  1. I really like that Nani got dual molded arms. I honestly didn't expect Lego would do that. I remember her top being more orange than pink though. I don't like how they repeated Pocahontas' hair for her. They have completely different hairstyles. I'm glad they gave Nani printing but I have no idea what's going on with her legs. I don't remember her wearing blue socks for example. It's interesting that Lilo is different from her previous minifig. She has legs with printed on shoes now instead of a skirt piece and they gave her a new hairpiece. But I don't think this one suits her anymore than the old Pocahontas one did. Honestly, she doesn't really resemble Lilo to me. David looks nice although as I expected, he doesn't have dual molded legs. I like the inclusion of his fire sticks though. The house is okay looking. Better than I expected but still on the smaller side. I like the inclusion of the record player, the Ugly Duckling book, Lilo's picture of her parents (with the Stitch insert from the end), Stitch's shoebox bed, and also the Thanksgiving photo. I guess if we couldn't get Jumba and Pleakley, it's nice that the photo does feature them. I think I also see the picture Lilo draws for the social worker visit of her being left alone at home. I have mixed feelings as well. I was expecting the bare minimum so in some ways, the set has exceeded my expectations but there are lots of things I wanted which didn't happen. I agree that the house not being built above ground makes it look more generic and not like the real house. That's such a defining characteristic of the house from the movie that its loss is really felt here. It reminds me of how Lego really eliminated most of the steps leading to Jack Skellington's house as well. Dual molded legs should have been a must for Nani and David. And especially for Lilo's arms. I think I'm the only one who's been complaining about how Lego isn't giving Lilo sleeves so I'm happy to see somebody else concur. Yes, first they used it for Lilo in the Target exclusive set and now they've given it to Nani. That hairpiece is being passed around to just about everyone now. They didn't include the tattoo for David right? That's a pity. They gave Pocahontas one in the CMF so they could have given David one too.
  2. I think Nani will probably wear that orange t-shirt too. But I'm remembering that when Lego made the Harry minifig from the Second Task set, they didn't bother giving him shorts. They just gave him plain black legs. And Harry is the lead of that whole theme whereas Nani and David are both minor characters, so if Harry couldn't get dual molded legs to portray his shorts, I don't think we'll see Nani and David get the extra treatment.
  3. Nani and David wear shorts in the movie. And Nani wears a short-sleeved shirt. But I'm guessing Lego wouldn't be making dual molded legs or arms for either of them, especially when they didn't bother for Lilo.
  4. I didn't expect Jumba and Pleakley so I'm just happy that David and Cobra Bubbles are being included. Glad the pickle jar is being referenced. Plus a spaceship. Hopefully Lilo will get dual molded arms now.
  5. I have seen those. But the last Sherlock Holmes film that RDJ did was way back in 2011. That was before even the Avengers came out. He was rather lucky that those Sherlock Holmes movies came out at the same time as his Iron Man movies so the popularity of both boosted him. He hasn't had that box office success on his own name since Endgame. Which to be fair, isn't just exclusive to him but most actors now since there are barely any genuine stars left. Even Harrison Ford's recent movies have all flopped, whether Blade Runner 2049, Indiana Jones, Call of the Wild, etc. There's a reason he's doing Marvel now as well because his movies aren't working anymore, even if BNW will probably be as big a dud at the box office as his last Indiana Jones.
  6. The Valentine's Day poster costumes do look retro but they're still not the costumes they wear from the comics. I think a lot of us wanted minifigs based on how they looked in the Lego Marvel Super Heroes game, with their classic blue/black costumes. I remember hearing a lot of people stocked up on Oswald minifigs specifically because he had the dual molded legs that were perfect for the FF if we got their classic costumes as minifigs. I'll have to wait and see what the final set looks like before deciding if I like the finished product or not. Frankly, based on how Lego treats most of their Marvel minifigs with little to no printing or dual molded legs, I'm not expecting much from the FF set. I would love a Torch minifig like that. That would be a day one purchase for me. We'll have to wait and see if we get the classic Surfer in the 616 Marvel Universe or not. With so many characters being packed in from so many movies and universes, there's no guarantee the Surfer will necessarily get a part. Especially if Galactus isn't involved in Doomsday and Secret Wars. But considering how often Doom has been obsessed with stealing the Surfer's powers, that hopefully bodes well for the Surfer appearing in one or both of those movies. I don't completely agree. While DC sets are mostly nonexistent now, Batman still gets special sets from time to time. And I believe Batman is getting an Arkham Asylum D2C set. If worst comes to worst and the MCU fails and Lego shutters the Marvel theme, we'll still get Spider-Man sets based on the comics. That sells too well. And the X-Men have gotten sets entirely based on X-Men '97 which is independent from the MCU. Lego had faith in them as a franchise so the MCU failing wouldn't affect X-Men sets. Like Spider-Man, we got X-Men sets way back when the Marvel theme first began that were entirely based on the comics rather than the movies. The only reason there was such a huge gap was because of the rights issues. I think Chris Evans isn't charismatic as an actor by himself but combined with his Captain America character, he does work and stands up as an equal foil to Downey Jr.'s Iron Man. I agree with you about Hemsworth though. I never cared for his Thor and all his films outside of Marvel have never worked. But that's been true for Chris Evans and even Robert Downey Jr. His Doctor Dolittle failed. Oppenheimer was a success but he had a supporting role in that and it had an all-star cast and Christopher Nolan. Many people said he agreed to return to Marvel because his films weren't working. From what I've read online, BNW feels a lot like the Falcon and Winter Soldier show. Basically part two to that.
  7. That's definitely part of the issue that we've never had a Silver Surfer minifig and assuming we even get one now for the FF set (and that's a big if), it won't be the Silver Surfer everyone was waiting for. It'll be a real slap in the face for the first Silver Surfer minifig to really be a different character. Falcon was basically just the sidekick. That was his situation in the comics as well until recently but according to readers, they did manage to make him into an all-rounder character. I've never read his stuff so I wouldn't know. But the MCU has failed to do that so far, even knowing in advance what was coming for him. I'm not a big Bucky fan but he's certainly been more interesting and probably has more recognition as a character. As a fan of Carol from the comics, I haven't been impressed with her MCU version. I actually like Brie Larson and was happy she got the role, especially after her Oscar-winning performance in Room, but her character's been a dud for me. Especially in the first Captain Marvel where I felt she had no personality or anything that makes her tick as a character. Part of the issue is that she's amnesiac until the very end of the film so we don't really get to see the real Captain Marvel until the climax of the movie. And then her scenes in Endgame were all written before Captain Marvel, so she's got no personality there either because they left her a blank slate on purpose so that her movie could flesh her out. That's two films where she's basically an enigma. Her sequel was the chance to finally help audiences get attached to the character (assuming it wasn't too late already), but instead the decision was to saddle her with two Disney+ characters and have the trio frolic around the galaxy and nobody is going to be interested in that, particularly with characters they don't know or care about. I wonder if the reason they didn't go with the more arrogant personality is because they already had Stephen Strange in that role to play the new Tony. Carol seemed like she was meant to be the new Steve in the Avengers dynamic. But of course, that's also an issue that if characters like Carol and Stephen were supposed to lead the next iteration of the Avengers, we haven't seen them interact at all. There's no relationship dynamic between all of these solo heroes so far.
  8. Oh okay, hopefully one of them is a Marvel one if the other one is indeed the Arkham Asylum.
  9. I don't think it's been posted in this thread yet but for any Disney fans who didn't check the Pirates section, apparently Lego Icons is making a Black Pearl set for Pirates of the Caribbean. I'm hoping we get some new minifigs like an updated Elizabeth Swann, Davy Jones, Barbossa, etc. The fact that Fortnite included Lego minifigs for Elizabeth, Davy Jones, Barbossa, and two versions of Jack can't be a coincidence.
  10. I think Lego was banking on the Captain America title, Red Hulk, and not expecting the film to be as DOA as it probably will be especially after multiple rounds of reshoots that still haven't reached any positive audience reactions. The outcome of BNW will probably affect the fate of future Lego MCU sets. Falcon becoming the new Cap in the comics was originally also controversial but I think readers grew to accept him and even liked him in the role. The problem is that in the movies, Anthony Mackie has never been that beloved or charismatic an actor to headline this legacy character. There's no audience interest or love for him in the role. That didn't happen after the Falcon and Winter Soldier series, which was created specifically to prepare audiences for Falcon in this role, and it doesn't sound like BNW will achieve that either. Marvel realized they were losing their original actors and thought they could introduce a new generation of younger actors that could last another 10-15 years in these roles but most of them haven't resonated. And ironically enough, saddling Captain Marvel with two spinoff characters, when she was barely a fully formulated character herself, probably also caused her decline as well. Meanwhile Lego is still charging outrageous prices for that Marvels set lol. Based on how they've failed to make Blade over and over and it's been in development hell, I'm guessing all the more mature characters are just too tricky to bring into the MCU. We know they're working hard on bringing in the X-Men as a last chance to bring back new energy into this flagging franchise. That might be good for more Lego X-Men sets but based on the quality of the MCU these days, I don't know if I trust them with any X-Men movies. That franchise may fail to take off and damage the brand. It could be a case like in The Flash movie where those actors have a few seconds of cameos and that's all. Like Henry Cavill in Deadpool and Wolverine. Depending on who they manage to bring back. There were lots of rumors about the X-Men cast in D&W and then the majority of those rumored actors never ended up in the film. Not to mention the alleged stunt castings like Taylor Swift as Dazzler. Although maybe we'll still get a Dazzler minifigure considering one version of her was in that Lego Marvel film and another version was an easter egg in the X-Mansion. I'm not sure. But wasn't it confirmed some pages back that we aren't getting a Marvel D2C this year?
  11. I think he always said he'd be back but not in a Captain America movie but in his own movie. I always figured Marvel would bring him back especially if they couldn't get Robert Downey Jr. And the only thing safer than bringing back one is bringing back both of them. A lot of people want to see Tobey Maguire interact with Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans interact with Hugh Jackman. Hugh Jackman also used to say he'd only play Wolverine again if he could join the MCU and work alongside those actors. Punisher debuted in Spider-Man as one of his enemies. I don't remember Blade having much of a connection to Spider-Man in the comics, although he was playable in a Spider-Man video game (Friend or Foe). I think he was added specifically because he was considered a mature rated-R character who couldn't get into a regular playline set so a D2C set was the only chance for him, like with Punisher and Daredevil. Daredevil and Spider-Man have long been allies and guest-starred in each other's books. Not to mention that Ben Urich crossed back and forth between the Spider-Man and Daredevil books so Ben Urich's inclusion makes it even more obvious to use Daredevil. Blade was probably the biggest reach out of those three rated-R characters but I think he works. And by that logic, it wouldn't be that much of a stretch to include Bullseye in an Oscorp set, especially if it features the Kingpin.
  12. Good point, it's the double standard about how only certain characters should be recast but not ones who are women or minorities already. If a male or white character is recast, the claim is that his gender or the character being white had nothing to do with their story and can be easily changed without altering the character. But if the character is originally female or a minority, then it's always argued that being female or part of another culture is an intrinsic part of that character's story and would warp the character beyond recognition. With Silver Surfer, I think there's been more backlash than usual because of the fact that he's such an iconic Marvel character and one of Stan and Jack's personal creations. Unlike other Marvel characters, we've only had one cinematic iteration of him which was cut short when the first Fantastic Four film series ended and they never made a Silver Surfer spinoff movie like promised. Almost two decades later, we finally got the chance to give the Surfer another chance but they had to mess it up. And what's even weirder is how they took his rather one-dimensional love interest, with only a handful of appearances in the comics, and gave her the title. She's not even part of his original origin and was a retcon. The Silver Surfer is not some mantle that gets passed down onto multiple characters. There are multiple heralds of Galactus, (as we saw with Lego Terrax in that latest Lego Marvel movie) but only one was the Silver Surfer. So now we might be getting the FF as Lego minifigs but we won't be getting the Silver Surfer. The real one anyway. And I'm not even sure if the female one will get a minifig since Lego seems very careful now about only producing a certain amount of new characters from the MCU movies. Yeah, I don't like the same MCU suits over and over. I'm sick of Hawkeye in that black suit and want him in his purple cowl again. Or Black Widow with actual red hair and Thor in his helmet. I don't mind MCU versions of Deadpool, Wolverine, Punisher, and Daredevil because we do have comic versions of them already. There should be options for the MCU fans to get MCU minifigs for them. Just as the MCU characters should have comic counterpart minifigs available as well. Kingpin, Bullseye, and Elektra would all be great. Since Kingpin was originally Spider-Man's enemy, and Elektra popped up in the Ultimate Spider-Man comics, I do think there would be room for all three in an Oscorp set. Not just Thunderbolts but also Brave New World. If any film can match the disaster that was The Marvels, it seems to be BNW especially after how many expensive reshoots that film has gone through already. There's just no interest in a Captain America movie without Steve Rogers. And you can see that Marvel is backpedaling now, hence casting Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. I didn't think it was possible for any MCU movie to tank as much as The Marvels did. The box office was already declining for each successive MCU movie like Thor: Love and Thunder and Quantumania but The Marvels ended up becoming the biggest box office flop of all time. So the writing's been on the wall for a while now. The DCEU has completely failed to take off. Joker 2 was a disaster as well. We have an Avengers movie coming up but we have no idea who's even an Avenger.
  13. Thanks for explaining. I googled it but couldn't find anything because I assumed that Hailee had issued a public statement against him, so I wasn't sure if I was missing something or not. That is a little skeevy if it's happened twice. Tbh I probably won't buy the set if it's MCU-based. I generally only buy the comic sets and my attachment is to the comic book FF. I'd like a comic-book FF team to match the X-Men minifigs and Daily Bugle Spider-Man characters. An MCU Torch will stand out if you put him next to the Daily Bugle Spider-Man, Firestar, or X-Mansion's Iceman. And I have little interest in the MCU, especially future MCU movies, including the FF movie after the Silver Surfer gender swap. I say this as a woman btw before I get accused of misogyny by anyone. Disney/Marvel needs to stop these bizarre recastings.
  14. I'm so confused. Who is this in reference to and what happened?
  15. I don't see it being Avengers Mansion because it directly competes with both the Avengers Tower and the X-Mansion.
  16. Colossus may be tall but he still has normal human proportions unlike the Avatar characters or Jack Skellington. Those super long legs and arms would look really disproportionate on him, especially as he isn't supposed to look alien or really skinny. As for the Thing, I'm in the bigfig camp. He looks superb in the Lego Marvel Super Heroes game and he's basically the same build as the Hulk.
  17. The set does look nice. But yeah, way too overpriced. No reason it should cost more than $30.
  18. Didn't the rumor say that the CMF would be based on the Sony films? Not necessarily just the animated movies then, there's a chance this CMF could also focus on the Sam Raimi trilogy and ASM movies?
  19. That's true. As much as it would be nice to see some characters who haven't had minifig depiction yet (a comic accurate Electro), my guess is that any such comic-based CMF would focus on all the Spider-Man characters we've already had dozens of depictions of. Lego can't seem to get past Venom and Green Goblin. I think a few minifigures from the Spider-Verse movies would make sense, especially since we're getting sets from the movies now. But a whole series with 12 minifigures dedicated to just those two movies seems like overkill. If we're really getting a CMF series based on the Sony films in general, I think it would be ideal to do about 4 minifigures from each franchise/universe. 4 from Spider-Verse, 4 from the Saimi Raimi films, and 4 from the ASM films. Maybe make it 3 each instead so that the last 3 can be from the MCU movies (although I think those are already properly represented in minifigure form and don't need anymore).
  20. I wouldn't mind a Spider-Man CMF series but I have zero interest in one based on the animated movies. Would have liked one based on the comics, since so many classic Spider-Man characters still don't have minifig representation, or one based on the Sam Raimi and ASM movies. This doesn't surprise me though because Marvel's Disney+ show offering has been so meager lately that I really didn't think another CMF series would be justified. Even Lego seems to realize that a standalone Spider-Man series would sell better. Yes! This is what I'd like to see. So many of the minifigures from the first two movies deserve to be remade. Like Green Goblin, Harry Osborn, and MJ in her red Chinese dress. Or maybe MJ in her wedding dress from SM2 since that would be new. Would also like to see black suit Spider-Man from SM3 and Harry as the New Goblin. Also Gwen Stacy, Eddie Brock, Eddie as Venom, etc.
  21. That's a nice surprise. Hope we can see more Looney Tunes sets, particularly with minifigures.
  22. That's a pity that it'll be a one-off. I thought with the popularity of the movies and the live-action remake, that they'd go the route of having a whole theme but I guess not. Maybe they want to wait to see if the single set sells well enough to justify making more.
  23. Lucifer looks slightly less cartoony than his original figure so I might pick up this set once clearer pics come out. This mold suits his size better for sure. Also looks like Cinderella has the darker blonde hairpiece from the 2025 polybag. EDIT: I just read this set is $80! That's insane for its size. It should be half the price. If I like Lucifer, I'll just BL him.
  24. Looking forward to the Goddess of Thunder Storm minifigure. At least that's another X-Men minifig we can expect on top of whoever gets selected from X-Men '97.
  25. That would be nice although if they didn't make legacy sets for the release of Incredibles 2, I'm not sure if they'll do it for Incredibles 3. What I always found rather jarring was that even for Incredibles 2, they never bothered to make a minifig of Elastigirl in her new silver costume. Even though that's her new costume and what she wears during the helicopter scene but the Lego set keeps her in the classic red. I also liked their vacation minifigs from the Lego game. Would love to see those in a set.
