger version we can't access it. I'm guessing the hooded character is someone from Droid Tales. I only see the vaguest smudge above 3PO's head that MIGHT be the V-ship you mention... but considering the rest of the backdrop is pretty ROTJ-inspired, it probably isn't a TFA ship. Also, that Death Star is 10143, the Death Star II.
  4. It's possible the TIE isn't just the standard TIE, but the "Special Forces" TIE seen in some promotional art from Celebration as well as the 2nd teaser (shooting up the hangar; there's one docked in the upper left corner, too). Those special TIEs have a belly-mounted swiveling cannon, have 'wheel/cog' things mounted on the inside of the wings where they connect to the main body supports, red markings it seems, and what seems to be a narrow window on the back of the TIE between the twin ion engine ports. It's possible the TIE is a 2-seater, but maybe the pilot seat just swivels around to access the rear window? Not sure if the changes could account for an extra 100 pieces, but it's a possibility. Otherwise, if it's a standard TIE with a fairly similar build, maybe there's some small scenery/machinery to go with it, perhaps a small speederbike?
  5. Here's my entry! Smugglers' Stash
  6. Score! The smugglers have nabbed some new Imperial contraband, worth a lot to their employer. They're no strangers to Imperial goods...their own trusty astromech is a memory-wiped Imperial droid. They've been discovered! But how? Maybe their astromech's memory wipe wasn't as successful as they thought? Use the firing blaster cannon to cover their escape! The build includes a swoop bike with detachable cargo sled, swiveling blaster cannon emplacement with extra ammo, Imperial contraband, and a cargo box to store it in. includes 4 minifigures: 1 human smuggler with blaster, 1 Miraluan smuggler with blaster, 1 Mon Cala smuggler with blaster, and 1 astromech droid
  7. I'd go for the Tyderium. The Assault Carrier looks like a fun build with some neat pieces (the cockpits of the mini-TIEs look great!), but the figure selection is disappointing. More Imp officers and pilots are nice and all, but they're both just generic troops. Kallus lacks his helmet, Sabine should've had hers in the Ezra's Speeder Bike set... While it's a nice alternate way to get Kallus, the real selling points of the figures are just Sabine's helmet and the Imperial astromech, with its new body print and 1st clear head. I used to be more excited about the assortment, but it's really a bit lackluster for such a pricey set. Tydirium, OTOH, has the second appearance of New Chewie, but Han, Leia, and the Rebels are new, Han finally with a (printed) coat, Leia finally with removable poncho. I like the look of the build a lot, too, tho the interior seems a bit cramped.
  8. Pardon me butting in, it's from the old 7180 B-wing at Rebel Control Center set!
  9. There is no character visible in the concept art, nothing's really 'revealed'... it's just a location & a ship, both of which may be substantially different in the final film, like the TIE Darth Punk posted (maybe it's in the film, maybe it morphed into the V-ship we see in the teaser & the Celebration poster & the new Lego set's manual--both have tall wings, after all)
  10. It isn't "major spoilers" by any means. We've seen photos from Vanity Fair of Rey standing on a downed AT-AT leg... one of the first leaked set photos last year was of an AT-AT foot on its side. And rumors around the ship in the belly of the AT-AT are that it's now an abandoned concept.
  11. Gotta snap pics of mine still!
  12. I've taken to using Panaka heads for some clones, and have taken advantage of decent prices on Cyborg & Winston Zeddemore heads to diversify some other minifigs (Winston's mustache may not quite match Lando's, but it does the job under the Skiff Guard helmet, freeing up Lando's grinning head for my General Calrissian figure!). I imagine it's tricky to nail a particular character's skin tone with existing Lego colors, which may be why they don't feature as much diversity as they could/should (also it's possible consistency plays a role... was Medium Dark Flesh/Medium Nougat available in 2008 when TCW began? Trying to do a quick BL search, 2010 is the earliest appearance I've found of bricks in that color... Maybe that's why clones all had regular light flesh skin, and why they still do)
  13. I would hope we'll get a Lego Rebels Rex in the next year or two (along with grown-up Ahsoka, Sabine with new hair color, the new Inquisitors, maybe Sato & some Phoenix Squad folk...), and it'd sure be nice if they finally took the chance to update his skin tone... he shouldn't be paler than Kanan.
  14. Love that cannon! The shovel for the front leg, the small pistols on the back legs, the microphones on either side... good stuff! Also love the troops. If they'd knock the rank badge off Cracken's torso (tho not as obvious as the one on Antilles' torso, or on Hoth Rebel uniforms), it & his legs would make for some great general Rebel troops--non-Endor, non-Hoth, non-RFTs, just standard soldiers, and perfect for a BP!
  15. Probably. I hope Lego tackles some holes in the OT/PT (more the OT) amidst all the hoopla over the new films & shows... minifigure-wise, I'd still like 'em to basically cover the rest of the vintage Kenner line (need a couple Klaatu, a Nikto--more, to cover those Hasbro has made over the years--a couple Ewoks tho they aren't quite as pressing, Ugnaughts, a few others) including updates, like Lando, Tarkin, RFTs, Bespin Luke... some Cloud City (Cloud Car, with pilots!), etc. But who knows?
  16. Might be shown that way on the back... seeing as it's firing here, maybe "wings up, lower wings down" is its "lock S-foils in attack position" mode, with the "V" shape being standard flight/landing mode. If this really is Kylo's ship--and given the teasers, it probably is--then he'll undoubtedly be included. I just hope it isn't the only way to get him (in a set, that is)!
  17. Yeah, when I saw the 2nd teaser which showed this ship, I thought "Ugh, that's gonna be an annoying Lego set... it's all 'wing'." I passed on the Pre Vizsla Mando Fighter partly because so much of it was just giant wings--not so much because of all the exposed studs, tho I get why that's an issue (especially when looking at the pics of the old Twilight set), but more just because I think of SW starfighters as "snub fighters", more like the OT ships, not behemoths that could nearly rival the Falcon if given a bit more bulk. That said, I like Vizsla's ship over this design for now... hopefully there are lots of play features, a good interior, and not too many cool figures exclusive to this set If it's a "bad guy Falcon" in terms of screen time, features, etc, maybe it'll be cool! I wanna see more pics before I totally write it off... Bring on the T-70 X-wing!
  18. Stormtroopers and Jawas (Jawas in an under-$100 set)! Like hotcakes, it would sell.
  19. Nice! You worked in one of my favorite Rebel vehicles Hasbro produced several years back (with Whose Line Is It Anyway? star Ryan Stiles as a Rebel tech), and a Kenner mini-rig in one BP! Great troop builder set for the Alliance!
  20. For helmet-on, visor-down I might just use Theron Nett's head from the Microfighter X-wing... visor-up, the T-16 pilot's visorless face should work nicely, tho you lose the mic from the Microfighter pilot head. With no helmet, any fairly plain head with black eyebrows might work, or even the plain fleshie face with brown brows & a bit of a smile... some good candidates I saw on a recent search might be Ezra's head, the 'stern eyebrows', slight smile head used on some Imp Officers (tho usually the mouth seems set too far down), and maybe even the head used on an Imp Shuttle Pilot, Hoth Rebel Soldier, & General Veers. I didn't snap pics, but in a recent order I got a pair of legs from 75040 Obi-Wan and slapped 'em on my Nahdar Vebb figure, improving him a smidge over the plain dark tan legs.
  21. They'll probably work 'em in for a couple sets, or just save 'em for BPs and Rebels sets. I would've loved that as a kid, but the drawbacks are immediately obvious... round 1x1 studs are tough to find after they get shot across a room, bounce off a piece of furniture or hardwood floors, get nabbed by a precocious pet, etc... Nerf darts, they are not. Still kinda fun, tho!
  22. Eek! Gotta get to building!
  23. Neat idea! A Jawa/droid BP could be a lot of fun... ...but I'd feel a little ripped off if one of the 'minifigs' is a 3x3 dish with a lever on top.
  24. Dropbox isn't the best host for things... try Flickr maybe?
  25. Microfighter AT-AT is totes adorbz. That's enough to justify the entire line (I'm just bummed that the black-clad Imp Crewman was in wave 1, just before they switched to the new hats! We still need the new Officer Cap in black, and I think the SD would've flown off the shelves if they had the new hat mold easily-accessible). The minifig choices could be better, but there have been some decent ones... I still really want a mini Sandcrawler with a Jawa! The eyebrows are identical to Hoth Han's... and what you're seeing in the video are two dots, but blurry because the video isn't in pristine quality. It's the exact same head. No question about it.
