  1. The wait for official pics (or unofficial *wink*) is killing me, but those heads look great in a different light. Nice match for Flanders' torso too.
  2. Aaaaaaand it's gone. These 2014 YouTube videos seem to be dropping like flies...
  3. I actually don't mind them too much. Remember the Iron Man fig debacle? Glad we finally have some sort of visuals after a drought of Simpsons news.
  4. I think I'd rather see The Simpsons sets instead of a CMF line, but at least we'll be getting the house. I'd still want to collect the CMF series with Simpsons characters. I don't think the show is as popular now as it was in the 90's, however I think a lot if you might underestimate the nostalgia aspect. A lot of people in my age bracket (20-30) remember the classic episodes and lines. Waiting for pics of the figs is killing me though...
  5. It's funny, because even as a young tyke, I preferred 'everyday' sets. Post Offices, Restaurants, etc. Nowadays, though, it's a case of Classic Town = Creator Modulars & Friends, rather than Classic Town = City.
  6. I don't even collect Friends, but a News Van sounds good. I remember seeing prototype penguins in the Arctic pics in the old club magazine, so it's good to finally see them in one form or another.
  7. Completely agree. I think Farm was the most unique deviation Lego had in the City range for years, and I'm saddened that I was in my dark ages at the time and didn't get a chance to grab them. I think there's been a few interesting sets here and there since, especially in the Great Vehicles range with Car & Camper, etc. But long gone is the time of Restaurants & everyday living/recreational type sets, except in Friends. Anyway, I'm trying to move away from City and into Creator, so another bunch of Police sets means I'm not tempted to spend on City.
  8. Good point! Tonto's crow is with the Scarecrow in this series, so there's a precedent set for licenced theme/CMF part crossover...
  9. I originally thought Emmett's hair was the classic Lego man's hair, but on this Comic-Con poster, it looks like he might have a little quiff or something at the back? http://www.comingsoon.net/imageGallery/The_LEGO_Movie/large/hr_The_LEGO_Movie_3.jpg
  10. For me, these are all fantastic, aside from the Barbarian, Scientist, Lady Robot and Evil Mech, which all seem like tired repeats of similar characters in earlier series. Bavarian Girl gets a pass because of that new hair and cloth apron.
  11. Had anyone spotted the new Coast Guard sets at Target yet, apart from the Seaplane?
  12. I would love to see more work done on this. Especially with the release of bowler hats and other unique parts in the Collectible Minifigure line.
  13. It absolutely is. It's a great set, even at the RRP I paid. Go for it!
  14. Good idea Admiral Blockbeard, it does get a bit confusing to keep up with all the sales going on, especially this time of year.
  15. Did you happen to notice the shelf price of the Constitution Train, Lynx?
  16. Do Target still have 20% off Lego? It might be worth checking to see if they also have The Lone Ranger sets starting to appear.
  17. I'm not particularly a fan of complimentary characters (eg. male & female surfer). I'd rather see a new design of a different character than a repeated character. Sometimes I feel the complimentary figures are different enough to be interesting (eg. mermaid & Sea King) but most times it just strikes me as lazy. Either that or they have many unique ideas for different figures and plan to spread them across different series', interspersing them with repeated character types. To each their own though!
  18. I wonder if the Chinese factory soon to be opened will affect our RRP in a good way?
  19. The Series 10 Grandpa Minifigure's hair could almost pass off as Mr. Burns'. Just remove the comb over hairs on top and add some liver spots on the side.
  20. Argh, I'm dumb. Picked up this book from bookdepository.co.uk, for a nice AU$16. Just tried to remove the figure though, not realising there was a bit of sticky tape keeping it together, and ended up ripping the whole plastic bit out of the book, resulting in a torn inside cover
  21. Lovely looking set, I was already planning on picking this up, but these pictures further prove that this is a must buy! I like the little car too; something very old school 90's LEGO Town about it. I think it's the smaller scale and those little wheels.
  22. Has anyone got this? It looks like it might be quite a fun game for use with an iPhone, but I'd like an AFOL's opinion on it.
  23. The only naff thing about Town Square is that little street sweeper. Apart from that it looks like a fantastic set. Cool looking statue, nice bus (and I don't yet own a bus), couple of shops, and a decent sized crane that isn't too big or too small. Nice selection of minifigs too. Can't wait to get it! Any idea of a release date?
  24. Big W will have the Hobbit w/ Minifig Blu-Ray too.
  25. I generally skip MOC threads, but this was one that just grabbed me. Beautiful design in every possible regard.
