The LPEpower i3 would be powerfull enough. It does over 2000 rpms and does not flex or bend.

Use leaf springs made out of 2 8x1 plates, like i do. They are pretty soft and are perfect. -

They'd be kind of pointless if they're not flexible. -

It's really not suprising at all. Leaf spring suspensions are cheap to make. -

And then the whole setup would fit inside the rim. At that point you can just take the unimog portal hubs. -

That is very very weak. That red 2 stud connector... you want the liftarms to be at the wheel. Otherwise it'll all bend like chewing gum. In all directions. -

Why don't you like plate leaf springs? They offer enough flex. I found all my leaf sprung cars to be quite soft. -

I love how you correctly angled the upper wishbones for some anti dive geometry. :) -

Well, draw a line rhrough both pivot points. And draw one on them in the pic of the mustang suspension. It's not the same. Also, the mustang main suspension arm and the rod going forward are bolted together, without a pivot point. The front rubber bushing acts just as a buffer for road shocks. The main suspension arm does not change position like in your pics. -
Ford Fiesta WRC
nicjasno replied to piterx's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Piterx: We should try to make a small fiesta wrc, where the battery box forms the main part of the chassis and the front and rear suspension "bolt" to the battery box. The rear would be a solid axle of course and front suspension would use the new 5l suspension arms. And of course it'd use smaller wheels. The servo motor could also form part of the front suspension, with the suspension bridge mounting to the stud holes of the servo. -

You mean the 2005-2013 mustang. Because the 2014 stang (or 2015 model year) now has multilink lower suspension arms. -

nicjasno replied to VKTechnic's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Not at all. the 2 arms are bolted together rigidly, forming one piece, like in modern cars. Modern cars have rubber bumps designed into the suspension aswell to absorb road shocks, like driving into a pothole or climbing onto a curb. -
