Especially AFOL’s, who a set like this is aimed at. Even a 16 year old wouldn’t have $400 to randomly drop on Lego.

I agree that the gates are actually more appealing to me than Rexy itself. Smaller in minifig scale dino, gates and Explorer = instabuy. Huge Rexy and gates, plus an AU$399 price tag = second thoughts. The only reasons we don’t have the Explorer by now that I can think of is that it’s either a licensing issue or it’s already a set planned for 2020.

Jurassic World 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
ChrisW replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
Really hope that’s not the case, but it seems likely from Lego lately. -
Looks like a ‘bad’ MOC would be more appropriate. The Ideas submission was so bright and fantastic. Looks like a lot has been lost in translation, when quite often, the official set improves on the submission.

I think Scooby managed to capture the likenesses quite well because the characters are more in proportion to realistic human models. Fred and Barney have big noses and heads. I do think if they weren’t prepared to print noses, as in the fantastic original submission, then they should’ve gone the moulded route, even if that wasn’t what’s been done before with Ideas. And speaking of a lack of new moulds, does that mean no Dino too? Some of those old baby dinosaur poly bag moulds from back in the day would even be fine with me...

Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
ChrisW replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
One of the best things about Lego City/Town over the years has been it’s strong basis in reality and real world equivalents. Sky Police looks to change that, not for the best in my opinion. Terrible looking sets, looking like a rejected Agents theme. But as a plus, we still have Combine Harvesters to save the line. -

Kind of disappointed the parachute looks like one of those ‘parachute men’ types that you get as a cheap novelty. I was hoping for a more rigid cloth version. -
It would, but I think the circus with animals is a relic of the past now, just about. I think it's unlikely we'll see a circus from Lego now.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
ChrisW replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'd put money on it. The movie's not out here till March, I'd be surprised if we saw the first wave before February. -
Regarding replacement arms for Stan Lee; are there any other single sale bootleg figs that have a similar coloured torso I could grab for the arms?

Amen to that. Strange as some new sets appeared on Kmarts website, but have now disappeared? -
Should make a pact that there be no more posts in this thread unless you have pictures of the set. The amount of times I check this thread a day in anticipation is getting silly.

That's a really good point actually. There's been no news of the next TT game, has there? They might be trying to push Dimensions and solely be working on that, with nothing else in the pipeline. I hope that's not the case though; while I enjoy Dimensions I also love the individual games like Jurassic World, Star Wars, Marvel etc.

Apologies, I don't mean instructions as such. -

This is really, really neat. I've always wondered why more people don't follow the in-build instructions from the Lego TT games. Are you going to do a build video for the Ford Explorer too? -
Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
ChrisW replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yep, his name is Justin Ramsden. Brickset has a feature at the moment that points to brick lists of different designers and the sets they've created. Looking forward to more of his creations. -
So I wonder which Cafe Corner will have better brick quality - Pogo or Lepin?

SY definitely dropping off the radar nowadays...

Do you want the Lego collectible bubble to burst?
ChrisW replied to Gomek's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think The Lego Movie was responsible for increasing the general publics' interest in Lego, and as a result, scalpers are in full force buying sets up for reselling when they go on sale (or even full price). It's a particular problem here in Australia, where we have limited stock anyway, and the sets don't end up in the hands of kids or AFOLs, but flogged on eBay etc at hugely inflated prices. So I do hope the bubble bursts eventually for this reason alone, but with several new Lego movies due out in the near future, I don't see that happening anytime soon. -
Has anyone heard anything more about the Wange Modular Buildings?

Strange that the Airport Battle hasn't show up yet. I also notice we're missing the Hulk Vs Ultron Micro set on shelves. EDIT: Spotted at Myer Sydney -

ChrisW replied to Darth_Legois's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Well, from my own perspective, I was able to purchase this set from TRU the weekend it came out in Australia (presumably). I didn't mind paying the $10 extra for the convenience, plus it saved me the hassle of having to avoid tracking it down at a Myer store or paying extra shipping from S@H anyway.
