Finally there is a post on Eurobrick! After I saw some parts of the work from pictures of the World Copenhagen I was wondering if I will ever saw closers details. Really well done, so amazing.
-
This is really impressive! Shelob is looking way better than in the Lego set. The cave and its spider web are amazing. Great touch with Gollum waiting!
-
This is great, I really like those 1x1 green trans plate! It is really awesome well done!
-
Well adding some emblamatics stores like Tim Horton or even Canadian Tire... It depends of course on which region your village is situated (East or West). But a canadian snack bar is also very common in these village.
-
That ia a really cool idea. Maybe I miss the information, but where did you get the idea to do canadian shop and then a canadian village? I really like the counter inside with the computer, it is well thinking! The post office box is also neat, maybe change the 2x2 plate by one 1x2 cheese slope red on a side and an other one put on a 1x2 red plate, to make like a real candian post box! I hope my explanation were enought clear and you're not lost in it! Oh and by the way, I wish to have the same employee at my post office, because mine are not so happy! And there is always a line up... I hope to see more!

Congrats for all the winners! Well done! And Kristel, you've won two contests in a row wow!

MOC: Happy Valentine's Day 2013 ! It's the day of LOVE
harton replied to Schfio factory's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Ohh! this is really cute!I really like the effect you've made! Happy Valentine's day to you folks. -
Again, after what I said on Flick'r this is really crazy, I just imagine an entire road like this, with a few different building and I'm getting so amaze, wow... I hope you'll do continue in your modular constuction in the same way!
-
I finally did an interior render, which is very different than on any other program I worked with... Those camera positions are really frustating. SO, after many hours of rendering here is the results. So as you can see it is a view of the boudoir and the kitchen. Here is a render view of a possible interior furniture. You can see the boudoir at the left and a part of the kitchen at the right. The dining room is at the current point of view of the photo. For the kitchen I use some metallic pieces, to make a stainless look. You also notice the windows are not there, well simply because I wanted to finish it! The render would have continue to run if I have put them! I do believe interior rendering are not so common, if you see some, it would be interesting to share it. Thanx again, comments welcome, Harton

[MOC] the Hobbit: Out of the Frying-Pan into the Fire
harton replied to Legopard's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Wow, great creation from a great movie! Is there any other views of the scene? Your tree is really well made. Well done. Oh and by the way, I found that your eagle is definitely better than the one in the upcoming Battle at the Black Gate (79007) set. -
Too many choice! 5. Freighter over Ice Planet Biodome - Lt. de Martinet - 1 point (nice use of the old pieces!) 9. Micro Blacktron Base - jedi1984 - 1 point (because of the effect of the flying guy in front and the base in the back) 27. Research Base Kappa - J4ke - 1 point (nice modular research base, I always like "base") 72. The City of Tomorrow - touthomme - 1 point (because it goes in the same way of my Evolocity project, well done!) 94. Pokémon - Sky-Fi Stadium - DarthNick - 1 point (Love it! One of my favorite game!)
-
19. ROOK - 1 point 29. Gunman - 1 point 33. davaoeno - 1 point 35. aemil - 2 points (really well made!)
-
This is really great! I really appreciate the corner balcony with those angle doors, well done! I think you had a great idea to put some black panel instead of real trans parts. The tree parts are really beautifull, how long does it takes you to render?
-
Wow, This is one of my favorite town building. This shape is not much use, really impressive, those details are simple stunning, the color is also a really good choice, such as the interior of the paharmacy and the third floor! The street view with the bus station is clever as the lamp post. As a student in architecture I really appreciate it!
-
Well this is really clever, those amazing details! The color choice is also really great, where did you get all those different pieces? They are not so common, if I'm right. And of course, how can we not talk about the simple but beautifull working elevator, it is really neat. How long does it takes you to make it on LDD? I'm curious.

Well there is always a beginning somewhere! I'm sure you have some projects that can be made in Lego, we always have some. It is good you join the club, we will grow bit by bit, one creation at the time! But for now discussion is always interesting, like sharing ideas! Well thank you, I'm trying to be one (a professionnal!), I really like to add glass, to maximize the amount of light, it reduces when it is sunny in winter, instead of having a plain wall, with "normal" windows, technical details. I won't said it is modern style, more "contemporain", with some Panfab panel. It is more thanmy quote, architecture is everything you see! From your pen, to your car tires, everything! I actually tried a render from the interior, it seems good, but I got more tests to do, to continu... Harton

Thanks, I'm quite happy to see that you like it. And because some of you ask me, I'm actually working on an interior views! So I hope to be able to show you till the end of the month.

Hello folks, Its been a while since I post something in this section, but this time is over, and I restart this in big! Just to let you know, I've been working on some house modeling since 3 months and I can finally show you the first results of that hard working session! In this period I was not able to built as I wish, I have (again today) deal with my schoolar projects, which means, I cannot run Autocad and POVray at the same times... Because my motherboard card will really not appreciate it! I'm trying many different things and I'm learning how to work with Povray, so for the moment I'll expect to show you a new creation in begining of February. I also at the end ot this post present you a personnal project, that I wish will interest some of you, city builders. So without any word on this, I will now show you my first creation in LDD, I expect finish the hand-build soon. So I present you: The Lumber House Here's the text, if your not able to see it clearly (due to size limitation): "The Lumber House is listed as a pioneer in the way of building green homes, because in addition to the concept of sustainable construction, it is equipped with the latest domotic advance. The home is warm and perfect for any meetings with relatives or simply to relax and admire the view. Being on an elevated foundation gives the house an impression of lightness. Although it is a single-storey, it has a high ceiling in the living room to enhance the supply of light. The house roof is divided in two sections, with a green roof on its upper part, reducing heat loss caused by the large windows. The use of timber fills our senses, acting more than just siding and structure. This model is mobile and thus, respectful for the environment, only one base is needed. The Lumber House can be perched on top of a hill as the same ways it would on riverside." The house has: - 1 kitchen - 1 living room (with a fire place) - 1 bedroom (option with 2) - 1 W-C - Enought storage (inside and outside (the red square)) Notice the main door is a little hidden, the front view has only one window, which gives a really good privacy look and let the other sides have all the sunlight. Notice also the "frosted" window in the second perspective view for the washroom. So I now presents you different views: Persective Front and top Lateral and perspective 2 To see the pictures / panels in a bigger scales: http://www.flickr.co...otos/harton888/ Comments and suggestions are always welcome! --------- Okay, I hope you have like what you just saw. Now I want to talk to you of the group I create, a groupe name: It is a simple groupe created to regroup some study and realisations about Lego architectural and design creations! If you have some techniques you can share it to us, if you have made some really cool house, institutions, shop or any other types of building, and that it is good looking or you have made a good presentation work, well add it to the group. I always said do it as a porfessionnal would do (you're the professionnial!). If you have some cool city creations, such as exterior parts, bench, park elements, etc, show us. Because we have, as citizen of every city around the globe, a quest to accomplish, which is to made our city evole and progress in the good way. This means, new involvements, new way of doing thing, which results to a new desgn a new architecture, because adding trees in our streets will not gonna save us if we don't do any other efforts. Let's talk about these new creations, let's invent them, let's build them in Lego first, let the artist in you save us. Show us what you are able to do and put it on EB to let the others know and add it to the group solution. The only requirements, are to have fun and to have a clean presentation! The future is now! Link for the Evolocity group: http://www.flickr.co...oups/evolocity/ Thanks, Harton

Okay hello folks, I am a bit late in the contest but there enought plenty of time to MOC, so I'll present you my entry. Before: And after, presenting you, The space Architect! The future is now! In some years, every single architect will be able to create and build their projects on the brand new 3D holographic table called HAM (Holographic Architecture Modeling). You will simple have to use the laser gun and wear the protecting helmet to guide you in your movements. The HAM table is a totally reflective surface, once you have design what you want it is automaticaly saved in the HAM memory, birng it with you and show your clients! I put a light under tha table! Hope you like it! Harton

[Software] LDD2PovRay
harton replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Hello guys, I got some questions for you, Since I began to work with LDD and Povray I attempt to explore and push down the limits of the programs and by the side of my mother board card... I'm working in architecture (I'm actually a student in architecture) and in my spare times I'm actually do some LDD modeling for clients (because they found my apporach interesting and different) and of course for my own pleasure. For the moment I did dome house and I was really happy of the results in Povray, I did multiple views, like we use to do for a presentation, and I was a bit suprise of the different lapse of time between each one. I'm use to do some long rendering with CAD programs and some of them took around 22 hours... 1) Does the rendering time depends on what I see, from the view I choose? 2) Then, is it preferable to cut what's behind my current view or it doesn't change anything? I already read that the use and/or view of trans parts add times, which is quite normal by adding windows in my houses, cause it looks strange with many holes instead of windows. For information I'm using most of time the part 459486: Wall Element 1x4x3 (trans). I would really like to show you what I did, but for the moment I have to wait for the authorization of publishing from my client. 3) Have you any tips on how to reduce the time of the render and keep the trans part effect, because I want to continue house modelling? Just image if I have to do a curtain wall, I can feel the pain of my computer! I hope to bee able to show you soon, Thanx, Harton -
I actually agreed with some of you guys, saying Imperial Hotel is becoming one of the most interesting Architecture set after Robbie House, Farnsworth House and maybe we could add Falling water, which is not much detailed as some example I saw or the new Villa Savoy. I think TLG as done a good job, they could have done better, but if we consider that what they reproduct is the only part that have been conserved, well its a good reproduction. Except the fact that they could have use some red, I think results worth it, techniques have been improve, and details are still beautifully render, but will I buy it? Not sure yet...

Hello fellow builders, As many of you I've just made something special for the Christmas period which is really important for my family. So I've made something personnal that I usually make every year, paying forward. Because every one know this period is one of the most difficult of the year, needed person can be alone and starving, they certainly deserve some love an atention and they usualy ready to help and to give when we ask them. See the little scene and I hope it will make you have at least a thought for these people outside. (I hope it is enought big to read) So it is in fact a different Christmas vision, Santa bring them gift too! Some more views (itinerant and his bench) I've made out some poésie with this... And finally let that bench never be again the home for needed people. More on my page to: http://www.flickr.co...otos/harton888/ Merry Christmas to all of you, Harton

Oh this is really beautifull! I really like the statue, we really fell the Christmas in your scene, well done.

Under 100euro and good to display, I will easily recommend ton anyone the 21009 Farnsworth House, from the Lego Architecture serie, http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=21009-1. It is also easy to clean, because of the flat tiles, if you have ever wonder on cleaning the dust! ;) Just saying... Hope it helps you!
