  1. That's because he is history. I think he didn't come back because he is not that popular with kids today. They don't know him, there is no reason for him to be popular. He is a nice "easter egg" for a certain age range of adults, but that is it. He looks quite old fashioned now too. So they could update him, but then adults will complain that he is not the "real" Johnny Thunder. It is just better to come up with a similar character (like Jake Raines) that can fit in with any storyline they want. Look at the TLM minifigure on BL, he is very cheap - nobody wants him. Although Jake Raines is just as bad here too. Whereas Indiana Jones keeps his value, which tells you something about what people really want in an Adventures type theme.
  2. And presumably you would buy one if the price was right. So if desirability drops and so price drops because of that, then at some point the price is right for someone. Which is exactly what goes on with every other part (and market forces and all that).
  3. I guess it depends how many you have. I wouldn't want to have to sort through loads when selling a particular one just to make maybe an extra 5c.
  4. For height, just get another couple of the brown half cylinders. Presumably you will also need to extend the axle inside to keep the top spinning, or spin the top half the trunk too. I guess it depends how much of it spins (the whole trunk or just the top branches).
  5. Goofy looks great, it is a shame him and Pluto were missing from the first series. If they do Hercules like that I hope they move the belt buckle up slightly onto the torso. Those fleshie legs with "skirt" armour would be great for historical armies (Greeks or Romans). Jafar - He calls the snake staff the one from Ninjago - this is not correct. That style was from the CMF series (Pharaoh, then King Tut). The Ninjago one is very different and not as good for this character. CMF Ninjago Belle - why does she need a new dress. The CMF Queen's dress in yellow would be perfect here. Pooh - would probably be best done ewok style, to get a belly on him.
  6. I doubt it. All of the tree builds in the Hobbit series are essentially brick built, whereas the willow is a couple of half cylinders decorated with elephant or dino tails for the branches, coupled with technic parts. You could probably increase the height using the Hobbit parts underneath the cylinders but it would look better if you kept the height the same and just got more technic connectors and elephant tails to add more branches. A bit more greenery (leaves, stems, etc) up top might look better too, so long as you can still wedge the car up there.
  7. Yes, all very true. Maybe an alternative is just to highlight MOCs randomly. If the point of doing it is to get people looking at MOCs, at least it will do that, whether they are good or less good.
  8. I doubt there will ever be a complete Hogwarts, not at minifigure scale. And if there was, it would be considerably more than £500. Even at the scale of the Great Hall, a complete Hogwarts would be significantly more than £500. LEGO doesn't force people to buy anything, customers can buy the sets they like. For some, the hall will be enough (both in size and cost), for others, they will want more. Some people will buy everything, no matter what it is.
  9. Definitely there, for example ...
  10. Meaning life goes on perfectly well if you don't watch it, but the BBC won't shut up about it for weeks?
  11. Is this a Han's coat is blue / brown type problem? It depends on the lighting and perception. Olive green would have been nice. But I'm just glad it is not the normal green.
  12. I guess that depends on how many Voldemorts we get. :-)
  13. The answer is simple. They just include him in that set too. Popular / important characters appear again and again in sets. For example, out of the 12 boxed retail sets for LOTR, the same Gimli minifigure appeared in four of them, Aragorn in three with another variant in a fourth. Prepare yourself for a lot of Harrys.
  14. These are leaks. Figures put together from new parts and photographed by the leaker. Leaks often miss off pieces like capes. How do you know it is not the one with the curved back? Like the Moloch / Barriss Offee ones in SW.
  15. You might pay £600 for Diagon Alley, but I doubt many would. I cannot see a casual HP fan spending £600 on such a set when there are already going to be many other smaller sets plus presumably Hogwarts. And I cannot see parents spending £600 on it for kids either.
  16. Diagon Alley doesn't need to be done to modular standards. If they make it $600 they won't sell many at all. These need to be playsets - essentially facades of doll houses with little depth so fingers can get inside easily. They could release a set similar to the last Diagon Alley for less than half the cost of three modulars. There would be just as much playability (if not more) than three modulars. If AFOLs want modular standards, they could easily take the facades and convert them into full buildings.
  17. Exactly, she could go with many characters if they wanted to get her in somehow. Others could be Sprout, a suit of armour, ... Will there be new threads to discuss the actual sets? Now this one has become mainly a list of wishlists, rather than rumours.
  18. Why? There are no such rules in the CMF series. They could easily put Mrs Norris in the CMF series without duplicating Filch. They'd never do, for example, Buzz without Woody, would they ...?
  19. By fact, do you mean you assume? In the past, certain figures were predicted to be coming in other themes (LOTR especially) and never appeared.
  20. So they can just put them in regular sets and get sales all year round. No need for a Christmas set. They have to be careful not to over-saturate the market with minifigures. If this line is going to last multiple years, they need to keep things back or there will be complaints later on about repetition. As it is, key characters will have to be in every set, or it won't sell to the general public (as opposed to people collecting the whle range). Notice which one I didn't include! :-)
  21. That has been the point of them, they are meant to be out of the ordinary. They take something that isn't Christmassy and give you something that is ... Whereas this year they seem to have stopped doing the Christmas tradition, and there appears little in the calendar that is Christmassy.
  22. They are a retailer exclusive in the UK (tesco) so they will probably get away with charging a little more since there is no competition.
  23. They have already announced the 2018 ones. They could of course do a 2019 one but the key would be to make enough small builds that are meaningful for HP. They need about 18 interesting builds that are not minfiigures. They could take inspiration from here: And do the Quidditch pitch over 6 days and another 2 days for the train. Also bear in mind that the SW one this year is rather un-Christmassy when it comes to minifigures. They look like just be regular set figures. And with the HP CMF series as well, there will probably be enough variants of figures as it is.
  24. I imagine it was designed with both characters in mind, it is generic enough.
