Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

I'd like to see some of those Marvel minifigs be made physically like Spider-Woman, Mary Jane Watson, Dark Phoenix, Colossus, Jubilee, and Cable. And some characters, like Rogue, Gambit, and Cyclops, could use that extra level of detail and printing. -

It's really odd we never got Golden Age Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl. Would love to see minifigs of them in their original costumes, since we got those in the Lego Incredibles game. -

I don't feel bad we're not getting a modular next year. DC deserves it after such a long dry season. This confirms what I always expected that they won't release a Baxter Building immediately after one FF movie. I think 2026 could go to Oscorp Tower since the Daily Bugle will have retired by then. -

Yes, Pryde of the X-Men was supposed to be its own series but it got a lot of negative reactions. Kitty, being the POV character of Pryde of the X-Men, got the most backlash so Marvel put a ban on her when they were making the 90s show. She wasn't allowed to be used so no one would associate the 90s show with Pryde of the X-Men's failure. I think the 90s X-Men showrunners did confirm that by later seasons, that ban was lifted and they could technically have used Kitty if they wanted. But by that point, there was nothing she could actually add to the show since Jubilee was already the POV character so they never bothered to include Kitty. I think people don't realize how insignificant Kitty had become in the 90s, after basically a whole decade languishing in spinoff Excalibur away from the central X-Men books. Excalibur rarely got included in all the major X-Men crossovers of that era so that didn't help. As I said in my previous post/essay, Nightcrawler still had a lot more iconic status despite also languishing in Excalibur for that same whole period with Kitty. The best example of this is UXM #300, as Marvel had Nightcrawler guest-star in this anniversary issue. It was especially significant because this was Nightcrawler's first appearance in the flagship X-Men book since he left the team way back during the FOTM era (circa issue #225, so he hadn't appeared in the book for about 75 issues). It's pretty telling that Marvel included Nightcrawler for the X-Men's 300th issue but didn't bother including Kitty, even though she could just as easily have shown up with Nightcrawler since they were both on Excalibur together. In fact, Kitty's last appearance in UXM was also with Kurt during FOTM, so they had both been absent from the flagship title for the same length of time but Marvel felt only Nightcrawler was necessary for the 300th issue, not Kitty. She was not deemed as central to the X-Men's mythos, whereas there was a need to bring back Nightcrawler to reunite him on-panel with Wolverine, Storm, and Colossus. When she was created, she was one of the first openly Jewish characters. But since that time, more popular characters have since been retconned as being Jewish like Magneto and the Thing (in his case maybe not so much a retcon as much as a belated reveal decades in the waiting). That's basically how I feel. I consider her an A-list X-Man but at the tail-end of the A-list X-Men members when it comes to minifigure treatment. I really do believe the lack of codename and costume hurt her here. She has no brand the way the other X-Men do, whether Colossus, Gambit, Psylocke, Angel, etc. It should also be noted that when Marvel used to release posters and merchandise of their characters in the 2000s, they included all the major X-Men except for Kitty. She was never one of the clipart characters, to give you two examples below. They would regularly showcase Wolverine, Storm, Phoenix, Cyclops, Beast, Angel, Iceman, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Rogue, Gambit, and Psylocke but that was it. Kitty was never included. That was the 2000s so a lot has changed since then in terms of the characters that Marvel regularly promotes, particularly the ones who took off in the MCU (GOTG, Ms. Marvel becoming Captain Marvel, Miles Morales, etc.), but the X-Men have basically been in limbo since the MCU started so their status quo is still similar to what's depicted below. Lol I'm known for my "long essays" on other forums. Agreed. Honestly, if we get a Sentinel standalone set, I think we'll just get recycled figures from the X-Mansion as much as I hate to think it. I'm not positive we would get a single new minifig. I think Lego feels they have completed their quota for X-Men characters as of now. They'll wait to see if there's demand for more, or they'll wait until the next X-Men representation, whether it's another season of the show or the MCU movies. -

X-Men Evolution never had the same pop culture impact of the 90s show. I say this as someone who grew up with it myself, more than the 90s show. And in fact, my favorite portrayal of Kitty was from X-Men Evolution. What I've read is that her character was popular enough in the show to inspire her getting a bigger role in X-Men: The Last Stand so X-Men Evolution did a lot to boost Kitty's status, but at the end of the day, the show is not really a definitive part of the X-Men in pop culture. Just look at the MCU portrayal. There's a reason the MCU is focusing on taking the OG FoX-Men cast (Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Kelsey Grammer, etc.) but mixing them with 90s aesthetics while retaining some of the movie's aesthetics. It's because for the general public, they know the X-Men from those Fox movies and the 90s show. Evolution is nowhere close to that level, which is why the MCU isn't taking any influence from Evolution. The theme song isn't remembered like the 90s show theme. There's a reason Disney chose to relaunch the X-Men by returning to the 90s show rather than Evolution, because the former has a place in pop culture unlike the latter. WATXM was always a niche show. That one never took off and has even less of an online fandom than X-Men Evolution. In the first two X-Men movies, Kitty's really just a cameo. And played by a different actress in both of those compared to the Elliot Page portrayal in The Last Stand and DOFP. I don't think they ever knew what to do with Kitty in the movies, outside of giving Rogue angst. They gave her Rachel's role in DOFP (online I've read that Rachel was supposed to be in the movie but it became too confusing to explain her existence with both Scott and Jean dead) but Wolverine got her role as the main character. Just as Bishop got her role in the 90s show. So Kitty's signature storyline, DOFP, ended up going to two different characters in the most well known media portrayals. In fact, Bishop getting Kitty's role in the 90s show is arguably what got him a side role in DOFP. Another thing to keep in mind, to show you how low Kitty's stock dropped after the 90s (both not being part of the Jim Lee lineup and not being part of the 90s show), is the movie rosters for different drafts of the first X-Men movie. When it comes to Wolverine's young female sidekick, Kitty originated that role in the comics. But it was Jubilee who was in the early drafts for the movie taking the role that Rogue ended up getting. One version of the X-Men movie script basically had the entire 90s team lineup minus Rogue. What I've heard online is that Jubilee being replaced by Rogue was a last minute change because movie execs didn't realize Jubilee was Chinese and felt it was more marketable to use Rogue as she's white. There was one X-Men movie draft that featured Kitty as part of the main team and in the POV young heroine role. That was a James Cameron draft for the movie written in the late 80s. That's because this was following up on the momentum of Kitty being part of Claremont's X-Men, but as the 90s came and Kitty became further and further detached from the X-Men, it was Jubilee and then Rogue who took that role. So it's pretty revealing that Kitty only had a main role in the film drafts before the 90s and never again afterwards. And I agree with you that Jubilee's sole claim to fame has always been the 90s show. She's had a bit of a revival from X-Men '97 to keep her relevant and not much else, but that shows how iconic the Jim Lee 90s X-Men lineup is (whether from the show or the comics) that Jubilee remains a part of the X-Men's identity in pop culture. The X-Mansion set could have easily given us some easter eggs for Kitty (I would have liked Kurt's Bamf doll from Kitty's fairy tale given to Illyana or maybe Lockheed) but they didn't. They included easter eggs for Jubilee though with her bubble gum, plus her face in the GWP. The GWP is explicitly themed on the movies rather than the 90s show, and Kitty had a bigger role in the movies than Jubilee, but Jubilee was still used. The X-Mansion is mostly themed from the 90s show but it lacks the X-Men '97 logo and the inclusion of Iceman plus the Dazzler poster and other easter eggs from the movie (Xavier and Magneto's portrait, Magneto's coin, the Statue of Liberty) show that the X-Mansion ultimately took elements from all the major X-Men media. So the fact that Jubilee was referenced in both sets that aren't explicitly themed to the 90s show but Kitty wasn't, gives us an idea. That being said, I would like to see Kitty get a minifigure because she's a classic character on the team. But I don't think she's one who is guaranteed to get one anytime soon, especially based on how slowly Lego gives us X-Men characters. The lack of an iconic costume and codename probably don't help either. Going back to Psylocke as an example, very few people know or care about her as Betsy Braddock in pop culture. What people recognize is the Psylocke mantle tied in with the ninja costume. This is why Psylocke keeps appearing in video games and so much merchandise like action figures and statues. She's an iconic brand and that gives her a leg up on Kitty, even if Psylocke unfortunately isn't treated like an actual character. Kitty's best bet to becoming a minifigure might not be waiting for more comic characters to be created, but if she ends up in the MCU X-Men movies as a lead character. Because right now, it looks like future X-Men comic minifigs will probably be Nightcrawler and Jubilee. These are the two I keep hearing mentioned by virtually everyone online (YouTube, Instagram, Reddit, etc.) and who got the most easter egg references so the most demand or expectations seem to be for them. After that, I've seen Angel, Colossus, Cable, and Psylocke mentioned in that order. I honestly haven't heard many people online ask about Kitty. Not to the extent of the other names I listed and that's not including villains like Mystique, Sabretooth, and Mr. Sinister. -

In terms of pop culture though, Juggernaut is still pretty iconic and popular. Not to mention his viral meme from The Last Stand. Even Sabretooth was just a silent henchman in X-Men and the latest Deadpool movie. His one role as a major villain in the movies was in Wolverine Origins and nobody wants to remember that. But Sabretooth is the Venom to Wolverine, and in the 90s, it was Gambit, Sabretooth, and Venom who were some of the most popular Marvel characters and their first appearance issues are worth a ton. So film exposure is only one factor because Juggernaut frequently tops the list of beloved Marvel villains along with Sabretooth. When people think of iconic X-Men villains, it's usually Magneto, Mystique, Sabretooth, Juggernaut, and the Sentinels who come to mind first. I think the 90s Jim Lee characters are the most likely to be made. Angel/Archangel, Colossus, Psylocke, Jubilee, and Cable. Nightcrawler wasn't part of the 90s era but he's a classic X-Men character associated with the All-New All-Different era, the movies, and now X-Men '97. Even though he missed out on the 90s Blue/Gold team era, he was too iconic to be forgotten. You can still find him in group shots of the X-Men from the 90s, included simply because of his popularity and iconic status. Even the TAS DVDs would feature him on the covers despite only appearing in 2 episodes from the entire show. Kitty never had that same level of status. She came after the ANAD era so wasn't grouped with Wolverine, Storm, Nightcrawler, and Colossus. She wasn't a member of the O5. The 80s X-Men characters who joined the team who got the most attention were the ones who stuck around for the 90s lineup like Rogue, Psylocke, and Jubilee. Kitty never had exposure in the 90s show and her role was never big enough in the movies to catch on. Her popularity comes from the generation of mostly male comic book readers who grew up with her in the 80s, like Joss Whedon's generation. She hasn't had much longevity beyond that in other media or pop culture. Psylocke is more iconic even if it's just because of her bathing suit costume. Captain Marvel, She-Hulk, and Ms. Marvel were all heroines who Marvel was heavily pushing in the comics and merchandise. Hence the exposure in lots of media plus their own ongoing books over and over. Their prevalence before the MCU was in part to prepare the audience for their roles in the MCU. It's around the time Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew) was sidelined because of the Sony rights issues and because Spider-Gwen overtook her in popularity with her design, hence why we have so many Gwen minifigs today and only one SDCC Jessica from the period when she was popular. -

A Wolverized Venomarine would need a minifigure and what's more perfect than a Venomized Wolverine. The show was only a minor hit on Disney+. It did well for an animated show but didn't come close to the reach of the live-action Disney+ shows. I think even the least watched live-action Disney+ shows (like Echo) had more viewership than X-Men '97. The age of Saturday morning cartoons is over. The original 90s show was iconic and that's why for the general public, they identify the X-Men either from the Fox movies (particularly the original trilogy) or the 90s show. And frankly, X-Men '97 was more geared towards adults and nostalgic fans. The kids who watched it watched it because their parents who were fans of the original were watching it with them. It's not a kid-friendly show that could attract a new generation the way the original show did. '97 featured way more adult themes, serialized storytelling, and compressed a lot of the comic book continuity into 10 episodes. If you're new to the X-Men and watching this show as an intro, you won't really feel connected to the characters because it depends on you already knowing them. This is especially why kids shows these days try to avoid serialized storytelling. -

Not to mention those First Class movies had her pretty much exclusively called Raven instead of Mystique. Despite the original films having Mystique repudiate her "slave name" and refuse to answer by it. And JLaw refused to wear the full body makeup after First Class, which means in all those movies she's rarely ever in blue form except for a select few scenes. Otherwise, she's always in her human form. I think the issue with Daredevil, Punisher, and Blade is what the Lego Designers said before that these characters are considered too mature to be featured in regular sets. The Daily Bugle set could feature them because there were so many characters that they could essentially slip these three unnoticed and their maturity levels are cancelled out by the rest of that vast roster. But that's why we haven't seen Daredevil or Punisher recycled in more baseline sets because Lego has a strict rule against featuring them in sets that kids could more regularly buy. For Elektra, Bullseye, and Kingpin, I'm guessing we'd have to wait for another D2C set like Oscorp or Fisk Tower. And my personal guess is that if Daredevil is considered too mature to feature outside of big D2C sets, that rule will probably apply to Deadpool as well. The showrunner for X-Men '97 also confirmed that Marvel specifically told him Deadpool was off-limits to appear in the show. He wasn't allowed to be referenced or even make a cameo. So between Marvel refusing to let Deadpool appear in X-Men '97 and Lego not wanting rated-R characters in their Marvel sets, that puts the odds against Deadpool. Notice that Deadpool doesn't have any easter eggs in the X-Mansion set. Maybe Marvel and Lego will loosen up on their rules by the time of the Secret Wars movie. That's because Mystique wasn't treated as a villain outside of the original X-Men trilogy. There's a reason most X-Men fans hated the overemphasis on her in the First Class films, particularly as the link between Magneto and Xavier. But yes, she's very iconic and should hopefully appear in a set. Mystique, Sabretooth, and Juggernaut are all striking omissions considering how popular and iconic they are as villains. The easter egg references to Apocalypse and Mr. Sinister at least imply they could be likely candidates in the future. I'm not expecting Bastion since he never really took off despite being the big bad of X-Men '97. Hopefully more of the minor Brotherhood members like Blob, Pyro, Toad, Avalanche, Destiny, etc. can appear too. Pyro even has an easter egg reference in the X-Mansion set, plus a prominent role in the movies so he's one of the more recognizable X-Men villains. -

Yes, a remake of the chopper showdown set would make perfect sense. Something that brings Deadpool and Wolverine in the same set together. They can swap out Magneto for a new villain or two, like Sabretooth. I can maybe see Deadpool popping up in a Spider-Man set as well. the Spider-Man: Web of Shadows game actually featured a Venomized Wolverine. -

A Madripoor set for Wolverine. Since Madripoor has shown up in the MCU and will be a major setting in the upcoming Wolverine video game. Could include Sabretooth, Mystique, Lady Deathstrike, or Omega Red as a villain. Similarly, they could do a Wolverine set based in Japan with ninjas and the Silver Samurai. Using a basic dojo as the backdrop. Asteroid M is a major location. Could easily feature a few X-Men, Magneto, and some Brotherhood characters. And even the first X-Men set was just a basic helicopter belonging to Deadpool. They could just include some generic vehicles like that, whether a cycle, plane, car, etc. themed to whichever character they'd want to include. -

I agree, I really liked the design of those old buildable figures. They actually looked like minifigures, just zoomed in. The new Giant-Man looks awful compared to the old man. There's nothing about him that even remotely resembles a Lego minifig. I'm also hoping Galactus is styled in the old blocky way. He's not supposed to be a slender character anyway considering how bulky his armor is. I agree with you on your criticism on the minifigures. But be careful! Apparently anyone here who dares to say anything critical about the minifigures isn't a true Lego fan and should seek another hobby. Then the posts starting coming in from the defenders and shills to keep quiet and censor yourself. How if we were true Lego fans, we wouldn't complain and should be thankful for the scraps we get no matter the inflated prices or low quality. I don't follow this theme but I've always been impressed by the actual minifigs, sets, and the level of quality that goes into the new molds made for this theme. If I had more disposable income, I'd probably collect some of these sets because they're quite creative. But I do think the fact that Dreamzzz is a completely new theme, not based on any existing franchise or IP, means it'll be a niche theme for most people and never really catch on. Especially going by what you're saying that the sets aren't selling. I think most kids or families will probably opt for a theme they're more familiar with, like Marvel, Star Wars, or Harry Potter than something brand-new they're not familiar with. I'm glad you liked the set. And it is nice that we've gone from having only a handful of X-Men minifigs, including the SDCC exclusive Phoenix that basically nobody has, to having a full lineup of characters. Even if the wide majority of the new minifigs really need some improvements. I include Firestar in this because even in the Daily Bugle set, she felt incomplete to me without dual molded legs to represent her red boots. Her arms could arguably be dual molded as well to portray her gloves. I never got the first Blackbird so I'm glad to hear that the new one is considered superior to the original in terms of design. I do wish it was larger to accommodate for all the new X-Men minifigs but there are some MOCs that can fit about 10 minifigures inside. I think we X-Men fans are used to slim pickings from Lego so we'd be content with even just a standalone Sentinel set or a few more minifigs in the CMF series. Based on the show's success and all the fan demand, I think we'll at least get Jubilee, Nightcrawler, and Cable in the next CMF series. Maybe if we're lucky, we can get an additional character or two like Mr. Sinister, the Goblin Queen, Bastion, Forge, or Sunspot. We definitely need a new villain besides Magneto. The rumors were saying that Lego is waiting to see how the X-Mansion set sells before making new X-Men sets. So it may be a long wait. But representation in the next CMF series is likely, especially considering that Marvel doesn't have many more shows they can use for material. -

Wish was more Lego making sets for a new release, which they typically do. After how badly the film and its merch did, I can see Lego skipping future new Disney releases like how they skipped Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. The clamshell I heard was more Disney than Lego. Disney was trying very hard to push that particular film. That's good to hear. With the Lego Ideas Pixar set approved, I wonder if we might get some minifigs like Merida. Tell us what you think about it. It's one of my fav sets. -

Pocahontas is on a much different level than Raya. Pocahontas is associated with the 90s era, one of Disney's most prolific. To this day, that film has the largest premiere of all time. It has an Oscar-winning song which is still a Disney anthem. It's VHS was in the top 10 best-selling VHS tapes of all time, just a bit below Toy Story while beating Cinderella and Toy Story 2. Whatever its critical reception, it's still an iconic and beloved Disney film and the character a household name. In the early days of the DP franchise, there were sales figures for the original princesses and Pocahontas dolls sold better than Mulan. In the UK, there was a survey on most watched DP movies. Pocahontas was behind Snow White, Aladdin, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, and The Little Mermaid but beat all the rest, including Tangled and Brave. In fact, it was just slightly less watched than The Little Mermaid as seen here. https://www.statista.com/statistics/879811/most-popular-disney-princess-movies-in-great-britain/ Pocahontas is a Disney classic or semi-classic. Nobody says that about Raya. That film came and went with little fanfare and was promptly forgotten. There's no nostalgia for it since it doesn't come from one of Disney's big eras. And even in terms of characters, like I said above, Pocahontas is a household name. You can go all over the world and people have heard of Pocahontas. Raya is a completely new character and if you asked somebody on the street about her, they'd probably shrug their shoulders. These new Disney movies don't have the iconic status or goodwill the old ones did. Out of the new princesses, really only Rapunzel and the Frozen girls took off and Moana to a lesser extent, but she doesn't sell as much merch as they do. Like Pocahontas, she's not quite as marketable. Merida had a big boom of merch in the beginning but she somewhat fizzled out over the years. Brave is also considered one of Pixar's lesser films and never got the hype that Inside Out or even Coco did. Hence why it was never given a sequel or franchise. Her early status was more based on being the anti-princess but these days, Disney makes all their heroines out of the anti-princess mold so she doesn't stand out anymore. -

She's rarely marketed though. I've noticed they still mostly leave her out of merchandise and act like Moana was the last official princess. Similarly, I've noticed that Merida gets snubbed a lot now and barely shows up. Which may also explain why Merida is the only other official princess without a minifigure, despite having one in the Lego Incredibles 2 game. Disney has phased out princesses before. They did this with Esmeralda and Tinker Bell. In Tink's case it was so she could have her own franchise, the Disney Fairies, but that's also a good example of a completely defunct franchise now. -

And there's also the Magic Carpet. Besides the one hanging in the Disney Castle, there's also several variations in the Jasmine minidoll sets although I don't know how minifigure compatible they are. I did pick up the Maleficent dragon set. The Flora, Fauna, Merryweather tiles each come with an extra copy. So you can have one set in the actual set and another set for personal use. I've hung the second set in the Disney Castle bedroom. Considering what a disaster Wish was, I doubt we'll ever see minifigures made for that in the future. All the merch for the film is still heavily on clearance and not selling, one year later, so I doubt Disney/Lego will return to this property. I wouldn't be surprised if Raya doesn't get a minifigure either since that didn't do well either. -

Lucifer came in some of the Disney Princess minidoll sets for Cinderella. However, he's way to cartoony looking for my taste. If you don't mind the current Simba, then you might not mind Lucifer. Similarly Rajah came in some Jasmine minidoll sets. Both a cub version and a grown version but they're both also not what I consider very minifigure friendly. Out of the minidoll princess sets, I would recommend the enchanted objects from the Belle sets. They have a lot of different variations for Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, Chip, Wardrobe, and Chef Bouche, so you can find the versions you like best. Also Fifi the featherduster and Sultan the footstool were made. I picked up most of them on BL for fairly cheap prices. -

I don't think they'll make any Marvel movie rated-R outside of the Deadpool movies. Especially not now when the MCU is hemorrhaging viewers and they can't afford to restrict their audience. After the leaks about Captain America: Brave New World, it's likely we have another Marvels disaster on our hands so they'll need to maximize potential for Thunderbolts as much as possible. Maybe Blade was meant to be rated-R but considering that film has been in development hell for years and just got taken off the schedule, that's a further sign that Marvel won't be going that route for future films. -

Good point, I do remember lots of people talking about how in the HP theme, the characters always get plain blue legs to represent jeans but never any printing. That doesn't bother me very much but I can see why it would bother others. I don't think it's a problem with the Hogwarts uniforms though since they only wear plain black pants in the movies. Draco as well in his black suit wouldn't need any printing. But Bellatrix should have a skirt instead of legs, preferably with printing, but she generally doesn't get any skirt printing. I think if you ask fans of any theme, they'll all say they're disappointed with the final minifigs for whatever reason. I remember in the LOTR section as well, there were certain complaints about the minifigs and how they're not as good as the original ones. -
Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
JeanGreyForever replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Harry Potter minifigs have had some issues too, like the lack of trunks for Second Task Harry, but generally they're pretty good about accuracy and printing. The minifigs who are lacking in the HP theme are the exception rather than the norm. I've noticed with both Marvel and DC that there's a recurring trend with using generic legs. Captain America is a good example, as he pretty much never comes with dual molded legs. And that seems to be the case for all the Marvel characters. The female characters all get the same generic hairpiece. Julia Carpenter is just the latest in a long line to reuse this hair. Rogue was the worst offender. I don't follow the Star Wars theme anymore but I know that Star Wars fans are very picky and often not pleased with the minifigs they get. After seeing the recent Slave Leia in the Sail Barge set, I can see why they're so upset. The one time that dual molded legs weren't necessary, they give Leia those making her look like she's wearing shorts. Just such a bizarre choice that I can only guess was done to cover her up. Disney's had an issue recently with the lack of molding and printing as well. Geppetto was given basic black legs, which is one of the reasons I would have preferred he showed up in a CMF series where he could get actual molding/printing. Lilo lacks dual molded arms to portray her sleeves (like Bishop in the X-Mansion set). Jack Skellington doesn't have side printing on his legs or arms like his original minifigure did. Lock, Shock, and Barrell were about as generic as you could get in terms of minifigures. So I don't know why Harry Potter gets the extra attention over the rest of these themes. Maybe because most of the characters wear the identical school uniforms so they have more of a budget for new figures as they only pop up in some sets. Maybe it was a translation issue since I know English is not your first language. But in the past, you've made critical comments about anyone who dared to note that Lego has cheaped out on some of the minifigs, particularly when the X-Mansion set was revealed. I don't know why you assume that someone can't or shouldn't be a Lego fan just because they're willing to note when Lego cuts corners. About 90% of the comments on social media were critical about the minifigs, whether it was Gambit or Rogue or Cyclops or especially Xavier. So it's not like we are an extreme minority. When Jean's minifigure came out, people were not upset about the lack of leg printing because she doesn't really need it. Some of the other X-Men characters certainly do though and it doesn't make us less dedicated fans for pointing this out. That's all well and good but Lego today is not the Lego from years or even decades ago. Lego has advanced over time and people's tastes are allowed to evolve as well. I would not want to go back to the original Luke Skywalker minifig with his generic hairpiece shared with Han Solo or Princess Leia with legs instead of a skirt. Or even a Snape with his glow-in-the-dark head. Those minifigs were wonderful when they came out but they would not hold up today next to the ones Lego currently produces. -

There's a reason I didn't call out any user specifically. I am speaking generally. This post is borderline rude and belligerent. You have absolutely no right to tell me what I can or cannot like. If anyone needs to change their hobby, it's you so you can focus on learning some manners. This isn't the first time you've come after me because you didn't like what I had to say about the minifigures here, so clearly this is a very touchy issue for you. Sorry not sorry, but I am not censoring myself to cater to your needs when you lack basic respect and civility. -

I don't know why people are defending Lego for their shoddy treatment of Marvel minifigs and the lack of printing or dual molding on legs. Red Hulk is such a horrible minifigure and part of the reason is the lack of dual molded legs or any attempt to depict his torn pants. The X-Men minifigures all look cheap and unfinished because of the lack of dual molded legs. The minimal printing they did for Cyclops is laughable. With both him and Magneto, they didn't even bother using different colored hips. -

The Lego designer for the Daily Bugle mentioned Spider-Woman by name as one of the characters he wanted to include in the Daily Bugle. Everyone else was a Fox character so it made sense why they couldn't be included but not Spider-Woman. My personal guess is that just like they didn't want to include MJ, because she would clash with the MCU version, they also didn't want to include Jessica Drew because they've been promoting Spider-Gwen as the new Spider-Woman due to her popularity. "TO give you a few names I wanted Deadpool, The Human Torch, Iceman, Spider Woman - all Spiderman's buddy's. But Marvel also have to agree and some of the decisions to include or not include figures were up to them and like I said others we just didn't have the capacity to include." https://www.reddit.com/r/lego/comments/nej936/im_mark_stafford_senior_lego_designer_the_daily/ -

Same. While Anya has a similar costume, she doesn't have the white boots Julia has. They have completely different hairstyles as well. Julia wears her hair long and down whereas Anya wears her hair in a ponytail. The spider emblem on their chests are also different. Julia has a regular spider emblem whereas Anya has a much bigger emblem with the spider legs trailing onto her arms and legs. The minifig follows Julia's appearance rather than Anya's. I'm also thinking that this Julia minifig is meant to be an unofficial tie-in to Madame Web. I haven't seen the movie either so no idea who the character is actually supposed to be, but design-wise, she has Julia's look like you said. Now that we have the second Spider-Woman, I just hope Marvel one day goes back and gives us a new minifig for the original Spider-Woman, Jessica Drew. One that isn't a SDCC exclusive. I know she was also one of the minifigs Lego wanted to include in the Daily Bugle but they were forbidden to for some reason. -

It looks like Julia Carpenter to me too. But she really needed dual molded arms. -
