  1. Except for D2C Exclusives, of course. Also we don't know whether the Samurai X Cave or the Airjitzu Temple Grounds are the exclusive set of this wave. It's just been assumed that that the Temple Grounds were, due to the sound of the X Cave being a flagship set (which typically aren't store exclusives).
  2. You said this, which doesn't say anything about the Book of Monsters at all: Who says that the greatest evil-magic user ever can't be turned into a book by another good-hearted wizard?
  3. It's assumed to be the Samurai X Cave. Although the Airjitzu Temple grounds haven't been revealed either. On that note, we don't know if either of these will be store exclusives. And even then, the Airjitzu Temple Grounds could be the $120. At this point, we really don't know for sure. It does sound like our chances to see that $120 set at the NY Toy Fair are pretty good, which is all I could ask for.
  4. When 2017 comes around and none of these monsters show up... I really, really would not get my hopes up for any of these guys, but would love to see them happen nonetheless. On the subject of Monstrox. Clearly he's a lava monster. Perhaps he's the sarlacc-like thing in the Volcano Lair.
  5. Just a rule of thumb when it comes to Toys 2 Life games.* If there is no announcement of expansions/new game by mid-April, fans will have to wait until June for E3 (Electronics Entertainment Expo). That's when Lego really started to go heavy promoting Lego Dimensions last year. I'd expect big news then, if not just a couple weeks before. *(This does not apply to Amiibo as no one series of characters are for just one game).
  6. New York Toy Fair is on the 13th. At Lodon, there apparently weren't that many minifigs on display for Ninjago, whereas Nuremberg had the entire lineup (including Kozu, Wu, Lloyd, Robed Pythor, and Cryptor). All of them are from an unknown set that, as of yet, has not appeared. Whether that set is the Samurai X Cave or the Temple grounds remains to be seen as one (or both) could very well be store exclusives.
  7. This more or less explains what I was trying to say. I'm under the impression that it will be more of a mix though. Sure he's similar to Nya, but he may just take up the "Lloyd" mantle anyway.
  8. The first season had progression issues as well. It wasn't until the latter half of the season (which was shorter, mind you) that things really started to pick up. Now with a longer season and having returned from a mid-season break, things are slowly starting to pick up again. It's definitely more exciting than the first season though.
  9. It depends on if the show will actually effect the show. It might be a separate canon. It could be completely canon. Only time will tell. Also seeing as the movie is getting a fall release, I can see Lego starting up the show again the following Summer, so that the movie gets a sufficient amount of time on shelves.
  10. The Seige Machine of Doom is packaged in the same size box most $50 sets are packaged in (Hydra Fortress Smash, Desert Outpost). It's just on its side in a similar fashion to Laval's Fire Lion. The Tower Carrier is also in the same size box as the Ninja DB X which was $80 (as well as Tiger's Mobile Command & Ultracopter vs. Anti-matter).
  11. It is. I got mine yesterday. Apparently they are being given away when kids ask a question about Nexo Knights. I saw it behind the counter, asked them about it, and they just gave it to me. Not all Lego Stores are run the same though, so you might not get the same result.
  12. I think it's really smart that Lego licensed Ninjago. Much like Star Wars or Super Heroes (as examples) the main drive for most of these sets is purely the minifigs. By licensing the product they make more money by forcing you to buy the product, rather than ordering just the minifigs. Of course this promotes the shenanigans you find in Star Wars where desirable main characters are typically only in sets that are $50 or more. It would be a shame if we start seeing that more frequently in Ninjago.
  13. Please take note that having a TV show does not mean that that Lego theme is licensed. In fact, Bionicle, the Lego Movie, and Ninjago might just be the only three licensed themes that aren't sourced from outside companies in the past 17 years of licensed Lego product. Galidor was a joint effort with Lego and Fox. Mixels are a joint effort with Lego and Cartoon Network. Neither were/are protected by license by either party. They were simply co-created, and marketed with each co-creator's budget.
  14. Depends on the set size. I keep a good eye at some of my local stores, and it's clear to me that only the sets kids can afford do well. I've seen the same Nether Fortresses sitting at my local Lego store for nearly a month now (assuming, because they're getting dusty). I'm now even more curious in the regards of sales now, especially since Lego is giving it a D2C set.
  15. Comparing it to similarly sized (box-wise) sets, $15 and $30. Going by box size, $50. I wouldn't be too surprised if this happened. Especially with how the Winter/Spring Star Wars sets were handled. I'd love to get my hands on that lighthouse early!
  16. I kind wish it was an April Fools joke... Although I love what Lego Minecraft has done, I can't help but think that a D2C set is overkill. It's basically going to be a giant Classic set with one set of instructions, and no children that could possibly afford it. I will reserve any opinion on the set beforehand, as it may just turn out to be spectacular. I guess part of me just wishes the set would go to some other theme. Also, I have to ask j2g, do you know of any other exclusives that are on their way (could you share)?
  17. If I may: -Chima: Yes. It's no longer relevant and next to no other characters matter. -BTTF: Yes. As cools as it would be to have more from this license, we have our main characters/vehicles. Any others wouldn't be as eye-catching -LOTR: No/Yes. We need villain packs, Lego, and we need them ASAP, but most of the more active characters in the story have been made into packs aside from, say Boromir and Aragorn. There is very little aside from that (except the villains). -Portal: Yes. As fun as an Atlas and Peabody set would be would be, would they be considered minifigs themselves? Or would they be considered builds (no other minifigs could really accompany them, though). -Jurassic World: Yes. A dinosaur, a vehicle and Owen are all kids would need from that series. Now if the series would move into Jurassic Park sets... -Dr. Who: Yes. As fun as it would be to have more characters from that series, there is only so much that could be done in the regards to vehicles and gadgets. -Wizard of Oz: No. The five main characters are absolutely necessary, and why Lego hasn't spoken a word on it is crazy. It's just a matter of what builds would accompany them -Scooby Doo: Yes. Iconic vehicle and characters are all that would sell. Secondary characters would be fun, but wouldn't sell as good without either Scooby or Shaggy included. -Simpsons: Yes. Out of the main/iconic characters, all who should be available are available. Would you really want to play as Marge or Mr. Burns? Builds that would coincide with them is also an issue. -Midway Arcade: No/Yes. There are several characters, as well as Arcade Cabinets that would do well. However, what will be available is all that's really necessary. Regarding future themes, I really hope that we get more information on what will be arriving in the future soon. Waiting until E3 would be too far of a wait.
  18. Which people did. Lots of them. The dragon was as pointless as recording it off the TV instead of being patient enough to upload it, at least, in standard definition. It's not like someone was going to upload it "first" beforehand. Loved this last episode.
  19. Thoughts on the new minifigs: Frakjaw has a new face. Cole and Jay have new faces. 2011+2012 robes look great. Sensei Yang looks great. Black and red Kozu though. Wu is wearing his original Gi. The Anacondrai is Eyezor. Cool. Cryptor looks unchanged, but I find that okay. He was perfect to begin with. I thought Soto's feather was deliberately crooked. Hope he comes with a hook. Looking at Krazi, I really hope that one of the Skullkin generals will be leading them in whichever set the exclusive is. A bit disappointed that the police officer is a generic one from earlier City sets. Robed Pythor is great. The Stone Warrior prisoner looks good with the silver. Echo Zane and Gizmo are great. Love the colors. Ronin's new armor is good too. I just wish that they would dual mold his hat and hair together.
  20. On the hoods the Ninja use in the Possesion sets (as an example), the black part of the hood is formed first, with the color "dual molded" over it. The original Ninja hood is a single mold.
  21. When this Castle was folded in or open it had dimensions larger than the Lion Chi Temple (the largest surface area a castle has covered in the past 4 years). The only Castle that beat Vladek's Dark Fortress in height was this one.
