I really love the way this is going, but not sure how many years this would be away or if it ever gets past your own track. Also with ME Rails already being on the market there would be a bit of a fight, but overall i think you are on the right track making it more like model rail track. But one thing what could be a good easy start is just the Rail Ties, Like the above pic in yellow but just with the clips on to hold code 250 rail. I would by a few thousand off you so i could make my own as this would save me so much time scratch building as i am doing the same a garethjellis If i could just slide the rail though the ties and crate my own streights and bend for the layout i am doing.

If anything it is a Peppercorn A1 in that blue likely Tornado i don't recall the A1's coming in BR Blue

I have my whole layout done in ballast it is not cheap and takes a long time, I think i have about 100 bends and 170 straights done and about 10 switches. In the end it looks really nice, but would only recommend if u are really keen to finish the job, I think i have more bricks on my track than i do all the building on my layout.

I got into lego train about 7y/o now 32. and my two boys plays with my trains to and they started at about 12months they are now 4 and 6.

Yup I can go into more detail if people want, but this method can also be used for any pf motor.
-
I would say mix it up. I use 9v track + some of my own made track (nikel silver rail) I have my train with a 9v motor with internals replaced with the updated 9v motor that runs to a PF reciver so i can use the PF remove to control the train but it pulls the power from the track.

Nice work I did the same loco about 2 years back in 8 wide and 7 wide and single and double tender. And have been selling the plans well on bricklink. I have been meaning to print on mine to but always so many projects to get done and its still not done. Any tips on how you did it would be sweet. I was looking at the first pick and saying to myself mine looks better and then the pic with the printing wow it looks so so so much better. -
I am buying this 2moro to add to my sons other new Pirate stuff i got him. I am let down already :-) what is good as i was expecting something more from a set at this price. But it will make my son smile even if its a boring build for me.

I have plans on my Bricklink store for one. My white train has 6 normal and 1 sleeper and 2 trains. Running 1 motor but it does need 2. ahh its not on my store I will get it up when I get home from work.

Voltage input and output on 9v train regulator
Lazarus replied to toxicbananna's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I would recommend going to the older 12v controlers, they have 18v and 8amps. both AC and DC outputs. One of these controlers can run 4 9v motors at one given time on my layout. -
Fixing a 9v Lego train motor with a PF lego motor (Part 2)
Lazarus replied to Lazarus's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Ok bad news, no external differences between the two versions :-(. Kinda sucks coz I just completed my 2nd PF controlled 9v and it came out very clean and runs really well. -
Fixing a 9v Lego train motor with a PF lego motor (Part 2)
Lazarus replied to Lazarus's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Thanks about the pins I will look at that, should get around to doing stuff 2nite, kids and wife getting in the way :-). I know the casting of the top half of the body at least would of been remade or changed due to the above differences. I will also test out the PF gearing in this one to see if I get the same slipping issue i was getting with the other 9v motor. -

Fixing a 9v Lego train motor with a PF lego motor (Part 2)
Lazarus replied to Lazarus's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Well just did a bit of huntting and found this info what we all know and just think they are the same motor. So i think 10153 is the "uncommon" and the 5300-1 is the "common' 10153: Train Motor 9 V - Out between 2007-2009 5300-1: Train Motor 9 V - Out from 1991 with train sets -
Fixing a 9v Lego train motor with a PF lego motor (Part 2)

Hello All. For more info you can view my first thred but this is a bit of an add on to that Plus some extra stuff. http://www.eurobrick...=+fixing +motor (Story) I bought a damaged 9v off Bricklink last week as I knew I could fix easy and cheap 9v motors are hard to get. I opened up the 9v and PF motor as I have done 15 times already and start the fixing process. What I noticed was something that i did not expect, there was a diffrent internal motor. At a quick looks you cant tell but what I found just made my life so so easy. (What I found) So if you look at my first thred there was a comparison between the 9v internal motor and PF motor and how to modd it to make it fit into the 9v Case. And every motor I have done to this point have all been the same. But this 9v motor had the same internal motor external case as the PF external case. What this means is this version of the 9v motor you can just streight swap a dead 9v internal motor with the PF no modding needed. Pics below. On the left side is the normal internal PF motor on the right is this new what I am calling the Uncommon 9v as this is the first out of the 15 9v motors I have that is like this. We have two 9v motors above left is what I call the Uncommon and Right is the common, Only diffrance is the plastic (shell) just behing the gear as you can see it is the same as the PF shell where the common 9v is smaller and thus the 9v case it self is diffrent and the PF motor wont sit right as explaned in my first thred. ------------------ NOTE #1: I am also going to be looking closly at the outer case of the common and uncommon 9v motors to see is the is anything on them to tell the diffrance without pulling the motor apart. NOTE #2: I am also working on making it so I can run these motors off the PF remote and it drawing power from the 9v rail and no a Battrey box. I have made a protype that is working well, I am now working on a clean version that will have pics soon. -
I liky alot

No it wont damage the track, but you may need to glue the base plate you pull off back on.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 Rumors & Discussion
Lazarus replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
They have the classic TMNT look what is kool, and they are 15 years old. I have been looking at the spngebob figs they have been doing this year and last and they are better than legos versions bar the arm joints. I will be keen to see what they do with the figs I dont want any sets just figs. -
Not into the whole EVO stuff, I am going to end up going DCC with turtle motors for my switchs. But loving the smothness of the turnout, cant wait to get some cash to start on mine. All funds going into LUG orders and building a new table for the trains. :-(

I am still going NS due to how hard this stuff is to solder and the word or the street is it dont stay clean. So long term it might be a pain. But nice work just what i have in my head for my ones.
