  1. Thanks. I like that large window - and I really would like to update more. But as the title has suggested: the fortress will remain untouched for the time being
  2. This is sooooooooooooo great (and you know it!). Should I mention the differently coloured tree - just to pick one excellent element of many?
  3. Remington Rot .. at least not made of Steel. Great introduction - I hope to see more!
  4. "Bieber fever"? Just in time.... Fine series of builds, I enjoyed this!
  5. A decent solution to this challenge!
  6. Excellent build, I think it is my favourite from you. You can be very proud of this. Very beautiful, making efficient use of well fitting building techniques.
  7. Let's see - maybe I'll turn this into another picture.
  8. Thank you! Anyone to mention the monkey statue?
  9. Quite nice - sails look great!
  10. .. everyone noted the chandelier... Thanks The mason has tried to work with monkeys but they refused. They prefer painting. Thanks, I think this was made of more than 99 pieces, but I need to check (something between 200 and 300). Thanks - you said "ah" and you spotted the two-candle-thing Ok, could it be the Captain Soares has ordered the statue that is currently being built? .... and there must be a monkey somewhere... Thank you That prefab door piece has been with me for quite a while. It has siblings in grey and black. Its great disadvantage is that it looks poor from the other side. So, if you want things to be aesthetically pleasing you can only use this for outside or interior shots, not both.
  11. Thank you - there's got to be strange people in a tavern. The "turned green glass" was meant to look like a differently shaped bottle.... And they grey guy holding it was not able to turn around and look at the scene - not possible with that hairpiece...
  12. I hope so! Ok, feel free. (But I would build it differently now, if I was allowed to.
  13. Thank you! Did anybody mention the lantern design? A few hours. Let's see: I did the baseplate and the ground floor. (2h) Then the first version of the first floor incl. chimney (1-2 h). Then I changed the chimney (1h) and the railings and tried to make the animals stick to the wall (1-2 h). Next came the roof (very basic) which needed some stabilization element (1h). Design change: Then I wanted to have an real building, not just an interior. So I had to modify first and second floor (1h). Beer design, minifig selection and posing (1-2h) That seems to sum up to 8 - 12 hours, spread out over the course of a few days.
  14. Phantastic - great job!
  15. [ESL-FB2] The Mason of Pontelli We are making some progress in Pontelli - this will be an entry for the category "Artisan".
  16. Tall and strong and skilled and whistling the Mason of Pontelli is chiseling and when he's finished each one who sees it says "ah". Marty the Mason is instructing his son how to work on a statue that was obviously ordered by some pirate. Upstairs you will find some of Marty's other work. The rock on the left is yet to be turned into something decent... I hope that someone will note the chandelier... Pics are larger, better and brighter on flickr. (You may need to scroll down a bit.) C&C welcome.
  17. Excellent story and perfect pictures - great detail shots of the minifigs (posing is excellent!).
  18. 99 pieces? - interesting idea. And you got one of those good old moon baseplates.... Fine idea to use it here, works out well.
  19. This is going to be great! I strongly hope that they will create yellowish Beatles, not fleshy ones.
  20. Storage shack looks great - and good idea about that inventory check
  21. Brickworld Chicago - that sounds interesting. Best of luck! Fine variations of mushrooms in the background. However, for the rocky part I recommend to purchase a number of 1x1 slopes. (Which won't work because you will find that you need lots of other slopes too and then it gets expensive and complicated, but hey, you know what I was trying to say verbose: off).
  22. I've been frontpaged! Thanks a lot Thanks. I could not fit the octopus though Yes, there is a bit of gold in this MOC. The chandelier should be attached with at least three chains - otherwise it keeps moving forever when you touch the MOC. The explanation for the red mug is simple: He is in disguise on a secret mission!
