yes but all that friction is gonna waste too much power :) -

Drifting chassis
piterx replied to piterx's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
nah the body will be quite light :) i don't think it's gonna be heavier than 300g yeah i made one with 43 tyres some weeks ago but i wanted to add something new such as the macpherson strut and the lockable differential....and mainly i like building bodies too :D so i use to scale my models to panels more than wheels this car has perfect proportions for wheels size and panels "it's dangerous for parts" oh yeah it is...this chassis dismounted itself 2 or 3 times due to crashes caused by my noobness at driving rc cars i guess i need to practice a little bit before shooting the video your car was one of the reasons why i spent 90€ to get these two brand new motors lol yesterday i've tried to add rear suspensions...then i just gave up mainly because of the two differentials that take too much space....and i didnt want to get rid of them because they're really useful ^^ -
Hi everyone :) As someone of you saw in my other topic, about the LEGO buggy weight, i'm working at my new rally car. It's made to drift and perform some nice stuff such as a gymkhana :P Here's the chassis for now... :) It has 2RC motors that DRAIN energy like a vampire from two lipo batteries and low them after 20-30 minutes play XD As every motor is powered by a battery, i've used a differential inbetween the two motors, to compensate lack of power.... and it works great to protect motors from being damaged. There's another differential that can be locked to achieve narrower drifts Out of performances, the part that makes me really happy of this chassis is the macpherson suspension in the front axle and mainly the short travel suspension :) once i'll finish the car i'll post pictures of all the details hope you like it

oh i see what you've done wrong! the ball joint that connects to the wishbone has to be in the other direction! the smooth part has to face the disc :) -
buggy 8475 weight
piterx replied to piterx's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
no it doesnt...at least in the way i mounted it :P or at least till you dont put it on the ground...then it works fine :P yeah but it's gonna have a wrc look but it's a famous car :P and it's famous for its tricks and drifts eheh try to guess what car it is -

buggy 8475 weight
piterx replied to piterx's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
yes sir :) probably it's better if you use the 5.5 stud axle to connect the weel so the axle can fill the rim and you can keep the disc :) it's something that i made to the other wheel -
buggy 8475 weight
piterx replied to piterx's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
here it is :P but to get the right angle there are also other important thing such as the links that connect it to the steering rack...ill post everything once i post the car -
buggy 8475 weight
piterx replied to piterx's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
yeah :)...it's gonna have also a differential lock activable by hand so it gets easier drifting it's powered by two rc motors the nice thing about the macpherson structure is that the car turns really nicely -
buggy 8475 weight
piterx replied to piterx's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
i was thinking about not revealing anything but how can i say "no"? the chassis is not going to be orange anyway lol and obviusly it's gonna have 4 wheels lol....this is just a picture of the front axle i've tried to make the macpherson suspension and i can say that i did it :P the springs i used are custom but they have the same dimensions of the lego ones...i just didnt want to dismount them :P but i'll explain everything in the car's topic once released -

buggy 8475 weight
piterx replied to piterx's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
yeah! i'd like to know wich one is the maximum weight (according to lego) that rc motors can tolerate :P i'm trying to build something fast but nice too see as well just for some hype: i've built a new suspension type with a short travel wich i think you will like very much oh cool thanks! so i should stay under 800g :) -

piterx replied to piterx's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
yeah that's exactly what im doing ^.^ i will make a video to explain it and i'll share the file :) even because that gearbox has a nice solution to hold the axle for the steering rack -

ok, after soo many weeks i've decided to give up making the instructions. this happends for some reasons: - time - im building other things - i have no idea on how to make the flexible axles - it's extremely boring i apologize for promising something that i wasn't able to provide
