  1. So I got the 8 hour update done for Wii U Wait times are nearly four times as long, and characters and vehicles load times take an eternity when placing them on the toy pad. The games is also so large now, that I had to put all the game data on an external USB. Anyone else experiencing this? Is it because the data is in an external drive?
  2. No it's not. Most exclusive sets don't even come close to getting a leak, let alone a page added to their respective store's website, until well into December. That's been the way these exclusive set leaks have worked for years! Now since the CMFs are almost always confidential to the nth degree (like the Force Awakens sets last year) it just depends. Sometimes there are little leaks that break out of the factory, however this year isn't one of them. Expect images about a half-a-month before they are released, so either mid-December or mid-January if not closer the their release.
  3. Brickset has set images.
  4. Alrighty, finally getting around to my opinion on the new sets: The Battle suits are simplistic, yet stylish. I like how they include five powers now instead of three. I also love how each is detailed for each specific knight, and their battle needs (i.e. Lance has roller skates so the bot can lunge at jousting speed/Axl has control accomadations). The Nexo-Combo-Power sheild is pretty cool too. It, however, bothers me to no end that Axl has his normal arms instead of his Ultimate ones (to match his torso). Price guess: $10 ea. The King's Guard Artillery, in my opinion is the best of these sized sets we've gotten from Nexo Knights so far. It has a much more appealing appearance compared to the Knighton Battle Blaster. The completely orange shoulder armor is also not too shabby. Price guess: $10 Lance's Twin Jouster is wonderfully sleek. The orange accents are much stronger, and look very nice on this set particularly. The new drill pieces are also really cool. The big appeal of this set, though, is the detactchable vehicle. Not only is it complete looking when detached, along with a spot for Dennis (the Squire Bot, for those who don't watch the show), it also has an exemplary feature which I will discuss in my summary (spoiler alert: I'm overjoyed) Price guess: $20 Ruina's Lock & Roller... three words: Battle Queen Halbert. They heard our cries! I'm so happy. I do find it weird that the Queen doesn't have a crown, though. Ruina is pretty neat (is that recolored Bellatrix hair)? The set itself though is a bit to be desired. The features are 'meh' although I do get some nice Battle Wagon vibes from it. Also, what's the deal with another Aaron-saves-the-Queen set? Those spear pieces on his bow are neat. Price guess: $20 And the most confusing set name award goes to... The Three Brothers. People who don't get the concept of the vehicles are probably curious where this supposed "third brother" is? I assume its the car, what with the eyes and mouth. The villain minifigs are cool though, but again the set suffers from being a bit too generic with its play features. I'm also really sad that Axl's arms were not remolded to match the new should pad style the other nights have. On the positive side though, this is a cheap set with an ordinary-colored Axl. Price guess $30 What happens when you give your flying vehicle a bird motif? A potential set-of-the-year, that's what. I'm not all to excited about reusing the same Mixel scale of larger sized monsters from 2016, but the fact that it has wings and is a sand blue color makes it all the better. Clay's Falcon Fighter Blaster (unnecessary Blaster) is awesome. It uses the oversized claymore piece from Clay's Battle Mech, and the fact that they fold out in some sort of transformation makes it all the better. This set also features a detachable vehicle, and will also be discussed in the summary. Price guess: $50 Jestro's Headquarters? What happened to the MoMoMo (Monsterous Monster Mobile)!?! Does Lego think we can't handle cheeky names here in the English speaking countries? Anyhoo, this set is on drugs. I mean it's alive and look at those eyes... oh deary. I was not expecting Worriz' Combat Lair, and Maula's Ice Mammoth Stomper to have a baby so soon, and unfortunately that comes with mixed results. The minifigures are definitely the main drive here, as Jestro, and Monstrux are must haves. This is also the only set to have normal armor Macy, which is a shame at its size/potential price point. Very disappointed that Ava has gone without an update. The box doesn't even show her distressed face (which she, most likely, is still using). Macy's mini Thunder Driller is pretty cool though. Price guess $100 Lance vs. Lightning has a very uncreative name, and is merely a means of getting another Mixel scale monster out. Don't get me wrong here, though. That horse is pretty neat, but that's the only real cool thing about the set itself (aside from the minifigs). Price guess: $20 (if this is another $25 exclusive, Lego, so help me). I'm very happy with the outcome of the Stone monsters (being that they are also Lightning monsters as well). It also appears that each Knight is getting a driller vehicle, and an animal vehicle based on their coat-of-arms. I really like that concept, as it really opens the door for cool designs. What I like the most is the idea that the detachable vehicles combine with the Battle Suits!!! I've been waiting for combiner Lego sets for some time, and I'm beyond thrilled that we're finally getting something in that vein. I'm really excited to see what we'll get for the other three Knights.
  5. Anyone notice how the set details mention that Batman's accessories are "new for Spring?" Hopefully that's not implying a Springtime release for the rest of the sets.
  6. I'd agree that it's unique. I also like the idea of a poly designed like that little vehicle. I wonder if something like it will show up. I'm also curious if there are any store exclusive sets this time around?
  7. Finally found time to write down my thoughts on the new sets. The Vermillion Attack is as basic as they come. The set has some nice colors and the weird... gauntlet thingy... Also the minifigure selection is grand for a set this size. Price guess: $12 Desert Lightning, might I say, is the weakest of the bunch. I don't know if I like this idea of a motorcycle combo set that both 2016 and 2017 seem to show as a trend. The set suffers from being two $10 sized sets in one. Both bikes are extremely simplistic (the Vermillion one suffers the most here). The only benefit of snagging this set is the orange Vermillion, Jay's gauntlet thingy, and, well, Jay. He has one of the best designs for the year (so far). Price guess: $20 They're more making boats... They're more making boats!!! This is a nice set. For something called "Destiny's Shadow" it certainly envokes the idea of a baby Bounty, although this set makes me fear for the fate of the Bounty in the show. Price guess: $30 I dunno about the Vermillion Invader. It's giving me Garmatron vibes, which is good, but I feel I may just be disappointed. Catapults simply aren't enough to justify this set as any good. With the exception of being the only set with Zane in it (who is rockin' an awesome suit as well). Price guess: $40 The Samurai VXL is mysterious. It's not Samurai X, as Nya is there in her new suit, but then there's that handsome looking Samurai in dark blue and gold! The car reminds me of the Ultra Agents Infearno Interception set, although I like how this one has steering unlike the afroementioned set. The special Vermillion is rather disappointing actually. I was expecting something more spectacular. The inclusion of an extra pair of legs is a given, as Overlord proved that haveing brick built legs isn't fun on its own, apparently. Price Guess: $40 Dawn of Iron Doom has a lot going on in it (good thing, too). Iron Doom itself has dethroned the Devourer as the coolest looking brick-built serpent (I classify all my reptiles, i.e. Dragons, in their own separate categories, mind you). Notice how with the gauntlet things that you can't really tell if that's a green or a teal colored one. In case it wasn't obvious, either Lloyd or zane do not have a gauntlet thingy. Curious who the hooded dudes are. Also that Wu has a straw hat! Price guess: $70 Dragon's Forge is the Blacksmith Shop we've been waiting for since 2011 (holy choirs sing). It's nice that we're getting the whole Kai/Nya family in one go. Loving all the weapon options, the buildable Vermillion dude, and the two headed Dragon. Part of me does wish, however, that each ninja would get their own individual dragons, but most importantly Nya, as she's only gotten combo Dragons in set form (both this and the Elemental Dragon from last year). Price guess: $100 A well rounded wave, although I feel that there is a bit lacking compared to last year's Winter/Spring wave (it's hard to top pirates with snakes). The minifigures are awesome, although, I'm not looking forward to the massive collection of generic Lego Snakes that we'll be getting from this wave.
  8. So... you know how there's the lot of you wanting a dragon for Macy... Did anyone notice that the Knights are getting vehicles based on their coat of arms as opposed to their weapons this time around? I suppose each character is also going to get a driller-type vehicle as well, being that the villains are made of stone and all.
  9. Now I understand why I had Metalbeard vibes... It's like Lego doesn't want to sell this set at all. Of course if Clayface ends up getting a scene that is SPACESHIP levels of iconic, then maybe it'll sell, but I doubt it. Will definitely wait for when it eventually goes onto discount.
  10. Okay...okay... I've taken a step back to analyze the Clayface set a little better. This set stays true to the shape of Clayface in one if not several iterations. The ripple effect on his body can only be done so well. This is as good as it gets without it getting too smooth. Nice set for nougat parts. The arms are ruined by play features that no AFOL loves. The civilian minifig is nice. I will also reiterate that it is the first set of this series that I've generally felt negativity towards. Strangely enough, the last set I felt this way with was Metalbeard Duel, which, all-in-all, is quite similar to the Clayface...er... Splat... Attack
  11. I really like the combination concept of the three small sets, but the Scarecrow set really has a lot to be desired. The Clayface set is just ugly. I mean it looks like a big pile of poo. If that set is more than $20 no one is going to want it.
  12. UK will most likely get both of the them in January (but the US will most likely have to wait until March for Ninjago). It needs to be said, though, we don't have any images of the Ninjago sets so...
  13. OH! UK Stores. No they still get the exclusives. I don't know if I got this here, some other Lego Forum, or just from the my own wild mind, but I somehow recall hearing that all TLBM sets were launching Jan. 1st outside of the US.
  14. Apparently Lego Stores don't get exclusive sets anymore. It's also been specifically reported that that set will be available on Jan 1st. Those yellow boxes were completely unexpected... ...Yummy
  15. But I don't want the horse to die. Stop beating it. Look I love the Overlord as much as the next guy, but I really hope that (for ONCE) he stays dead. Like many long lasting stories, we need to move on from older enemies who have spent their time. This way new and/or over-arching villains who are ominous (thank goodness for Pythor who has, mind you, only spent one season as a primary villain, as opposed to the Overlord's two) and refreshing to the eyes and ears. We also need to stray away from anything to do with Snakes. It's getting old. Dragon warriors or Shogun please!
  16. So... This has been implied since the whole scene where the Book of Monsters was bragging about how awesome Monstrux was (reffering to himself) back in the first season. I was avoiding mentioning until now as I was afraid of being dashed by people who aren't aware of extremely common TV tropes. I really, REALLY hope that we aren't just connecting the dots now. On a side note, if that cloud thing in the MoMoMo isn't an evolved form of Monstrux, I will be severely disappointed.
  17. So cool! Curious about the weird clocks on their bellies.
  18. Releasing them on Cyber Monday draws people to the website who already braved Black Friday, and aren't willing to tackle shopping in stores for a couple days. Besides, most non-Lego fans will assume that they're only on the website. And the reason why Lego splits up the launches of some themes? Well they want you to come back and buy more Lego don't they? Odds are is that you'll impulse buy and something else, whether Lego or not. In most retail situations, footfall is what prioritizes a store for improvements and incentives to get people in stores. If one retail location for a retail chain didn't bring in people, do you think they would keep that location/deem it profitable? By forcing us to go back to stores, they're giving relevance to the location where the product is being sold. This of course is one of the many (if not the easiest to understand of) reasons that footfall in stores (online traffic as well) is so important, and why they use tactics like these in the first place. TL;DR1: People don't want to shop again/are afraid to shop after Black Friday. Why not shop online, instead? TL;DR2: Forcing you to go to a store on multiple occasions is a ploy to get you to (impulse) buy more stuff, whether Lego or not, hence Lego splitting up launch waves.
  19. They show Macy's hair in minifig form, though. It's the CMF female genie's hair in red interestingly enough.
  20. That's as best as you're going to get until the DVD (inevitably) releases. All the websites will most likely be taking said 360p video when they eventually upload it to their website. (which, all-together, very few websites do).
  21. Let's look at this from the perspective of sales. What would happen if (as an example) you put $100 toward making 100 toys that you intended to sell for $1.40 to make a profit. and only 40 of those toys sold within the window they were officially available at full price? Several discounts later, you still haven't sold even remotely enough, and you have to claim them as a loss. Most of the 2013 Wave is available for full price if not less directly from Amazon nearly 4 years after its launch. Most of which neither Lego or Amazon can discount as that would but them under profit, if not the cost of manufacturing in general. Now in the future if you were deciding on reviving a toy line, would you pick the one that had trouble selling launch window product years after it was launched? There are fans of Chima. There will always be fans of Chima. But unlike there was for Ninjago, there is not enough outcry for Chima to even warrant a revival at this point. How do you communicate that with fans who may be too young to understand loss like this? Tell them "Maybe some day :D," even though, just off sales alone (which is why these themes exist in the first place) that is never going to happen. It's time to move on, like the Classic Space, Toy Story, Belville, etc. fans before you. I have. Just don't forget what you loved about what you've lost.
  22. Holy detail Batman! Those Vermillion look fantastic. And that Samurai looks, interesting and somewhat familiar. But why are we getting snake people again?
  23. Hi. Welcome to Eurobricks I should let you know that a part of the sites guidelines ask that you form your sentences with proper punctuation and the like. To answer your question, though. Based on the popularity and sales (there are some 2014 sets still on the shelves around here if that's any indication) of the theme the answer is no. The theme killed itself for its media presence not being too good to begin with (especially since it was living in Ninjago's shadow). That's aside from the show's atrocious story-telling and acting, and this is coming from someone who at least enjoyed the sets.
  24. It was a... good special. The plot had little substance. There's only so much you can do with a TV special, however. The battles were too short (and had WAY too much slow-mo). I was expecting something so much more grandiose than what we got. Especially with all the villains. The villains were also complete jokes. Samukai was no where near threatening (he never really was, now that I think about it). Cryptor somehow has a handy Achilles heel that popped out of nowhere. And when was Kozu this air-headed. I mean I get that he's out for revenge, but running is the only thing he did. I also felt that Pythor was thrown in there for no reason. Chen was the only one that seemed substantial, and even then he ended just as fast as the others. Cole's scar makes no sense, and neither does that weird... orange energy... thing he did with his hands. Some positives though. The Dojo ruins still exist. We saw a side of Morro that was untainted by vengeance. Cole is normal again. And FINALLY the Temple of Airjitzu is their home base now (the instruction booklet for the set mentioned this nearly an entire year before it actually happened). Also, was that a time jump at the end?
  25. I would assume that they haven't yet as: 1) Dimensions began before Nexo Knights was revealed 2) Designing packs for Nexo Knights for Year 2 (back in 2015) would have been a case where the designers would be assuming Nexo Knights' popularity before the theme was even released. It is quite popular, by the looks of everything on the internet at least. So seeing them in Year 3 certainly isn't out of the question.
