Something like this would be interesting. Maybe our kids kids will be using them.

Caltex Service Station (Servo Showdown Entry)
Aussie BJ replied to lightningtiger's topic in LEGO Town
Still looks 32 x 32 to me. Nice addition LT! I forgot all about installing underground fuel tanks so no real point adding vents now -
Wow this looks great. All the details are there from all the women queuing for the loo down to the sniffer dogs. Plus lots lots more really well done Fonzy thanks for sharing. I'd hate to see what you would do if you got a um 'Plumber' CMF.

Now that would be something unique. I came across some futuristic 'electric servo's' in my search for inspiration in this contest and thought about giving them ago but they would take to long to build so I can see your Delmar. Nice thought though!
-
Ah ha! so a 2 day build, that's going to be challenging for you..... whats the really great idea? promise I won't tell anyone.... Ah yes that was a nice little (well large) servo! Cant you just, I don't know cut the back of it off? or just submit it. No one will notice it's got a bit of overhang.

Anyone planning a last minute ambush in this showdown then?

So much eye candy my head is hurting Zed_43 you've created an amazing display which could double as an official set (but probably minus a few of the extremely well built accessories) I just don't know what to comment on, from the paper towel rolls to the moving car wash but then that air compressor that's fantastic. Then that motorbike is a sure attention getter! The only thing that stands out to me are the studs on the awning, but that's nothing. A great entry and first post Zed_43 well done! PS Photo's are also well done with clear backgrounds and crystal clear photo's.

Ah me we Scottish combatant, Not only will we bring it, we'll put Vegemite on it. Unfortunately yes I have a day job which interrupts my Lego building time, but I have to pay for new sets some how. My son has kicked me out of his room every night for the past few weeks because he wanted to go to bed. Thinking about extending the house to have a Lego room, I mean sewing room for my wife.

Many thanks for all positive comments guys and gals. Seems the angled roof is a real hit. If anyone is trying it out for themselves you have to use the snap positioning joining hinges (not sure of correct name) not just the joining hinges. I learnt this the hard way when one bump would screw the roof in the opposite direction before crashing into the roof of the shop front.

Really good concept doing a corner store which has allowed you to fit heaps in well done.

Anyone building an interior like this one....?

Thanks for the comments. I never intended having lights but my son was mucking around with them and he put it under the roof and we both said that's cool so we added them. Many thanks for the comment and for noticing my story Bee and Pea just sort of started with that first picture and I went with it. Who knows what they'll get up to next Picture below of my original inspiration servo. It was the first 'different' one I found when Googling and I kept coming back to it, so hence my MOC. I'm liking the truck area in the background too. maybe my next MOC.

Love those large fences what set are to off? I've never seen them before. Also like the fresh tar on the driveway, who did you contract for that? Boral I guess they usually do a good job. ;-)

Nice clone would be good for the stickers. Try this link http://www.bcarch.net/projects/retail/bp sorry not sure how to embed the link from iPhone. Or google 'new bp service centre' I think it's in Melbourne but could be wrong.

Hi LT, it's based on a real design of those Highway Super Service Centres just scaled down to suit 32 x 32. Bowsers are a combination of both imagination and real world. I'll post a photo of it when I get a chance.

Really nice looking set you've built there. And very impressive tail lift. I've been wanting to design one of these myself for a race car transporter so I may have to use this when the time comes. Thanks for sharing and that's a lot of soda for a little pizzeria shop.

I was impressed at the look of the exterior so you can imagine my face when I saw the interior Awesome colors and spot on details. Well Done!

Thank you everyone for your positive comments. I'm so rapped you like the roof design I wasn't to sure. Surprisingly it's very sturdy too even when my 8 yo pushes the buttons for the lights. I thought about squeezing a shop in but it just wouldn't look right. Once the contest is over I'll add the second and third module's which will give me plenty of room to play. Thanks again everyone Brendan

My Entry into the Servo Challenge. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=80594 Brendan

Hi All This is my entry into the Servo Showdown. It's my take on a modern servo with all the mod con's. Only used what I had on hand which meant a few of my sons City sets have lots of missing parts but he loves playing with the servo so he's happy. Hopefully there's enough detail as this is my first ever entry into a contest and my first Topic in the Town forum. Front view with our maintenance man Bob topping up with some BP Ultimate and the employee's Bee & Pea taking a well earned coffee break. Side view with Bob taking care of the cleaning whilst employee Bee looks after Bob's dirty window. Close up of the front and side view. Employee Pea looks after the gardening with his new retractable garden hose Bowser view with employee Bee who is always happy to wash your windows free of charge of course. Car View with maintenance man Bob cleaning up before the big week ahead. Back view. No shop as such as this will be a module construction with the shop and goodies being included in the next module. Pea is mucking around with the door better watch he doesn't get trapped. Night time view. Lights just for those midnight snack runs to the BP. Bee & Pea enjoying a quite coffee. Overall of everything and Bob couldn't find his drill so had to pull everything out of the work van and trailer. Little did he realize it was clipped to his tool belt. Lots more pictures can be found here. My BP Servo I hope you like my entry. Brendan
