  1. After the BrickWorld Princess Train, Lego probably knew whatever was in the pipes was never going to compete.
  2. I like the HE and it was my first Lego train. I think the integration of the PowerFunctions could have been better with the use of two PF train motors instead of just one because on a short layout, just one motor struggles with the length of a full train (two HE sets put together.) But if this is to be a child friendly set, then one motor works best because the train can be a handful the way I have it setup.
  3. Very nice work. This would work on a modern or historic layout equally as well. Great job.
  4. Very nice work on the locomotive and the Metroliner passenger car. I was tempted to build some Metroliner cars when I built my tinder for the Space Train MOC when I noticed how the baby bows in my prototype were very close to the shape of the Amtrak passenger cars. The thing that stopped me was the weight of my build for the space train and the fact that I had issues with the weight breaking the connectors on my train. Once I get that issue fixed, I will wait to build more cars in that style.
  5. And I am more of an American diesel fan, but what I would like to see in the Creator series would be a new highly detailed Crocodile. My dream Lego train set.... I would like to see an American Pennsylvania GG1 that was run by the PRR until its demise, the PennCentral until its demise, and then ConRail and Amtrak until the locomitives were retired 50 years later, but I think Nate Brill's model has too many "illegal" 1980's style connections to make it look like the real thing for it to be possible for that to make a proper Lego set.
  6. Very, very nice build. The styling is really nice and would fit into any layout on either side of the pond. Great Job!
  7. Very nice work. This is much better than the push rod to separate trains that I have seen on a few displays.
  8. Nice work. I have been tempted to try my luck at a set of trucks like this on a few of my builds.
  9. Beautiful work.
  10. Lot's of beautiful details! Great work!
  11. Thank you for the amazing amounts of inspiration! I see a bunch of MOCs in my future.
  12. Very nice MOC. Good job with the the details esp. with the tank cars.
  13. Sweet work. I have been waiting for this since I first saw the early images of the set.
  14. Very nice work. It gives me lots of inspiration to work on my train yard for the moon base.
  15. With the latest train win at BrickWorld being the "Princess Train" and Philly BrickFest train winner being the "Ghost Train," theme trains are certainly getting a lot of respect at AFOL events this year in the United States. This has me thinking about expanding both of my theme train layouts for the years down the road.
  16. Very nice work. The GP9 works well as a 4 wide MOC.
  17. I agree!
  18. The green parts are going to be a welcome site for those that are in need of landscaping pieces. As for me, I can never have enough 2X2 plates, 1x2/2X2 slopes. The curved back will be nice for landscaping as well.
  19. Large wheels on a PF train motor is fast indeed, but the torque disadvantage means you get a very short run time when trying to pull heavy train cars due to the overload circuit popping after 5-15 minutes of runtime. But building heavy trains is an issue that I developed by following the style of PennLUG train builders and not those of Lego set designers.
  20. I hope this MOC draws a lot of bids. It looks like a fabulous piece that will deserve the bids.
  21. It is a shame that I will not be able to make this event this summer. I wonder what it would take for Cale to do an encore performance of his presentations after Brickworld for those of us that are not fortunate enough to make it??? We have an AFOL night event coming up in July in southeastern PA at a venue that has a large screen and a projector...... Hmmmm........ Time to post on another message board and see what happens.
  22. Very nice work. This type of container can be used for a multitude of themes from traditional cities to even sci-fi. Great Job!
  23. Sorry I missed this thread earlier, but this is a very nice, creative train built around the friends theme. Nice use of the dolphins and I like the fence pieces for the grilles in the locomotive. Great Work!
