Kind of crazy how AI renders things looking smudged. Kind of fuzzy and melted looking.

Yes! I’ve been thinking the same thing. The camouflaged outpost is a prime candidate too. Maybe up-size it just a bit and see what curved pieces could do for a more natural boulder-like shape. Also, I just made my first improvement on this new set. Some blue cheese slopes really finish off the top of that roof where it flattens out for the hinge plates.

Got mine too! Wonderful build and the overall shape is very pleasing. A fitting update and it looks great next to the original.

Great article! It also shows a photo of the trap door in the courtyard that I hadn’t seen before.- 2,976 replies

Yeah what the heck? Even the original Majisto had a torso print.

All great points that I can’t refute. All I can say is that my little kid self didn’t care about those legit concerns one bit, lol.- 2,976 replies

Keen observations. While I totally appreciate your perspective, I must say I prefer the new versions. The “breathing fire” gripe is a fair one, but regardless of position, the new shape is just more pleasing to my eye.- 2,976 replies

I had both growing up, and I still maintain that KMF is an outstanding set. It and 6080 were by far the sets I spent the most time with as a kid. KMF is still my favorite, but that’s subjective.- 2,976 replies

Looking at it again, peeking under the armor, it appears that there’s something besides just red under there. Fingers crossed.- 2,976 replies

Not that I’ve seen. Lots of hope that it’s unique, but my gut tells me it’s a regular lions torso.- 2,976 replies

I feel the same way. For this reason, I have combed other themes like Harry Potter, PotC, CMF, etc. (even Chima had a good one) and converted them to nobles and common folk. Some good minifigs that translate well, starting with the ladies… https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?M=tlm037#T=P https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?id=114991#T=P https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?M=hp093#T=P https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?id=105485#T=P https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?M=hrf008#T=P- 2,976 replies

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
SirBlake replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That’s a great question, and probably one worth it’s own thread. Of the classic era, 6086 is surely the last great one. For my collection, which started with 6080 as a kid, I would offer that the Kingdoms Castle 7946 is quite good, if comparatively simple, and is made great when paired with Kingdoms Joust 10223, though I understand if that’s breaking a rule by combining two sets. Also, the new Creator Medieval Castle is still pretty great a year later. It would qualify as my favorite modern castle, especially when fully built out with all 3 of the builds. Again, bending rules here. But of course, the new Lions castle is going to win any popularity contest hands down for the foreseeable future. The new GOAT has arrived.- 2,976 replies

Yeah it seems like that half bley/half dark bley section to the right of the gate (when viewed from the back) is technically the back of the castle. This is the first hinged castle where the courtyard isn’t enclosed in a square by the outer walls. Instead, the courtyard is static, and kind of in the front of the castle.- 2,976 replies

All of this tribalism and argument has finally won me over. Make Lions great again! All you Black Falcon lovers are just woke snowflakes! Sad! /s Yeah, there some cool stuff hiding in there. I can’t wait to see the details of that courtyard.- 2,976 replies

That makes too much sense. Well thought out and level headed. But it does nothing to feed my bottomless appetite for more Castle, lol. I’d still love a battle pack of some sort. I could also see occasional reimagining of sets like the Forestmen GWP (though hopefully not delivered through that mechanism) Stuff like Wolfpack Tower or Majisto’s Magical Workshop or the Guarded Inn. With the revival and update of classic themes, it feels weird to recommend deviating from that direction, but I would also welcome fresh approaches, not just redesigning classic sets. An all new Wolfpack build would be pretty great since that faction is so under served.
-
Well I think it’s a fun idea. I’d buy it for sure. It’d be a nice evolution of the theme, though TLG seems to have different plans for revival.
-
It wasn’t when I ordered, about 15 minutes after it went live. Sorry, I know that isn’t much help.

It’s always good advice to be conscientious.

Funny how opinions can differ. I personally see this one as best of both worlds between “doll house” and complexity when it comes to the floor plan. It’s not just a simple square, lots of room details, just perfect.- 2,976 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 23. Rumors and discussion
SirBlake replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Great question. Could be something awesome like the mail vest on the series 19 Fright Knight, could be nothing.
