Small 4x4 off roader
piterx replied to piterx's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
i don't think it would cost more than 30-40 euros without motors, considering the shop is buying pieces and have to gain something on sells while lego can produce pieces lol -

no man, no gearbox...i could actually add a gearbox if i remove seats but then it would look ugly :P -

yeah i think i could make really lot of attachments to it! unfortunately portal axles can't be added easily,..it would involve some major changings at the moment im trying to convert it into a red and white rock crawler with motorized winch :P let's see if i can do it! yeah those are the new wheels! i actually don't know what scale it is...but compared to the blueprint is proportioned ahah -

turned it into a Dakar race vehicle without modifying any part...i just added what i needed to add :P sometimes front wheels can touch the door's attachment but it only happens when steering...if i modified consistently the chassis to lift it it wouldn't happen. hope you'll like it :) this is about the maximum angle of climb before it rolls on the back lol -

oh yeah that's a great idea man! i'll see what i can do :) yeah man there's really a lot of space to upgrade it...im thinking about adding bullbar and rollbar for the lifted version (actually im not lifting it just because im lazy...i will only add the balloon tires xD)... i know the instruction thing...that's why i think im gonna probably make a deal with the shop so i can sell the instructions for not more than 5€ and they can sell the parts with instructions all together :) if you make a review for this one i would be really happy :D but i need to present it in the best way i can first to make it attractive :P...the next week im gonna shoot the video for it and it needs to be different....probably im gonna make it just like it's a car commercial lol give me a couple of hours to see what i can do for the pimpin xD -

thank you guys :) yeah i started from vitara so Egor won lol actually there's enough space to fit the balloon wheels but yeah, if i lift everything up it would be nicer... i think i will make something like that then in the next hours :) the only thing im worried about is the price of a model like this.. without electrical parts it wouldnt probably cost more than 30euros but 2 L motors, a servo, an IRv2, battery box (for economy it won't be the lipo one) and IR controller cost a lot :\ i really don't know what to do lol on the other hand i could just make it without power functions for the shop so it's affordable and do like lego used to do back in the days: give instructions to motorize it the only problem is that it would be a vehicle to push around so it would need fake cylindrs that i dont know where to place ahah...need to figure it out... -
Hi guys! I'd start saying this thread is more to ask you some suggestions than to show you the model itself :P I think i already told you that the shop wich is sponsoring me http://www.mangiobricks.com asked me to build something that they can sell as a custom model right? At first, they wanted the fiat panda i made last year but i wasn't satisfied by it due to its untidyness... so i made something that i think it's better and wich performs better than every expectations i had As it's made to be sold (hopefully) i couldn't call it with the real counterpart name....but i think it should be quite clear where i took inspiration from :P it's really simple and it's made trying to use the less amount of pieces possible to keep everything clean and tidy performances are really good, even if the most of the weight is in the back of it, it crawls really good having some nice ground clearance and good speed as well! i don't know how many of you could be interested in buying something like this as many of you are great reverse engineers :P but let's say you have the chance to buy a custom model, how would you prefer it? i mean, do you think i should make it with motors or just ready to be motorized? what else could i change to make it more attractive? should i add more functions or just stay on "less is more" concept? ill wait for your suggestions guys! in the meanwhile have a look at some pictures of it! hope you'll like it :)

MOC Sharing Dilemma
piterx replied to Cumulonimbus's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
sharing solutions is always the best way to improve designs... you might find a good solution but someone can improve it and make it better :) despite of what i just said, sometimes you get disappointed by the ungratefulness of people, you get something like 1500 views and only 10 comments, meaning that probably 500 users may take inspiration from your moc without not even telling you "well done mate, this can be useful" i share my stuff for the 10 users that add a comment to my threads just because they deserve it :) all the rest are ungrateful :P -

[HELP] Legal Building Technique
piterx replied to Kumbbl's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
that's not legal or illegal...that's just a good idea of using a piece in a way it wasn't meant to be! -

Mitsubishi Pajero Pinin
piterx replied to piterx's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
i'm working at the ldraw file of the gearbox so i can share it with you! so this part is the shifting mechanism that converts the 90° rotation of the servo motor into a 1 stud movement you just need to add a rubber band on the two spherical pins :) stay tuned for the rest of it! -

if you want i can take pictures while dismounting the gearbox or other parts separately such as braking system the only thing is that the gearbox isn't perfect as i stated before, but hell yeah, it's a good start! so i'll surely make instructions for the gearbox :) -

Mitsubishi Pajero Pinin
piterx replied to piterx's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
thank you very much guys :) i can make instructions for the gearbox if you want but it's not perfect yet...i mean, it's a really good start but it's not perfect.... good things are: it doesn't have too much friction the shifting mechanism is really precise even if it can be improved 1-2-3 gear are nicely progressive bad things: as it's un-synchronized, 4th gear is really hard to engage, mainly because that gear spins faster than the 3rd and the selector can't shift smoothly between one and the other. there's something wrong with the R gear wich shows the weakness of the gearbox dismounting it when too much torque is applied, a transverse beam would solve that thing btw today i'll take the body apart so i can take some pictures of the chassis :) i'll post them later! -
Hey guys! Some of you have already seen the WIP thread, so here's the video and proper pictures of my latest moc! Mitsubishi Pajero Pinin This is the car I own in real life so i always thought about building it out of legos :D It's been quite a long way to get it complete but I finally made it! Features: - 4x4 - 4+N+R sequential gearbox - Auto clutch - Braking system - Mac pherson strut - Rear live axle - Brake lights - Front lights - Openable doors, hood and bonnet - Working steering wheel Here's a video of it The model works good except for the 4th gear wich is hard to engage as the gearbox is un-synchronized...on the other side the braking system works great! I actually didn't expected it to be so powerful, it can stop the model in a small space even if it's travelling fast. I hope you'll like it :)
