I saw those too. I thought the Ariel one was a little bit cheating as they are using hinges to angle some of the hair. This seems to go against the spirit of all perpendicular connections, and it would have been easy enough to make it more brickheadz like using curved slopes. But the rest of it is superb. I also quite like these WW2 MOCS (I won't embed them in case anyone is offended). *link removed*

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
MAB replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yeah, it would be interesting to see if how they answer those. My guesses at whether they would answer ... 1. is commenting on past (so presumably OK) or "I'd like to see a ..." which would probably just be something in their own interests and not a company statement. 2. again probably fine (and the answer is probably "We had lots of cool ideas but went with the party theme because it is a lot of fun"), although they probably wouldn't mention what they chose not to do. 3. I doubt they would answer in a meaningful way, aside from a generic statement like "We decide what sets to produce based on and to fit in with our current portfolio.". 4. I doubt they would answer categorically yes or no. The second part they could say "yes, but we normally aim for a mixture of characters to please all our fans". It is also not clear to me that S14 was aimed at being seasonal. In the UK it was out in the first week in August, so about three months before Halloween. -
So use whatever colour you like, or is cheapest, or you have available. If it doesn't need to look like anything in particular, you have complete freedom. Personally, I'd be opening up the front central section with more windows, as they break up large expanses of wall.

I thought the colour tan is reasonably accurate. An alternative would be to use other natural colour accents (so dark tan and flesh, browns, dark orange, the odd bit of grey, etc) using 1x2 or 1x1 plates in the brick work to break up the tan a bit. You don't need much to make a wall look more natural.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours

Even if asked subtly, I cannot see them giving out product information. It is like the answers you get from customer service. "Thanks for your great idea about XXXXX. We'd love that too. You must be a real fan of LEGO to come up with ideas like that." -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
MAB replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
As an official announcement or an off the cuff remark? I think standard procedure is that LEGO will do what is right for them at the time. Would they ever go a year without a regular CMF series? Sure, if it suits them. I expect them to keep doing one regular CMF per year until they don't want to, at which point they will change. I highly doubt they have a policy on how many they will issue per year. -
They should have done a set with the Classic Space logo on a shield. It would be great to see all the anti-NK people buying NK sets for it.

Probably no more than "people" would love a castle theme, or a historical theme, or an explorers theme, or a space theme, or a monsters theme, or a sports theme, or an underwater theme, or a zoo theme, ...

I'd wager the right people in LEGO already know about these figures anyway. After all, LEGO designed them for Dimensions. And given that LEGO specifically bans any Doctor Who submissions now (and presumably forever) from the IDEAS site, they have no hope. If tweeting ideas to LEGO to circumvent the IDEAS rules was seen to work, then IDEAS would essentially be dead.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours

The problem is they will only really answer questions like "where do you get your inspiration from?" rather than "how many licensed / regular CMF series will you make next year". -
Minnie Mouse has leaked on instagram.

Have you ever thought that not everything needs your input? You accused someone else of being wrong as you had seen high resolution images of the box art (that you were not sharing) that proved you were right. If you are claiming other people are wrong with no evidence, then yes, it should be corrected. Stop making stuff up claiming you have other knowledge, when clearly you don't. False rumours should be pointed out.

Plus seeing as this is LEGO's own artwork being tweeted at them, I imagine they have already thought about doing a CMF line already. And decided against it. If they were going to do one, they would have done it. It's also not really news anymore. It has been known for about a year that the new Doctor is going to be a woman and she has already appeared. The old ones aren't. Show those to kids one at a time without the Doctor Who branding, and ask them who they are. They will probably get 11, 12, 13 and 14.

What does the little display measure in your lipo setup? -
What is trickery about it? Blow it up and it is clear the hand is inside the hole in the head and they have angled it so you don't see the torso's neck. Is the high res image that you have seen the same pose as the one above? As even at low resolution it is clear that the hand is INSIDE the head and definitely not in front. The shadows inside the hand make that clear. Maybe you can post the high resolution shot you have. In other shots of the minifigures the head is attached to the torso but they are different to that view on the front of the box.

They are just stickers, aren't they? Buy a couple of extra flag panels and the problem is solved.

What franchise should Lego do next?
MAB replied to frikandeloorlog's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I often wonder why LEGO didn't do Thomas the Tank engine system sets when they made duplo sets. I guess either the license was only for duplo or they didn't see a market for the age range that can put lego together. -
I don't think the designs are very good at all. The facial expressions are way off to the point of making these look absolutely awful. What effort? They are ripped off from the Dimensions artwork. They have just taken those designs and stuck awful heads on them, removing the decent parts such as the scarf and hair/hat combos. Except for Tom Baker's torso/legs, they ripped off Brick Bunch customs design for that: They are essentially retweeting LEGO's own artwork to them, after amending it to look worse.

I don't have one. I like Indy, LOTR+Hobbit, some OT SW, CMF, Monster Fighters, Creator (3-in-1s), Creator Expert, SH minifigs but not the sets. I have favourite sets across many themes. My main interests are spaceships, historic/castle and trains, although I'm not a fan of Space, Castle or City/trains as themes. I don't think I keep anything within those themes as official sets, preferring just MOCs. I'm not into Elves or Friends, but my daughter is, and there are some fantastic sets in those even if I don't like the theme.

I wish LEGO would think about it too! So many of the big releases are January 1st, which is annoying as if they were pre-Christmas instead you could (a) get them for Christmas and (b) build them over the holidays.

Series 6 was early Dec 2011 in the UK. Series 9 in 2012 was even earlier, I think November but 2012 got very messed up anyway due to the extra Team GB (we had 4 series in stores that year). TLM is in the January slot for 2013/14 but I don't recall the date for that one (I wasn't really interested). Series 13 was December 2014 for us and Series 15 in December 2015. I think 15 was really late in the US, as I remember sending whole sets of that over. TLBM 1 and 2 would have been in the January slots for 2017 and 2018, and again I didn't really follow those so I'm not sure of the dates.

It has always been a bit variable anyway, but I like it when the figures come out pre-Christmas rather than in January. The CMF make great little stocking fillers. But if the only ones out at the time are the September ones, they are boring by Christmas (as the kids have them all by that time).

This is the voice of the mysterons ... I remember it being (re)shown in the 1970s. I had a Dinky SPV. I imagine younger viewers remember it too as it was also repeated in the 1980s and again in the 90s. I think it became quite popular in the 90s again as my nephew was always dressing up as Captain Scarlett and had loads of modern toys based on the series. I think it was also going to be reshown in 2001 but one of the episodes about the attack on London got cancelled due to 9/11.
