  1. The tailgate on pickup beds has the pivot on the bottom of the tailgate. So it's correct.
  2. Not really... The size difference would be negligeble and the complexity increase would be minimal.
  3. The sets of the recent past seem to be very poorly designed in general. If i was to design a pickup, i'd use the unimog wheels and make the truck more look like a ford F350 or chevy silverado. It's also have a 4 link live axle rear suspension and awd. But that's me.
  4. Nice parts donor, shit model. For what it is it also uses way too many parts.
  5. efferman: the mk2 version will be. Expect it this weekend. Once i know the position of all elements i'l also try to minimise the use of material, like it is done in the lego elements. (no liftarm or connector is actually "full" but has as many intendations/slots as possible to keep material usage to a minimum while still retaining the necessary strength.
  6. They still use too much material. Look at how lego saves material on every part and replicate that.
  7. Hm... true. :( The 8110 rims are such a failure.
  8. I still think you should just take the stock turntable piece and not make your own. That extra hole can be done with liftarms/connectors.
  9. Pictures would be very helpfull, so we could pinpoint the problem.
  10. The price with 3d printing is dependent on material used, not complexity. Make it use as little material as possible.
  11. No, this wouldn't have kingpin. Not by default.
  12. Ah, yeah. I completly forgot about that half stud. :(
  13. You use the 2 holes on the stock turntable and a small cv joint.
  14. No need for a new part. You can get that hole with existing parts. There's enough room for it.
  15. We do not need that extra ear on the turntable.
  16. But this would mean that you can only use 8 tooth gears, wouldn't it?
  17. Its a standard turntable rotor (dark bluish gray), with a new hub attached, that rotates just as the other turntable half with the teeth (black) would.
  18. The extra holes are not needed. The normal turntable plate is good as it is. What we do need to see is the inside of the hub.
  19. I have ideas how to make macphersons (there's even a video on my youtube). I need to get my hands on some of those adjustable motorbike springs to see how those can be used. I plan to use them in the e-coupe.
  20. Currently the mods are in my head only. The main issue is having only 1 axle hole as attachment on every side. Perfect to attach connectors for multilink setups, but not so good for attaching a macpherson strut, since i think it'll be too weak. Another requirement is, that the hub must be symetrical.
  21. You're complicating. Ball joints on a hub are wrong and instantly limit the use of the part. There's also nothing wrong with a part that can be used only as a hub (see the small 42000 hubs or the unimog portal hubs). If we're doing this, we make a hub that can be used in all future super cars for decades to come. Every supercar can employ a different suspension type, but with the same hub. The instant you put ball joints on the hub, you limit it to a double wishbone setup with fixed vertical kingpin (like on 8880 and all other lego hubs). And don't forget that one can make a much better F1 car or any other racing car with this (yes, i have ideas) :P
