  1. It looks super nice! Ladder seems a bit on the heavy side though, but that's an OK compromise given the spectacular looks! Great job!
  2. Congratulations to the winners! All three podium positions are deserving, but there were a lot of really great and original entries in this contest, just the way we like it! Didn't get around to voting (sorry about that), and never got around to finishing my own entry (even though it was almost there). Looking forward to next competition. With the holidays coming up, hopefully more people will have time to join in and take part!
  3. I have been fascinated by your work for quite a while (well, ever since I first saw some of it), and I undestand why Edwin thinks of you as a "master" when it comes to ship building Being a naval architect by education, and very interested in ship design, I am simply in awe at the details in these models! But the possibly most impressive aspect is the way the hulls are shaped so well Great work, and looking very much forward to seeing more of your work in the future!
  4. If you need them now, I'd reckommend Bricklink, as I doubt they will be a lot cheaper directly from TLG
  5. I've been checking Bricks&Pieces regularly, and none of the new parts have been available since the sets showed up there. Remember someone on Eurobricks speculating that they would become available in January? Anyway; you're not alone in wanting them I have bought individual cylinders and switches from B&P earlier (not V2 of course), however when I tried to buy hoses, I was told they were only sold bundled with the rest of the pneumatic parts for a given set.. I actually ordered some V2 pneumatic parts on Bricklink, and had my first really bad BL experience.. All of a sudden a trusted seller with several thousand positive sales behind him became unresponsive, and a lot of people never received their orders. Luckily, PayPal refunded my money relatively painlessly
  6. Hello! I am sorry to say I haven't done much progress since last time, there simply hasn't been enough time... I was going to continue a couple of days ago, but had some LDraw problems, so I had to use a lot of time figuring that out. But I will finish it! Most of the hard parts are done really, figuring out in what order to build the internals and mechanical part is what has taken the longest time this far. I will update here once I have some noteworthy progress to show
  7. By all means, what happened was horrible indeed, but I disapprove of the way it gets so much media attention. Things like this happens all the time, yet it's only when it happens close to home that the (western) world unites, shows solidarity, etc etc. You didn't see all of Facebook changing their profile pictures to the Lebanese flag when just a couple of days ago suicide bombers killed at least 40 and injured hundreds in Beirut. Hopefully this horrific act of terrorism will indeed have a uniting effect towards fighting a common enemy, but it shouldn't have to for that to happen. French people shouldn't be "worth more" to the rest of the world than citizens of any other country. Please don't hate on me for posting this, as it's not necessarily aimed at being politically correct, and just reflects my personal opinion. But the way I see it, this is one of the major flaws of the world today. Condolenses goes out to anyone directly affected by these attacks. But these kind of things happen on an almost daily basis for lots of people around the world EDIT: Also, I don't feel this topic has anything to do on a Lego forum. There are more than enough other channels for people to show their support and express their feelings. Again, just my personal opinion
  8. A Batmobile would kind of make sense, as something like that would definitely hit a wider audience than a "just Technic" set, even if it is a Lamborghini/Ferrari/Ford/Whatever.. Pretty much guarantees a lot of sales in spite of the high price, so I can see that as a fairly safe bet for TLG. That being said, I hope it is not the case, as it's bound to be black (with some very very dark gray), and Technical functionality would probably be not first priority.
  9. Wow, these kind of Tow Truck MOCs never seizes to amaze me! Great job indeed! I can see that you have drawn inspiration from some of the other great ones, but this is definitely your build! Deserves to have some proper high quality photos (not meaning to offend your photo skills here ) taken of it (proper lighting and background and possibly some post-editing to really capture it on its best!
  10. Using a couple of Technic bricks, pins and axles doesn't make it Technic. I wouldn't call them Creator either.. IMO all these are pretty far from Technic, yet some of them are probably a little bit more advanced than most other City sets. Another good example of sets like these is the 7905 Tower Crane I do however like 7632, and would like to own that set
  11. Thanks, I understand
  12. Don't know if this has been asked/answered before, but I'm curious: Why do you always queue up a whole bunch of posts for coming entries in the HoF topic, instead of just making them when the entries are added?
  13. Although it is probably one of the most popular categories for Technic MOCing, I would actually like to see an "Earth-mover" contest, sort of similar to the recent crane contest. Seeing as it is so common, people would actually have to think a little outside the box to make something unique/fascinating, something that I think happened now in TC8 as well (amongst others, the entries of Zblj, Erik Leppen, DavSod, rhplus, JamesJT, aminich/Ludo Visser are all models not often seen in Technic form). I'd like to see the same with earth moving equipment like loaders, dozers, excavators etc etc
  14. Also for the future; is it really necessary to create a topic with one, short question, that has only one, short answer? Couldn't this have been posted in the General Discussion topic?
  15. Looks super smooth, the scaling is really spot on! Easily on par with Lipko's RS4 RS5 DTM! Now we only need a Mercedes as well!
  16. Wow, those pictures are very crisp! Thought I'd share some of the pics that I'm fairly satisfied with as well, after I started to actually take some care when doing pictures They have all been shown in their respective topics earlier, but anyhow, here we go: 8420 MOD Crane Truck with trailer and Swingloader Mk IV Recovery Truck 2 Excavator/Materials handler All pictures are unedited except for using the "auto-adjust" feature in Windows Photo Gallery
  17. I don't think you should post the confidential pics directly in this forum, pretty sure there are rules against that.. That being said, looks like we'll get new panels in Light Blue at least. None of the models look too good in my opinion, if I had to buy one of them, I think it'd be the dragster.. Front looks horrible, but the detailing of the engine seems to be quite good, and I want me some Tumbler tyres Panelling on the helicopter is extremely smooth. Don't think I've seen an official model with so few holes in it before, but the helicopter itself looks rather bulky, and definitely not based off any one real life counterpart
  18. He can't simply flip the wheels, as the 3x5 L shaped liftarms obviously can't fit inside the rim. You're going to have a huge Ackerman situation going on there as well! Intentional?
  19. Hello efferman! I just placed an order for some parts you designed, and I am curious how long it usually takes for shapeways to process, make and ship the order? Do they normally provide tracking numbers? Thanks in advance EDIT: I now see the estimated shipping date is ten days from now
  20. I hear that, mine also likes PF wires. Lost two M-motors (luckily) two the menacing jaws of my feline buddy. On topic; I love the concept, never seen one of these before, looks like something that would be great to own, if nothing else, then for the fun of it! You have seemingly done a great job replicating the looks and functions of the real thing, but I'd try to redo some of the gearing to have the function speeds be more proportional to eachother. Of course I have no idea how this looks on the inside, and for all I know there are limitations preventing this to be redesigned, but from my point of view, the speed of the functions is a thing that holds back an otherwise great and unique model! Great work!
  21. Wow! That is one of the coolest and most unique MOCs I've seen in quite some time! The functions of the model seem well implemented, and it also looks extremely good in black! Not to mention the sticker work! Bravo!
  22. I'd say this hardly requires a dedicated topic, and most certainly not when the title is so misleading How about just using the General Part Discussion topic?
