  1. Looks like the new white bulldog coming this year is just a collar recolour given the gold tooth - from red (in set 60246) to teal (in set 60417)
  2. Bonus points to the first person who gets to buy a blister pack of 5 bulldogs, 5 squirrels & 5 butterflies
  3. I try not to get my hopes up. The other side could be cyborg for what it’s worth - the French Bulldog getting 5 colours and ‘normal’ variants would make it at least top equal with the standard shepherd, which comes in two dark nougat versions, one dark orange, one white (Dalmatian) and one or two black (the Grim <which I would count> and the Celestial dog <which I would not count>) … so arguably 5 versions over 4 colours
  4. Shame the squirrel isn’t a recolour - but yay for another dog. That’s the first dog in dark tan, I think, and it makes the fourth recolour of the French Bulldog (and pretty sure there’s another in the Space CMF series, but who knows how it’s printed 🤖👽).
  5. ‘Jungle’ set wise, it now seems clear they are going for different locations, given the named species. To that end, it makes sense to me that they would visit all three main jungle areas, and given we have a new mould for Asia (red panda), new moulds for Africa (gorillas), I think we might speculate there will also be a specifically South American one. Given that we know the tiger and croc return, I’d guess that if they go for something specific that it will be either a capybara (also showing up in Disney set), or a sloth (already in Friends sets), both of those are very popular and well-known animals. Another possibility is an updated macaw parrot, I wouldn’t *hate* it if they recoloured the falcon mould for a parrot, but these days I expect more! I did think that, using existing moulds, they could look at something very specific like a set with a small area of beach/trees, recoloured big cat jaguar, and reusing toucan and turtle. Now I think that South America deserves new mould love too. Also I am really hoping that we get a few recolours of some existing creatures, especially the birds like flamingo (coral please please please) and toucan. It will be interesting to see how they spread the animals between sets, and for sure we know that they are not going to do location-based sets and then mix up the species in each set - so we won’t get gorillas AND tigers in one set, for example. Damn I need the pictures. 🥵
  6. How is it that the olive green frog looks like a dog poo, when I’ve never thought of the brown one that way?
  7. Probably. We are fine with mohawk zombie ghost cyborg space cats, and pink crocagators, but we draw the line at a small part being realistically recoloured!
  8. At last! someone with manageable expectations!
  9. Assume this is what we will get, but maybe they will go for something brighter. Okay, maybe not *that* bright …
  10. Disagree. If the big cat mould can cover so many species, so can the bear one ;)
  11. I was assuming it might be like the ‘Missions’ sets we got…
  12. where can I place a bet on there being more than 4 animals? I do need the money.
  13. Oops. My marine bias is showing. I mean, a recolour/print on existing bear moulds would work Nothing weird about it. Plus giant pandas are just useless at most things - so trust them to take an age to show up in Lego form ;)
  14. Or, more likely, reuse the seal
  15. Yeah that’s a reprint, not a new mould slot :)
  16. It would certainly be in keeping with the recent trend. Pretty much all ‘larger’ animals now have a specific ‘baby’ counterpart (cow, horse, bear, big cat, elephant, crocagator, turtle, seal) as well as some smaller ones (sheep, pig), and we know that the upcoming gorilla follows suit. But not all of the medium to smaller animals do (dolphin, monkey, otter, skunk, shark, most dogs) nor any of the birds, or the ‘reindeer’. So I think it might be a coin toss as to whether we get a specific baby Red Panda, or get one or two in the set. Might be worth looking at the trend in numbers of new moulds in recent anima-focussed waves. The older jungle theme only gave us a new big cat, and a tarantula (2). The Wildlife rescue theme gave us two elephants, monkey, male lion & cub (5). The Arctic/ocean theme gave us new orca, big turtle, seal and baby seal (4). Other associated animal moulds have arisen in other themes or CMFs which are complimentary and have been reused, of course (small turtle, skunk, otter, hare, bunny, owls, toucan, python etc) So if we assumed 4 new animal moulds as reasonable - then that would be the gorilla, baby-rilla, red panda plus one other. In recent years they have tended to be more generous rather than less generous, but it’s also worth thinking about how and where any new moulds would be usefully reused. I’d personally love a baby red panda, but would be more happy for a new mould to give us another new species.
  17. Oooft. Yes please … off to remortgage the house.
  18. I feel it’s probable that the existing, and new since the last jungle theme, moulds of monkey, large snake and crocagators are also possibilities to show up
  19. Wouldn’t be the first time there’d been a mistake in translation with set news … that said, ‘gorilla’ seems unlikely to be wrongly translated! But it depends what images someone has seen and how they understand them. Remember when we were told that the Dreamzz line included chimpanzee characters!
  20. The Bricksearch app is so great. Hope these codes continue!
  21. Kinda greedy, yeah ;) Ooft. Hope this is correct! Also hope (and assume) tiger gets a reprint and recolour I am also expecting generous helpings of some of the new plant parts which have come along since the last time Lego went jungling!
  22. Is it any wonder it’s hard to keep up …
  23. How very dare you! I’m glad I’ve sussed the scanning thing, as the weights which I thought were pretty solid ended up being way out on the few I had. It’s a legitimate struggle when your only life skill is feeling CMF packets, and you’re no longer able to 😜
  24. Does anyone know if there’s an existing thread about the new ‘fauna’ sets?
  25. ***SCRATCH THIS - It does work perfectly well. I was just not focusing it properly. Sheesh I’m such an old person with technology. Back in my day you could feel the packets etc …*** So I’ve picked up a few of these today, largely to familiarise myself with the ways of identifying what’s in the box. Weight wise - seems relatively straightforward and they all correspond to specific figures, and aren’t very overlapping. I simply cannae get the QR code reader to work though, it just doesn’t seem to want to scan it at all. Have I maybe got the wrong scanner app (i’m on IPhone, and the app is literally called QR Code Reader). Any pointers welcome!
