    No go there either. I’ve had to constrain my collecting to Castle and Speed Champions for space and budget reasons.

    That’s a great point, but I’m really considering skipping that one. I wanted to love it, but there’s something about the execution that falls short for me. Not sure what it is.

    Man, I hate that this is a GWP. There’s not a darn thing out right now that I want to spend $150+ on. Anybody have any experience getting a GWP on the secondary market? Are the prices usually drastically inflated? I would assume so, but have no feel for how much.

    That's a reasonable, if slightly optimistic possibility. The usual release pattern would say that we normally wouldn't see pics until July, but it would make sense that they might unveil it a couple of weeks earlier because of Lego con. For context, the Star Wars Imperial Light Cruiser was unveiled at last year's Lego Con, and released August 1 of last year.

    I think I owe an apology to the folks that were calling out the tease in the BTTF video. I was thrown off by the camouflage of old sets mixed in. Spending more time with it and the promobricks sketches has me convinced that the walls on either side of the 6080 gate are definitely from the new set. I think there’s a good chance that details like how the crenellations and windows are built are definitely on display in the video. Pretty cool.

    Dumb question: how exactly does the GWP system work. I’ve never actually gotten one. Is it online only? Or also at Physical Lego stores? Is it for a certain time period, or until they run out?

    That’s a good question. The hidden headlights were part of the RS package, which was available on Z28 and SS models. This new info is cool. The choose-your-stripe color option is great. Black with red stripes for me.

    While the appearance of the classic sword is a little odd, I think the picture is likely legit. Also noteworthy, the Promobricks sketch is EXACTLY the same perspective as the photo and many, many details are there in the sketch to interpret the subtleties of the build, which leads me to believe that the sketches of the castle are the same. Drawn over a photo, and many details are there that we can extrapolate build info from.

    Kind of a long, boring story. Ready? Here goes! last year when the Ideas Blacksmith and Creator castle came out, I was tempted to post again. I couldn’t get into my old account, so I started a new one. When it came down to it, it wasn’t the same without my old account so I never posted. A couple of months ago, I found it magically easy to get into my old account, and I started posting again. Earlier, my phone logged me out, and when I logged back in, it defaulted to the newer one and I didn’t realize it until after I posted. I fixed it, but that weirdo post remains. Mystery now solved. What’s it worth the long boring story? Probably not, lol.

    Wow, definitely a callback to the original for sure. I’m loving these sketches.

    I guess. I didn’t think that female pirate was poorly executed at all. Nor would I think a companion fig in CMF 23 (king or otherwise) would be “the most stupid marketing decision…”.

    That’s a fun question. Haven’t they lined things up like that before? I seem to recall some pirate CMFs coming out at the same time as the 2018 ship, which was the first big ship in years. My memory is. Little fuzzy there though.

    People are speculating that it can be closed together, and I think it can too. As a tribute to classic castle, all of the old ones did, and I expect this will be no exception. You were right on about those minifigs and I’m so glad you were. They’re really good and that many civilian minifigs is a real plus. Very exciting! You guys have me second guessing on the BTTF video. It would be cool if they worked in details. I’m just so thrown off by the 6080 gate.

    I can see that with the wattle and daub portion, but I’m sure color will dictate that similarity or lack there of. I predict this one will be mostly light bley with dark bley for the rock foundation. hahah!

    It literally isn’t. Both the description and sketches say this implicitly. There is some similarity in the path leading up to the gatehouse, that’s for sure. Thankfully, it’s not a rehash of 6080 though like the BTTF video. Also thankfully, it doesn’t appear to include the mish-mash of other sets. Ho-lee crap!!! This looks fantastic. I find these drawings to be pretty darn good, and if we’re not getting photos, this is a great stop-gap until photos are finally released.
