Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

I agree with you. The FF have not been relevant since the 60s passed. And this is coming from someone who loves them plus those 2000s movies. I've been saying since day one that a Baxter Building modular in 2025 is out of the question. It makes no sense considering Marvel's decline now when Avengers Tower and the Sanctum Sanctorum weren't immediately made as D2Cs during the MCU's peak. The X-Men have remained relevant as a film franchise, as seen by the box office gross of Deadpool & Wolverine. Even if it's just Wolverine keeping the X-Men relevant, that can be enough. Honestly, that's why I think he'll remain "exclusive." We're already getting a second Xavier from the GWP, also made from borrowed parts. -

I'm expecting most of the X-Men minifigs to be recycled in future sets. I can see Xavier being kept exclusive, or maybe Iceman or Bishop. -

Her costume isn't that revealing, not in Lego form. They didn't have a problem with it in the Lego Marvel Super Heroes game. She's showing as much skin as She-Hulk did in her first minifigure as She-Hulk also wore a bathing suit. -

I think the ones we're seeing predominantly featured as easter eggs in the X-Mansion are likely to show up. Nightcrawler and Jubilee are the most obvious choices. Also Cable for his popularity and Angel since he's the last original X-Man not to appear. Nightcrawler, Jubilee, and Cable would likely appear in a CMF and Angel in a future X-Men set. I think Colossus and Psylocke would very likely appear too since they're the only classic X-Men missing and part of the 90s Jim Lee lineup. Along with major villains like Mystique, Sabretooth, and Juggernaut if they're willing to make a bigfig. The easter egg references to Apocalypse and Mr. Sinister are also promising. As for Dazzler, the fact that she has an easter egg reference in the X-Mansion set, plus appears in the new Lego movie, makes me think she's not an impossible choice down the line either. There's a slight possibility we might one day get a minifigure for her. Didn't one of the leaks say that we shouldn't expect anything X-Men related until Lego sees how well the X-Mansion sells? I feel that's plausible. They might be holding out on future sets. -

I said it because a video mentioned that both Apocalypse and Mr. Sinister are referenced in the set. Looking at the sticker sheets, it's the big black panel with a grey Egyptian symbol and red diamond. The Egyptian-looking symbol is Apocalypse's symbol and the diamond is Sinister's. -

You can see it here around the 19 minute mark next to the Avengers Tower and Sanctum Sanctorum. So yes, you'll probably want to buy 2 of these to make it look anywhere near as imposing as it should be. EDIT: found a pic of all 4 Marvel modulars together. https://www.instagram.com/p/DBRJ92xIhc1/ -

Pretending this is true, that Morph minifigure is going to have the plainest blue legs anyone can have...unless they recycle Cyclops' X-Mansion legs for him. And I don't believe for a second that anyone would know the CMF series 3 this early on. Almost all those choices are characters people have been requesting or speculating on. Yeah, this will need a MOC for sure to improve its size. -

Thanks for confirming about the fedora! And for letting us know about the alternate universe references. I like that they included the 90s animated universe! My rankings would basically be the same. The Daily Bugle is superb. I have a few issues with the minifigs (lack of MJ, Harry Osborn, Flash Thompson, Eddie Brock, an actually accurate Gwen, etc.) but the set itself couldn't possibly be improved. X-Mansion I'm mixed on. The mansion is a little too small for my taste but the interior makes up for it by really including everything important. Only the space inside is rather cramped and I don't like the Cerebro helmet which literally looks like a lampshade. The minifigs and the lack of dual molded legs, arms, and details are my main issues with the set. I can live with only 10 minifigs but if we're only getting 10, they should all be the best 10 minifigs possible and that's clearly not the case. But as an X-Men fan, even a mid-tier X-Mansion ranks high for me. Avengers Tower looks great on the outside and has a large assortment of minifigs. But the interior is lacking. Sanctum Sanctorum I think looks excellent on the exterior but I do think the fact that only one side of the house curves and the other ends straight makes it look incomplete. The minifigs are very few (and also lack detailing), plus as someone who's not a big MCU fan, most of the easter eggs and references are wasted on me. For both this and the Avengers Tower, I would have preferred comic versions. -

Angel gets a lot of merchandise because Stitch is huge in Japan. And in Japan, they like pairing characters together with their female counterpart which is why Mickey/Minnie & Donald/Daisy are hugely popular there but Goofy and Pluto a little less. Also why Miss Bunny (Thumper's love interest from Bambi) is super popular and gets her own merchandise in Japan. So Stitch gets the same treatment with Angel. This is also why Angel gets more merchandise than Lilo. She's more marketable as the female pink Stitch. Like you said, if you look at Stitch merchandise, one would think Angel is the secondary character over Lilo. The difficulty with adapting Angel as a minifig is that they would need to include her antenna. Which is something they didn't do for Stitch as Experiment 626. Lilo wears a dress though so the legs wouldn't work for that reason. -

Just looked it up on their site and wow, the X-Mansion was really downsized in comparison. I'm expecting a lot of MOCs to increase its height and expand the mansion. Looking at videos of the interior, it's nice to see that Beast's lab was included. Although I don't think it's accurate to the show, I like the decision of placing Cerebro behind the balcony doors as the main lab. Also featuring the medical bed where Wolverine's skeleton can be examined. Lots of easter eggs besides the ones pictured and mentioned before. Wolverine's bedroom seems to feature a second bed, which I guess belongs to Jubilee since it features her bubble gum wrapper. The statue of liberty figure in the bedroom is a reference to the first X-Men movie's climax. There's also a calendar of Wolverine on the beach barbequing sausages. This is a wonderful comic reference to the 90s, when Marvel used to do swimsuit/beach specials for their characters, particularly the X-Men. The dumpster seems to feature the fedora (which I still think is meant to represent Wolverine in the comics rather than Beast from the show), Jubilee's chewing gum, Nightcrawler's sword, and Magneto's coin from the First Class movies. The back wall features graffiti mentioning Pixie and Pyro. The entrance hall/lobby features a portrait of Xavier and Magneto opening the school together as friends. Definitely more a reference to the movies than the comics. And a portrait of the five original X-Men so Angel actually gets two depictions in this set besides the UXM #1 comic. Also a newspaper referencing the Mutant Registration Act. I'm a little confused as to why the Danger Room sign is placed above the front doors of the mansion though instead of the hallway leading to the Danger Room. The classroom's hidden wall depicts Apocalypse and Mr. Sinister. Hopefully hints for future villain characters in minifig form. Also a travel guide to Japan so we get a second Wolverine reference to his time in Japan, besides the Yashida sword in his bedroom. . -

Voldemort being included in the Malfoy Manor set doesn't surprise me. I'm just grateful they didn't include Charity Burbage for obvious reasons. I don't think Ron was really necessary so his exclusion doesn't bug me. Particularly since we're finally getting Malfoy Manor. As for the microscale Diagon Alley, I hope they consider making some of those new buildings into a further D2C Diagon Alley expansion set. -

Ok, that is Old Man Logan then. The hairpiece they gave Logan really doesn't suit him imo. I forgot to mention that besides Nightcrawler, Dazzler, Cable, Old Man Logan, and Jubilee, there's also Angel. He's featured on the UXM #1 comic featured in Wolverine's bedroom. So there's at least 6 characters depicted we don't have minifigs of between the X-Mansion set and the GWP Cerebro set. -

The GWP is disappointing. I won't have a problem missing that. Would have preferred something that actually fits into the mansion. On the DOFP poster, is that Cable beneath Cyclops? And below Jean and next to Rogue, is that supposed to be Wolverine but out of costume? The references to Nightcrawler, Dazzler, Cable(?), and Jubilee in the GWP seem to suggest they're the most likely candidates for more X-Men sets or in the CMF series. Well, maybe not Dazzler but then again, it's interesting that she shows up in an easter egg in this set but also is appearing in the next Lego movie. Yes, before when it was rumored that Billy would show up in Agatha's show, I predicted he might get a minifig in the next CMF. There aren't many high-profile characters left so he's an obvious choice. The amount of discrepancies between the hairpieces in the pics and actual set are building up at this point. I wonder if the alternate hairstyle for Jean on the poster could also be an easter egg to Madelyne Pryor, but Maddie wears her hair long and open. Not a different style of ponytail. -

Honestly, the set doesn't sound big enough to even be able to do the original house justice, let alone after the reconstructions and upgrades. Similarly, I doubt they'll have the piece count to include the hover cars either. -

Bishop's costume in the comics, original show, and new show has always classically had short sleeves. I don't think it's nitpicky at all to say they cheaped out by not giving him dual molded arms because the look is not fully authentic. And I've said the rest of Bishop is really well done besides the arms. This is not just a Marvel thing. Over in the Disney thread, I've made several posts about how Lilo lacks dual molded arms when her dress has short sleeves. With her, they gave her fully bare arms instead. Online, there are also lots of complaints about how bad Cerebro looks and how they didn't bother coming up with a better mold for the Cerebro helmet. from what I can tell, it looks like they're not reusing the same exact characters from the original cover. They're using the same minifigures as in the set. Presumably skipping either Xavier or Magneto since there's only 9 slots. The first row seems to be Cyclops, Jean, and Storm. Another reference I noted is that they included the Yashida sword in Wolverine's room to represent his connection to Japan. Something I was hoping they'd do if they made his room. -

I love the Amazing Nightcrawler poster, presumably from his circus days. Makes it more likely he'll get a CMF minifig. Also love the Dazzler concert poster next to it. Wish we could see which 9 X-Men are featured in the DOFP poster. Happy the basketball court was included since there quite a few iconic scenes from the comics featuring the team playing basketball, even if baseball is their main sport. Iceman looks great with all the printing. Also happy Magneto has a hairpiece. But Bishop really needed dual molded arms since he wears short sleeves. Wolverine also wears a fedora a lot in the comics. It used to be a staple as part of his civilian clothes. Good catch, I didn't notice the Gambit reference. If you're talking about the poster next to Nightcrawler, that's Dazzler's concert poster. Yeah, I think they did mix up Jean with Rogue there. That image doesn't really work with Wolverine spying on them. I'm glad they included the photo of Scott and Jean for the Wolverine meme though. -

There are so many great Fortnite figures which should be made into minifigs like Colossus and Jubilee. I would also like to see Dark Phoenix, X-23, and Psylocke (although preferably a more classic interpretation of Psylocke than what Fortnite gave us). And Cyclops, Rogue, and Gambit look so much better with the extra details and printing. -

Great ideas for both Jumba and Pleakley. They haven't had much exposure in anything Disney-related lately so I do hope they're including and not snubbed to just focus on Lilo and Stitch. I'm also expecting that Lilo's doll Scrump will show up as a new molded piece. Maybe Violet's hair. I could also see it being Mulan's hair or the Lucius Malfoy hair in black. Lilo has pretty unique bangs so she does deserve her own molded piece imo but I know that's not going to happen. Nani and David both wear shorts so I'm curious if they'll actually make the effort of dual molded legs for them or just give them bare basic legs. Sorta like how the Second Task Harry didn't get shorts but just black legs. -

Is the blue flame piece supposed to represent Iceman's powers? Like an icicle? Bishop looks much better than I thought he would. But it doesn't look like he has dual molded arms to showcase his short sleeves so that's a miss. Is the energy disc he's standing on supposed to represent a time travel portal? I do like the 1963 sign under the X-logo as a homage to the X-Men's first appearance. Although it makes the omission of Angel (since even Beast is shown on a sticker) more jarring. -

If this set is real, I hope they pass on Jubilee. A regular set won't do her justice. We'll have another Rogue situation (or Gambit or Cyclops or Xavier or Magneto for that matter) where the minifigure doesn't do the character justice. Jubilee especially will need the extra budget from the CMF series. For this same reason, I say no to Morph because we'll get the same basic legs Cyclops gets if Morph is made outside of a CMF series. -

Probably reuse based on how they reused Snow White, the prince and the witch for the Seven Dwarfs cottage set. I would love if they gave her dual molded arms. I'm very curious how they'll make them. Jumba would need to be a bigfig or brick-built. And Pleakley has all those legs so standard minifigure legs won't work for him. -

Although I doubt we'll see leg printing, if it's the comic versions of the FF, the Oswald legs can easily be reused to give the FF team boots. Torso printing could be reused for Reed and Johnny (assuming Johnny isn't in flame on mode) but Sue would have a feminine torso. My guess is they wanted the X-Men characters to all synergize with the 90s theme for the show and sets, so they picked Dazzler in her 90s costume as well. It's possible they have a minifigure in design for her in a future X-Men set or CMF series, but I personally doubt it. I'm not expecting to see her as a physical minifigure anytime soon, if ever. Ben is only slightly smaller than the Hulk in the comics so it wouldn't be that obvious just from looking at them. In most comics, they look more or less the same size. It would be really jarring to have a bigfig Hulk with a minifigure Thing if you're trying to reenact their fights. The leakers mentioning that the Galactus set is comic-based is also why I think there's more to this Thing representation in the movie than the usual exclusive characters who show up. As for Omega Red, he'd be a good choice for a future Wolverine set. He's showing up in the Insomniac Wolverine video game as well so if we ever did get sets for that game (although I doubt that would happen), it would be a good place for Omega Red to be included. -

Thank you, I even saw his post but didn't realize there were more pics with the next button. Yes, that Cinderella hair really does look way more accurate. It doesn't look yellow like Aurora's hair but something darker with more of an orange tint. It's definitely the same hairpiece though. I'm curious if the blue of her headband and earrings is the exact same as the light blue old hairpiece or if they're a darker blue too. From the pic, I can't tell if the blue just looks darker because of lighting. The minidoll wears a darker blue so maybe they did adjust the colors of her headband and earrings along with her hair, but I hope not. The light blue from the original minifigure was accurate enough. I was hoping for the Cinderella hairpiece to be released in a dark blonde/golden brown color so this might be it. Even Aurora now has her hair in bright light yellow instead of regular yellow in one of her latest minidoll sets so it'll be nice if both princesses have accurate hair colors.
