There's a bit more to that though. The actual character was originally written as a high schooler. Having Spiderman take place in that setting makes since as it has been a part of the story (for several iterations of the character) all along. Rebooting something into a movie format into a High-School setting for the sake of an 8-to-12-year-old audience, when the original source material never even considered that, is one of the most common TV show to movie reboot cliches of the past decade. It's dangerously stale.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Video Game Discussion
PenPlays replied to npgcole's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
You see, as much as I'd love to have a "complete saga" game again, I'd really prefer if they'd wait until Episode IX is done to do that. That and release a Star Wars Rebels game. That series has SO MUCH level potential.- 201 replies

Ya know... I'm a tad bit sad that Wyplash isn't the one representing the Skullkin. I mean, storywise, he's the only General left in the Underworld, so it would make sense. I don't mind as having Krazi and Frakjaw back are just as nice. I'm also a bit bummed that Kozu primarily has a black color scheme, as his all red one from 2013 was just marvelous.

They count as Shtick or "gimmick" sets, and thus do not apply as your genuine, grade-a set. They are also appropriately packaged as separate entities as well. In all, it's more of the fact that they feel more like a gimmick rather that your typical playset that sets them apart.
-
Sets with those specifications typically release only in the Winter/Spring Wave. It's been that way for Ninjago for the past... since its inception. In fact, Nexo Knights is the only action-theme in recent memory to even have a set with that criteria in mind release in a Summer wave (The Glob Lobber).

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
PenPlays replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
*Sits in ornate chair next to an ornate table sipping the Kool-Aid from a tea cup* Rapidly among the stars, the non-canon nay-sayers are triggered. So... who's actually excited about this? I am. It's non-canon. What could possibly go wrong? New outfits An oriental Ninja High-School (please Lego gods, PLEASE!!!) A story written by the Hageman bros. Garmadon Serpentine "fleet of vehicles" I see no negatives. As long as it doesn' effect the TV show canon, this is okay. I'm genuinely interested... Now where's my teaser trailer... EDIT: I have started a thread for the movie. The thread we have here will remain exclusively for the sake of the TV show.- 4,591 replies

It's quite interesting as well, as General Magmar's Siege Engine of Doom was shown at the Toy Fair, yet on Amazon UK, it's nowhere to be seen. So regardless of whether or not Samurai X Cave Chaos or the Airjitzu Battle Grounds will show up in future images really depends...

The function isn't as impressive as I thought on the Aero Striker V2 (neither on the Thunder Mace for that matter), but that little escape pod is pretty neat.

Nesquik (user) who I'm quite certain only commented to stir up trouble. Not only have no rumors pointed to more fairground sets, but, should the Big Ben rumor turn out to be true, it won't be there specifically to replace the Sydney Opera House. Sure, it might be the only Expert set without a box update, but that certainly doesn't mean it won't continue on after Big Ben releases. I mean look at the Ewok Villiage. That thing was thought to be doomed months ago, yet it's still around.

I caved and got the Temple of Airjitzu with double VIP. I have to break down some Chima before I can build it. The wait is unbearable.

Earliest was Bionicle 2015's leak. It was July if I recall correctly. I'm on your side in regards that neither the Water or Swamp villains are the next villains. They would certainly fit if there were some sort of established lore regarding the Elements in Nexo Knights. However, despite their impressive designs, I find both to be lackluster as concepts. Lava beings seem so much more threatening than... fish people... or plant... people... Also, should someone forget, the writers and artists for these books Lego brings out are given story concepts for what they're writing, and they are free to add unofficial, non-canon characters and stories into the mix. Take one of the Tournament of Elements books Ninjago had last year. They introduced a completely new character named Lar. He was the master of water and was one of the participants in the tournament of Elements. We all know now that he, technically, doesn't exist canonically, as Nya is the Water Ninja.

It purely depends on how Lego will be handling the marketing for the Ninjago movie. If they really want to keep focus on the movie. They'll release sets that tie in with the previous wave, and possibly offer a sampler of the movie sets (like the Skybound/villain mix this Summer) in January or March. However, to keep interest in Ninjago, whether movie or not, I can also see them producing only one season of the show in the Winter next year in order to devote the Summer wave purely to the movie. The movie, will also surely have an effect on the Winter 2018 wave, unless Lego really wants to get the show back on the road. If they go for the latter, no doubt it will be a March release instead of January. In typing those words, I came to the realization that Ninjago will mostly likely get a similar amount of sets as the Lego Movie, and I can't help but be excited for that!

No. Store exclusive images don't show up until about a month or two before they release. So June at the earliest.
-
Over time. Yes. This is something I'd love to see. But... this a subject on the story, which should be discussed here.
-
Remember how Lego had to exclude an entire country from Chima's second wave release? Yeah... I don't think that Lego exactly wants to produce buildable figures for their in-house themes, unless the theme revolves around it (Bionicle).

It looks like Nya will be getting a "throwback" outfit as well. I assume it will be included in the Samurai X Cave Chaos set. We'll just have to wait and see to be sure.

Best Ninjago villain minifigure.
PenPlays replied to benderisgreat's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
As a character, it's Nadakhan by quite a bit (sorry Pythor). Minifigure design-wise, the original version of General Kozu is a marvelous sight. I'll need to have the new Kozu in my hands before I make the bold statement of calling him the best minifgure regardless. Also note that Pythor, is also a very fantastic, and detailed minifig, regardless of color pallet. And Cryptor for that matter. The Overlord is also a very detailed minifigure with a very unique design about him, but the Shadow Knight helmet is his only flaw (he needed a more sophisticated and dark helmet a la Lord Vladek). -
Yeah. That doesn't change the fact that it's a variant though.

So this direct was... the average late winter/early spring direct. Lotsa RPG news. Really don't like "Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE's" name. Glad that it's subtitled though, as a dub would have ruined the game. Glad to see Paper Mario in HD. My brother was a big fan of Sticker Star. He's quite excited about this one. I'm also quite happy to see that Star Fox isn't going to be delayed further. Surprised by Starfox Guard, but why, WHY is it being sold as a separate game? No one is going to buy it! It will surely be Captain Toad Tier when it comes to sales. Sad that the Arwing Amiibo got scrapped. So where exactly did Monster Hunter get a fanbase? I hear no one ever talk about it, but somehow it gets hyped... why? Hyrule Warriors was a gold mine of hours of content, and I can't wait for Legends' Season Pass. Medli is a wonderful addition, and that Wind Waker Ganondorf is a FAR better freebie than Dark Link could ever be. The real star here was Kirby though. Not exactly the Kirby Air Ride 2 that I've been waiting for, but Triple Deluxe was fantastic, and although gimmicky looking (heck all Kirbys are gimmicky) Planet Robobot looks great. And lastly... Kirby Amiibo. Get hype.

Yup. Just a helmet change... a variant of the Possession Wave Wu. At the same level as maskless/wrapping-less ninja variants.

Dogshank Cheapest set with (masked) Airjitzu Nya, Ghost Cole, and Sensei Wu (unique aviator variant option) Cheapest set with Lloyd's variation of the Djinnblade Temple/dojo There's six (potentially seven) reasons to get this set right there. You would have to get The Green NRG Dragon, The Lighthouse Siege, and Samurai X Cave Chaos ($$$) in order to fulfill each of these reasons. Even then, you would still be lacking a masked Cole, Dogshank, and (potentially) an aviator variant of Sensei Wu. Or to put things simpler, I would have bought this on day one had I not been behind on the Possession Wave of sets. It has the most going for it, aside from Misfortune's Keep, which is too expensive for a day-one purchase this time of year (in my book).

Don't know whether that's a permanent pen or paint. Regardless, Mr. Clean Magic Erasers tend to work the best (at least for me) in getting permanent ink off. It's affordable too, and requires no chemical know-how!
