  1. Cap's classic comic look has always had wings both sides of his mask. That's not a problem in modern iterations of the character, like the MCU, but his classic look can't be replicated without the wings. His previous classic minifigure really doesn't look classic at all just because of those missing wings. It just looks like his MCU version in a brighter blue. Thor would need a molded helmet and long hair piece. His previous "classic" minifigure just used the same hair his movie minifig used to use. Exactly what I would expect Lego to do even today, to not make the effort. Quicksilver would need his iconic hairstyle. Ant-Man with his classic helmet. Loki has been a character since Phase One of the MCU and the main villain in that phase. He was already a fan favorite character since the inception of the MCU, whereas Wanda became a breakout character post-Endgame. If you can blame Secret Invasion for the failure of The Marvels, then by that same logic, it makes sense that Captain Marvel being the film to directly precede Endgame is why that was such a huge success. The hype from Infinity War to Endgame was unparalleled. Captain Marvel was promised to be a key character in Endgame, with her solo film being required viewing. Unlike Black Panther, the Captain Marvel movie has not aged well and isn't really popular or considered great. As a fan of Brie Larson and of the Carol Danvers character from the comics, I felt a disconnect from the character in her solo film. I don't think audiences gravitated towards her which is why her sequel failed. And as others pointed out, if she was so beloved as a character and as leader of a new franchise, it wouldn't matter if Kamala and Monica were now co-leads. Audiences would still come to see Carol. They wouldn't stay away because of Kamala and Monica because most audiences wouldn't even know who they are, not watching the Disney+ shows. And The Marvels is considered the biggest box office flop in history now. She did suffer from bad writing but she was still the most appealing character of MoM. Particularly with Strange being more unlikable and nobody caring for America Chavez, to the point that she's all but disappeared from the MCU. So Wanda opposing them and wanting to kill America probably didn't make her lose many fans. But I agree the writing let her down but not enough to abandon the character completely as fans are still invested in her and clearly want her back. Marvel needs to see the damage they're doing to their brand by pushing unpopular characters who aren't taking off while villainizing or killing off their actual beloved ones. And based on some of the characters appearing in those Doomsday leaks who have strong ties to Wanda, it's not improbable that she'll be back one day as there's a lot of loose ends that weren't tied up. Then I agree, that an Avengers Mansion is prime material in the future but I wouldn't expect it until a few years. Not with Avengers Tower and maybe the X-Mansion still around, and not until we've built up a healthy number of comic book minifigs. But I've long advocated for the fact that Avengers Mansion would be a likely choice for future D2C sets. I don't remember the rankings of the Disney+ shows in terms of most watched to least watched, although I've posted them here before. But Secret Invasion was one of the least watched shows and got a lot of negative media attention for being a show that nobody watched or cared about to even know was coming out. But even then, Ms. Marvel was the least watched Disney+ MCU show, scoring even less views than Secret Invasion.
  2. I'm very curious if there might be a sticker on the ceiling of the ballroom to show the baby cupids. The prince resembles Bill Weasley here. I don't think that's the same head though. It might just be the lighting but his face looks more tanned than Belle's. If the tower was thicker and hollowed out, they could have put some rooms there. A jail cell for Maurice anyway. Also wish some suits of armor and gargoyles had been included. One of my favorite scenes from the movie was when Belle is first walking to her room and gets frightened by all the grotesques around her. They really added to the gothic vibe of the castle, but I guess there's no room in the castle for gargoyles or suits of armor, besides maybe next to the staircase on the first floor.
  3. Wasn't MoM written before WandaVision even came out? Or at the very least, I think the writers for MoM never consulted the writers of WandaVision which is why Wanda was promptly villainized again. Out of all the characters Marvel has pushed since Endgame, the only one who legitimately became a fan favorite and became a part of pop culture was Wanda. Especially since her show benefited from being the first Disney+ MCU show and debuted during COVID when everyone was at home and had a chance to stream. The fact that Marvel killed off their most popular new character in years seems so ludicrous, especially based on their focus on Captain Marvel, Falcon, and everyone else. I'm sure the rumors that Marvel is trying to bring her back with her own movie are true, although I doubt she'll be able to be incorporated into Secret Wars. I think the Mansion's biggest difficulty is that it overlaps with both Avengers Tower and the X-Mansion right now. Didn't know about this but hope this is true. It makes sense because in Avengers: Children's Crusade, which brought Wanda back into the comics after many years of being in limbo, we find out that she was secretly living with Doom in his castle and engaged to marry him. I don't know if the MCU Doom will be magical or not, but it would make sense that he'd be interested in Wanda for her power. She's also the only popular MCU heroine left. I think Black Widow lost a lot of appeal after being killed off and her solo movie just being so-so while Captain Marvel failed to take off completely. I doubt She-Hulk will be able to fit that slot as the top MCU heroine. This is the other reason I see an Avengers Mansion being very unlikely anytime soon. Avengers Tower could recycle about 20 or so existing minifigures, but there's basically nobody ready to be used in an Avengers Mansion set. All the comic book versions of the classic team would require new molds like you said. At best, we'd get something like the X-Mansion with maybe 10 very bare-basic minifigures with no dual molding, leg printing, and probably not even any inventive new molds. I can see Scarlet Witch getting her MCU tiara headpiece recolored rather than a more comic accurate mold. Thor probably wouldn't even get his helmet but just the standard long hair.
  4. This is what TLM set from 2 years ago should have been like. Something based on the animated movie, specifically King Triton's golden palace. If the set is successful (and I'm sure it will be), I hope we can expect similar castle sets like this one and the previous Frozen one (without minidolls of course) from other popular Disney movies. Like the Sleeping Beauty castle from the movie with Maleficent's thorns and Agrabah Palace from Aladdin. And hopefully a proper castle set from TLM, either of King Triton's underwater palace or Prince Eric's castle.
  5. When it comes to the Chamber of Secrets and Sorcerer's Stone challenges leading to the room with the actual stone, I wonder if future sets will be able to incorporate the trapdoor functions the way the modular sets did. With Fluffy's trapdoor leading to a chamber with the devil's snare. The girls' bathroom having the entrance that slides down to the Chamber of Secrets. I hope they don't forgo that aspect.
  6. LeFou and Maurice look good. So does the prince from what little we see of him. Cogsworth is well-built but he towers over Lumiere and Mrs. Potts now. Not to scale at all. I'm glad all the major enchanted objects are included (only the very minor Coat Rack is missing) The interior is pitifully small though. The West Wing basically only has enough room for the rose. Belle's "room" is just the Wardrobe and no bed. The library is almost laughably scaled down. I do like the main entrance staircase. There are two brown doors on both side of the staircase though and I wonder what they lead to. I like that there appears to be room for the minifigs to stand on the exterior balconies, in the tower and in front of the stained glass window. It doesn't seem big enough to justify $300. The current Great Hall set is way more spacious but is only $200. The Frozen Ice Castle was even less than that.
  7. Most people are predicting Spider-Man as the lead. But I agree, I don't know if that would be feasible with his schedule. I don't think he has many MCU movies left in his contract anyway. if you're referring to who I think you're referring to, I think he makes the most sense to be the new lead as a legacy character played by the most famous actor still left in the main cast. But looking at the pics, I see a potential issue that has already plagued previous MCU movies. Way too many Disney+ characters. Movie watchers will not recognize half of them and a few will confuse them so much because they're so different from when they were last in the movies.
  8. Same, I can't tell who the main lead is supposed to be either. I know Marvel announced in the past it was Falcon as the new Captain America but I have no idea if they'll use him to headline this franchise if he can't even headline his own solo film. And I think Captain Marvel was also supposed to be one of the new leaders of the new phases, but she's another character who failed to sustain a franchise. Neither of them are in the concept art either, so I don't know what Marvel is planning with them or if they'll quietly write them off. Reportedly Brie Larson doesn't want to continue in the MCU anymore. They'd be better off repurposing that police station set for the Avengers compound than giving us the same battle scenario which becomes even more diluted with each new iteration. Doesn't Marvel get final say on what gets made and which minifigs are included? I know with the Daily Bugle, Lego planned to populate it with mostly random civilians and it was Marvel that forced them to essentially rename them into existing characters like Gwen Stacy. I think with Disney sets, Disney does get full control on what sets are made so I'd imagine they have the same control for Marvel sets.
  9. I had zero interest in the future of the MCU but Doomsday actually does look good. The question is if audiences will give it a chance after so many lackluster films in a row. I also see a group of characters that Marvel seems to be pushing and I don't think the public cares about them at all, but they'll at least make for some nice minifigures since we don't have some of them. I might have to watch FF after all. If Lego is so fixated on Endgame's final battle, I wonder why they don't make a set on the actual compound pre-destruction.
  10. I thought the same thing. I always wanted a Fantasmic set with a riverboat featuring a bunch of characters plus dragon Maleficent. We already have Maleficent now and when I first saw that the riverboat was confirmed, I knew it would be a perfect fit. The present dress mold really only works for Aurora. Snow White and Wendy have skirts that end around their ankles so their shoes are visible. But the dress mold doesn't reflect that. It wouldn't work for Ariel in her blue dress either which is the same length as Snow White and Wendy's dresses. And her pink dress or wedding gown should also be wider like Cinderella and Belle's gowns. I think the current dress mold would only work for Jasmine in her purple dress. Dresses that are long and slimmer fits.
  11. Quidditch is very popular though and one of the most recognizable elements of Harry Potter. Hogwarts Legacy got a lot of flack for not including it, but then there was a Quidditch game released right after. And I think the Hogwarts Legacy sequel has confirmed they will include Quidditch. I don't think a Quidditch Pitch D2C would be any less recognizable than the Hogwarts Train we did get. And while that sold badly, that was more because people didn't like the scale or lack of motorized engine. I think Option 1 makes the most sense. Most fans will only care about Gryffindor vs Slytherin and it'll be easy to reuse 7 torsos for Gryffindor and 7 for Slytherin. If Diagon Alley could include what was then a rare Hufflepuff torso and Ravenclaw torso, then including the more widely distributed Gryffindor and Slytherin torsos in bulk here shouldn't be an issue. And considering how many Hermiones, Rons, and Snapes we have in all the sets, it wouldn't be implausible to include them as well to include a play feature of Hermione setting Snape's robes on fire in the stands.
  12. Assuming the rumored CMF series is real, I think Lego based the choices more on what designs they thought would look most appealing as minifigures rather than which characters are the most relevant. And I think that makes sense from their POV because casual fans who buy the CMF probably won't recognize most of the rather niche and obscure Spider-Verse characters. So it makes sense from a marketing perspective to instead focus on Spider-Man variations who look interesting enough that casual fans who don't recognize them would still want to buy them. I'm also someone who hasn't seen the sequel. Lizard in the 60s Spider-Man comics was always rather human-scaled so I guess I still see him like that. In the decades since, he's definitely portrayed as being larger. And that must be why Lego Marvel Super Heroes also turned him into a bigfig. After I heard that the Daily Bugle originally was supposed to include mostly random civilians and Marvel put their foot down and said they all have to be existing characters from the comics, it makes sense as to why Gwen Stacy in that set looks nothing like herself. She was just a random blonde civilian who Lego ended up naming Gwen Stacy to comply with Marvel's rules. So we definitely need one of her in her iconic outfit from The Death of Gwen Stacy. But I agree that I can see her not being done well outside of a CMF series. Which tbh feels like the case for almost any minifigure now, especially after seeing how badly the X-Men characters were done who didn't show up first in the CMF. I wonder if it's Marvel that doesn't want a CMF series based on the comics, since they'd rather promote their new TV shows, or if it's Lego that feels the comic versions wouldn't be really relevant. The Classic Thor we did got was a horrible minifigure, even for the time it came out in. Lego Avengers features a proper Classic Thor with the Ragnarok character who had the molded helmet and hair. I'd like to see a version like that. But he's another perfect example of a minifigure that wouldn't really be done justice outside of a CMF series. Rebrickable has a MOC upgrade for the X-Jet which I think can end up fitting 10 minifigures inside instead of the original 4.
  13. Another reason I'd like to see a village set because we could get some of the random villagers included like LeFou, the Bimbettes, the baker, the bookseller, etc. Also Monsieur D'Arque. I think making a CMF series based on only the princesses or their movies could be rather limiting because it would more or less turn away little boys, half the demographic. The Friends/DP minidoll themes exist to cater strictly to little girls, which is why all the female-oriented franchises like Wednesday and Wicked have gone the minidoll route. I think a better idea would be something similar to the Disney Villains 90s nostalgia set, but using their hero counterparts. Aladdin as Prince Ali, Aurora as Briar Rose, Snow White in her rags or a more movie accurate version of her princess dress, and either Belle in her village dress or Beast in his red cape outfit. Presumably the Beast to keep it gender-balanced with two male characters and two female characters, like the original villains set. Maybe Snow White could be replaced with Ariel in her blue dress or Cinderella in her rags. I get what you mean. It makes sense considering Chip and Dale. Both are human-scaled minifigures, the same size as Mickey, Alice, Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, etc. like in the parks. Same with Tinker Bell. Those three characters were specifically included in the park sets like that. The only exception is Pluto since we don't have a human-scaled minifigure for him, even though he walks around the parks like that. But he came in the Mickey sets rather than the park ones. I would like a version in the future closer to the how the castle looks in the movie. Completely agree. I guess it's not marketable enough. Only Belle and Ariel got their peasant dresses as minidolls probably because they're blue rather than brown or gray. Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, and Jasmine have less marketable colors for their peasant dresses.
  14. I like the color scheme actually but it also seems to lean more towards cream. I think in the movie, the castle is more grayish than cream-colored. I hope they include the exterior balcony to the ballroom. And also the cupids on the ceiling. Glad to know for sure that this Belle minifig has sparkles. I'm not a fan of the sparkles so now I know I should definitely pick up that Target exclusive set to get a Belle minifig without sparkles. Wish we got sparkle-less versions of Snow White, Cinderella, and Aurora (along with more movie accurate colors and designs). And I suppose I should include Sorcerer Mickey in that list as well. It does get a little annoying that Marvel, Star Wars, and Harry Potter can all get sets with about a dozen or even two dozen minifigures. Whereas even the largest Disney sets can only get a handful of minifigs each time. With Gaston, this is also the opportunity to give him a new print with the shoulder strap from his quiver on his torso. Or even his wedding outfit for a change. But I'm assuming he'll be identical to the previous Gaston minifigure.
  15. It's not usual, except in bigger sets from some of the major franchises like Cloud City which had two versions of Leia and Han each. Diagon Alley had two versions of Harry and so did Gringotts. Avengers Tower had three versions of Tony/Iron Man and two Caps but one of them was an alternate Cap. Like the Sanctum Sanctorum had three Dr. Stranges but they were all alternate versions of the character. The Frozen D2C set did have two versions of Elsa, but like you said, that may have been more because they were minidolls. With BATB, the castle set is so big and most of the cast can't be made into minifigures, which is why I'm wondering if they might feel the need to include more minifigs to justify the price tag and thus give us alternate versions of Belle and the Beast. I think the ballroom, West Wing, dining room, and library are all guaranteed. The dining room is the stage for Be Our Guest, so there's no way they ignore that. And the library is one of the more iconic scenes of the movie and probably the favorite room for fans after the ballroom. Both the dining room and library are featured in the current Disney castle set, so it would be weird to feature those in a general Disney-themed castle but not the actual BATB one. Same with the kitchen since Chef Bouche is included in the Disney castle. Belle's room is also likely just because that's where the wardrobe goes and most of these castle sets do feature a bedroom. It doesn't seem likely to make a princess castle set but not include a room for the princess. I can see the fireplace room being snubbed if there's a lack of space because it's not as iconic as the rest of the rooms. In the movie, the jail cell is part of a tower so if they need something small to fill up space in the main tower, it could probably be a cell. Good point that there's not going to be much room for a pipe organ. Below is a map of the castle interior and usually the pipe organ is in the topmost tower. There's really not enough space to fit it all in there. Your idea of an attic section with some Christmas stuff is more likely.
  16. Exactly. Even in terms of Spider-Man, we still don't have a proper 616 Gwen Stacy, Flash Thompson as Agent Venom, 616 Electro, or 616 Lizard. Or comic accurate versions of Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Vision, Black Widow, Wasp, Valkyrie, etc. Some of the characters you've mentioned like Silver Surfer, Colossus, Mystique, and Elektra got minifigures in the Lego Marvel Super Heroes video game which came out in 2013. It's been more than a decade and we still don't have any of those classic characters in physical form. We're only just getting the FF and they're still not technically comic accurate in their original blue/black costumes.
  17. I think most people are right that we won't get human minifigs for the enchanted objects at all. Disney never makes any merch for them and if I'm correct, Lego's deal with Disney is that Disney decides the sets and which characters to portray. So I don't think it's a priority for Disney. LeFou and Maurice are more likely but I can also see Lego skipping them. Something no one's brought up is if we might see more minifigs for Belle and Beast in their other costumes. Belle in her blue village dress and Beast in his red cape. I would like that too although it's unlikely to happen. But there's been some BATB castle products in the last few years which do depict the organ in the castle. I know Lego likes to include easter eggs, like the Winnie the Pooh set had references to The Tigger Movie. I don't know if Disney encourages those easter eggs or if they police what can or cannot be referenced.
  18. Oh okay, a lot of Disney movies do get criticized for what I consider to be rather petty reasons. I'm used to hearing the Disney movies get called out for stereotypes and sexism but this was the first I heard that people were offended by the Lumiere and Fifi scene. Considering they're only enchanted objects, and not even compatible ones, I don't think they could do anything very inappropriate beyond kissing. In the third BATB movie, Belle's Magical World, Fifi even thinks Lumiere and Belle are having an affair behind her back. Actually if anything is offensive with Fifi, I think it's the scene where LeFou is gleefully pulling out her feathers. I feel like that could be metaphorical for sexual assault, so if anyone shouldn't be represented, it would be LeFou imo. A lot of Lego female minifigs show cleavage or wear revealing clothing, particularly in the medieval sets. Even with Disney not allowing Slave Leia/Huttslayer Leia merchandise anymore, they still made her minifigure in the Sail Barge set. Jasmine's blue outfit is her main outfit she always wears. She only seduces Jafar at the end to trick him into not noticing Aladdin and her red slave outfit is pretty much identical to her blue outfit but without the shoulder straps. I don't care for the minidoll sets either. I only paid attention to the BATB minidoll sets because of the enchanted objects as I would use BL to get the objects to populate my Disney castle. That's nice to hear :) I'm glad Lego is catering to Disney fans now, even if I feel their sets and minifigs tend to be hit or miss.
  19. I think it could still go either way. I remember even with Gringotts, it took so long for that set to be officially confirmed that many people thought Lego had given up on expanding the D2C Diagon Alley set. And there was still speculation when we knew the set would be made if it would tie-in or not since many thought it had been too many years since the last set. I do know that I probably won't be interested in a playline version that doesn't connect to the D2C set. I think Lego's best bet would be to start off with a D2C version of Knockturn Alley and then release a playline version later on like they did with WWW. I can see Gringotts getting a playline version in a few years as well.
  20. What documentary is that? I'm a female viewer who loves Disney and I've never heard of anyone even talk about Fifi and Lumiere's little romp behind the curtains. This is the first I've heard of anyone finding that offensive. As pointed out, she's been included in other sets before as a featherduster. Her human form only has the one scene posted below, but she's the only other character depicted as a human besides the main four of Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, and Chip. Oh and Sultan the footstool in his dog form. The human versions of the objects are the ones that are unlikely to ever appear anywhere else, outside of the actual castle set. LeFou and Maurice could still show up in a set for Belle's cottage or a village set in general. I think if they're including a transformation for the Beast into the prince, it would be nice to have the same option for all the enchanted objects, for anyone who wants to play out the happily ever after scenario. And personally I always found LeFou annoying. And Maurice is nice but so far Disney hasn't really made minifigs for any of the father characters or villain sidekicks. The previous BATB sets tend to feature most of the objects including Wardrobe, Sultan the footstool, Fifi the featherduster, and also Chef Bouche the kitchen stove. I'd expect to see Chef Bouche because he's brickbuilt in the new Disney castle so it would be weird to have him there but not in the actual castle themed to BATB. Hopefully we can also see Chapeau the coat rack. I don't think he's been in any of the BATB sets so far but he'd be an easy make.
  21. I still think Lego should have gone with a Spider-Man CMF series based on all the movies. Featuring characters from the Sam Raimi films and the ASM movies too, now that we know only Spider-Man 2 is getting a set. I think that would hold more mass appeal than the rather niche characters and designs included in this upcoming CMF. I agree with Mandolarianknight that it's unlikely. Only Iceman had a chance with the Spider-Man connection. There are several X-Men characters who have been part of the Avengers over the years in the comics, including Sunspot, but considering we haven't gotten comic versions of so many iconic Avengers, it's unlikely we'd get Sunspot over them.
  22. Thank you both. I did what you guys recommended by adding more pressure and it clicked and fits perfectly now. That's all true. I still hope we can get at least a Knockturn Alley since the Diagon Alley set does tease that as a possible connection behind WWW. Especially since it's home to the Vanishing Cabinet which is rather a plot important detail.
  23. Pity. I guess it was too good to be true since we know there's no upcoming X-Men sets or any CMF that could feature new X-Men characters.
  24. Hopefully also Fifi/Babette the featherduster. She's the only other character we see in human form besides the four you listed. But I agree, it's unlikely but I'd honestly rather have human form minifigs for the objects than LeFou or Maurice. Another option would be the Beast's carriage/palanquin that's used to carry Maurice away from the castle and back to the village. I think if he had a pair of animal legs, then those legs would be the ones pictured instead of what we got. It seems like Lego wants a minifig that only needs to have the tail removed and a headswap to transform him from Beast to prince. I also think the tail should have been given the Robin Hood treatment where the front and sides are colored to match his torso. Right now there's an odd thin line of brown breaking up his design.
  25. I wonder why they gave it connection points then. That's what I thought but I wasn't sure. I don't think most people associate the Leaky Cauldron with a pub so much as they view it as an inn and the entrance to Diagon Alley anyway. BTW for anyone who has the troll from the Great Hall set, is his club supposed to not really fit in his hand and fall out? Because my troll's club doesn't fit in his hand at all.
