  1. What do you want them to do / look like once modified? They are harder to dye (RIT dye method) than regular parts, I think the composition is different to normal parts to make the thin sections strong enough not to break.
  2. The already have Alexandre Boudon. I don't think lack of design talent is a problem.
  3. Unikitty blind bags are already out now, so I doubt they will have any effect on the Harry Potter CMFs. In the UK, they are specific to one particular retailer anyway (tesco) so it is highly unlikely that they will delay HP CMFs.
  4. No. You only get points on the part paid for by money. Kids won't be at school in August. I cannot see these being difficult to get. They might sell out briefly in stores, but they will be available for months and months. Also LEGO tends not to have that good promotions on release day. They don't need to. People that want whatever so desperately on day 1 need no incentive to buy, so they aren't given one. WHereas those that wait a bit longer will need tempting to buy. If I see the ones I want in Sainsburys or Tescos or Argos, or ASDA then I'll wait, as I know I'll get 30% off. And I can wait to build them.
  5. This is one of the problems with Eurobricks. Snobbery. People thinking that they are the real (or true, or best, or whatever other words you want to use) AFOLs, and that if others aren't exactly like them, then they are not part of the real AFOL club. What makes a MOC builder any more an AFOL than someone that only collects and builds retail sets? Clearly, they are more of a MOCcer, but then they are also a worse LEGO collector. And vice versa for the collector. They are both AFOLs though. As to tags, I see them but they mean next to nothing to me. Maybe if they were linked when you clicked on them to a list to say what they mean, then there might be some further point to them. For example, on Jim's above, I see an R in a bottle cap - no idea. A technic gear - so presumably something to do with technic, although it is a bit redunant as I know that from "technic admin". A black thing with a red square - no idea. A lightsaber - so presumably something to do with SW. And a NL flag - I can see he is from NL anyway from just above it. Maybe they are the sort of badges that you are meant to wear with pride because other people don't know what they mean?
  6. You can do much better than VIP points if you are willing to wait. They regularly have offers of free polybags or exclusive promotional sets for spends above a certain threshold. If you plan and buy what you need to just cross the threshold, you'll maximise benefits. Whereas if the sets appear in supermarkets, you'll be able to get 30% or so off at some stage (this is UK specific). That is if you are willing to wait maybe 3-4 months. It all depends whether you must have them on day 1 or not.
  7. If buying from LEGO, spread them out to make the most of promotions. If supermarkets, wait for discounts.
  8. My battle pack ones have all had the logo on the neck. I'd confront the seller, if they described them as LEGO.
  9. In that case, they probably shouldn't go here at all. I don't think anyone really cares about hauls or what I got type videos. If there is some brick animation type stuff in the videos, then have a single thread in the "flicks" section. Collectable MiniFigure.
  10. If you search for "inside tour", you will find quite there is already lot a bit of information on both the inside tour and other ways of visiting interesting areas of Billund.
  11. They should be exactly the same length, as 10 studs/bricks wide = 10x20 = 200 LDUs and 25 plates high = 8x25 = 200 LDUs. However, you do need to make sure that you full squeeze the plates together for this to work. Are the tops of the plates all clean, as dirt can hold them apart.
  12. Alternatively, they have seen the picture on the internet, they know TRU is still active in Asia and so they have assumed it. That's the problem with internet journalism. If it is on a website, it must be fact. It may well turn out to be true, but it is still likely an assumption as they have provided no evidence.
  13. Don't they assume it, rather than confirm it.
  14. Presumably they haven't been sent out yet. And LEGO did an "internal recall" and repackaged sets last year due to the wrong colour grey being packaged ... http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2017/08/lego-recalled-120000-sets-because-someone-used-the-wrong-shade-of-grey/ So changing the packaging or repackaging the minifigures isn't such a big stretch.
  15. It wouldn't surprise me if they either redesign the packaging to remove the TRU logo and make them available for sale (or promotion) elsewhere, or trash the set completely and the figures resurface in polybags or other promotional items.
  16. Yep, definitely normal eyes in Series 2 CMF. 1. I hope not. I don't really see the need for her. But if she is, then I hope she is a rarer chase figure. 2. Being in the bricktober set doesn't necessarily rule her out of being in the CMF or normal sets, maybe with a different print.
  17. Yeah, don't destroy the centaurs. They are $4 a piece for new printed ones. You can still get this one, in the Destrider (Guardian) accessory pack: https://www.brickforge.com/-Centaur-Destrider-081318.html
  18. Depends what you are willing to pay. For a budget option, you can stick a 3mm LED into a technic brick hole and they fit perfectly. Bend the wires behind, wire wrap and heat shrink them to a resistor and connect in parallel. You'll need a resistor for each LED. For a 5V power bank, you might get away with 2 LEDs in each parallel section in a mixed series/parallel circuit depending on their colour / forward voltage.
  19. I had already mentioned that on the last page as a play feature.
  20. There are obviously play features like the banner on the Gryffindor tower that can swing / be crashed into. But I don't think they are junior-ised in any way.
  21. Remember from past tie-in CMF series (TLM, LTNM, LTBM, etc), that the figures included do not always complement sets. They can stick any old figures they like in the CMF series, whether there is a natural set for them to be affiliated with or not. Get a money box and save up.
  22. Then he would have looked odd, as he would be missing the breeches completely.
  23. If quality is important, then buy new or ask sellers about the parts you are interested in. For prices, research. As you are in Aus, you're are likely to pay a lot for postage unless you buy from Aussie sellers. So search for prices in Aus only to check what the premium for national purchases is.
  24. Completely unlikely. These are press images, and they were probably sent out weeks/days ago under embargo.
  25. It looks fine to me, they have finished off the undercoat neatly so they don't need multiple colour prints on the hips and legs. I prefer the shorter version, as it means you don't have the black lines running across it where they don't print all the way to the edges and if you pose legs it still works. The removal of the white shirt edit would have been better. So you'd prefer either more obscure characters in the sets (bad for sales) or doubles of the common characters (in sets and CMFs)?
