The exterior reminds me of the color ranges you can get off the exteriors of some buildings - specifically, the Seattle EMP building.

4 RCXs to control two trains and one car automatically

Why does the track need to be elevated off the floor? -
I'm thinking a pumpkin patch would fit quite nicely in that spot.

Good to see Lego has been making changes in the design of their airplanes. I got a couple of early airplane sets about 5 years ago, and things kept falling off - the engines, the wheels, the tail, etc...

Roundabouts 35-38,000 I think. I haven't really done a proper inventory yet, though I should...

Can you use your Rebrickable profile to log into Bricksafe? -
I'm excited about the Ultimate instructions. My 42009 supposedly gets here Friday, so I'll have all weekend to play with it!

I just hope that the whole thing becomes clearer to use. I really think Bricklink could use a more modern approach to web design...

Project: supercrawler
Phoxtane replied to z3_2drive's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
They've updated those now By the way, have you considered replacing the driveshafts with axle connectors linked together by 2L axle pins? It'd make them much stiffer and prevent you from twisting your current axle driveshaft. -
Discussion Topic: Should there be a 2 storey modulars series.
Phoxtane replied to Legoofmyleg's topic in LEGO Town
A 4 or 5 story building, perhaps even higher, could be done if there was no interior. That'd keep the price similar to the other modulars, especially if the facade was simpler to reduce piece count as well. -
Are you a member of a LUG? I'm a member of CoWLUG - http://www.cowlug.net Are you actively participating in your LUG? Yes and no - I go to the meetings and discuss, but I do not take part in most displays or LUGBulk, for reasons to be described below. Would you consider supporting more actively the online AFOL community (e.g. Eurobricks) as moderator, regulator (indexing, ...), making set reviews, etc.? I'd love to start making set reviews, but I can't really yet for the same reasons as I mentioned above... As for the reasons: Lack of funds, lack of brick, and the fact that Wyoming is so darn empty that getting to and from most places takes up enough time that I'd have to stay overnight in order to participate in the displays we do. I would if I could, but school takes up most of my time for a good portion of the year and I'm not comfortable leaving my builds for a few days when I can't easily replace pieces or minifigures that could get lost or stolen. This ties into a lack of funds, which is the cause of the lack of bricks, which means I can't really build anything that I'd be proud of displaying apart from a train car or two. The lack of funds also means I can't really get sets to review all that often anyway.

I like how the track deviates from 90-degree angles in the curves. I'll have to talk to my LUG about that next time we meet...

So they really are all sold out now? Excuse me while I go swear profusely and loudly on the back porch. I was really looking forward to pick one up!

I was thinking something like an automated turntable or transfer table [i know there's one somewhere around here, can't find it at the moment] where the locomotive is disconnected from the train, parked in its bay, and another locomotive is pulled out to replace it and pulls the train for a bit. That may be a tad overambitious, but it's certainly something I'd love to see done from an automation standpoint.

Vault-Tec approves of this MOC.

What about a system that automatically swaps out one locomotive for another after a certain period of time?

I'm worried that they'll run out of these before I can get one. How grounded in reality is this fear?

LEGO Ride on Train

Now you're just showing off. -
My guess is that the plastic is less prone to stains, tearing, and falling apart at the edges than the fabric ones. I've got a plastic sail off of one of the Artic-themed sets that's easily ten years old, and it's doing just fine.
