Might just be another backer trying to make some cash. -
Love them all A+

A4 is ment to be less wide in the front and tapper out to the boiler. But the front black bits do need some work to get the line right. Its a hard loco to do as you know and it took me a very long time to get in right in ldd.

Nice work, Only thing i can say is it looks a tad bit fat maybe add a few more studs to the length. It might be just coz of it being 8 wide and not 7 like the one i did.

First bend done. Next one should be a bit cleaner as I now have this one to use as a jig for the sleepers. I found getting the shape of the rail was the easy part but getting the sleepers even and correct is the hard part.

i am a 9v man, this is why the effort is going into metal rail

Code 200 Gauge 1 was fine for the job. Huge height difference to the O Gauge code 143 rail its like 50% higher what is crazy.

9v all the way, and if you run some power pickups you can run PF of it all with no battery back.

Got a little bit of work done last night. The rails came and code 200 fits nicely into what i want. I have completed my test straight and a test bogie works perfect on it. Now I have the straight down I started to move onto the bend. So the radius of the bend is based on a 0 gauge bend so i am using it to create my first jig.

Hello All. I know ME Rails have almost got there track up and running but I want to go past just straights and bends. This is the very start or Alpha phase of this project, but I will update as I can but I suspect there will be looks of kinks on the way to iron out. First up, I got the main idea from a fellow LUG club member who has his own very long curve on his layout. Then I found this online where he may of got the idea from http://users.erols.com/kennrice/flextrack.htm So the base idea is not my own, but like I said I am going to take this to the next step, and that is Turnouts. Any one knows with long custom trains and tight bends its a pain, goal one was to remove any tight bends and goal two and create long turn outs. First up. I am still waiting/working on finding the correct rail I think I have the correct one but still waiting on the order. But i did get my Bricklink order though so I could start on the track bed. Below is the size of a single straight section I will be using. Two sections.

Ya prices are good on that site and thats heaps of rail for $50us, I am asking them how much the shipping is it NZ. Haha if this code 200 is no use I will have to move upto 250 and order a 4th set of track
-
Ta for that Gareth. Price is a bit on that G scale stuff :-). O scale was ok but it needed about 1mm height for the lego wheel flanges to pass free over the sleepers. I am going to try and do the whole layout in my own track so as long as the 5mm track is higher enough then it should be good.

P-SL600 - FLEXI TRACK Code200 [sM-32] Wooden Sleeper type, Nickel Silver just bought 2 for a test before i go all out and buy heaps. I just pull the rail of the stock plastic sleepers.

Sorry custom turnouts bends and straights, not customer :-/ I am over tight lego bends and tight turn outs my custom trains run like megablocks. So I am starting on a new layout with all my own made track and turn outs the works. I will still keep my current layout for shows and for my lego designed trains. I am going to make the layout look as realistic as possible and stay away from a lot of the bright lego colors also.

Sweet 6.4 mm that's what i wanted just bought rail that is 5.08mm high, so it should match up ok. I to move up to gauge 1 rail to get the height i needed so i hope it looks right. Was having issues finding the correct rail height in peco G scale. And i cant find Atlas G scale track in NZ. When the order shows up will be able to start work on my custom turnouts bends and straights.

Hello All. I am not at home at present and need to know the rail height of 9v/pf track in mm. Eg. Rail Height: 5.08mm Thanks Matthew

I know this maybe a bad thing for some of you who dont have this, I havw had my 2 sets since they came out. But on the bright side it could mean an up and coming train is coming.

The US and Oz tour almost cost the loco Its life, the dual tender was rarly used in the UK and was for the long trips in OZ and US it was used for due to lack of water avalible on the routes. Personaly the dual tender is the best looking out of all the difrent versions and there has been so many mods done over the years its not even close to the loco that came of the shed. If it is going to be a dual tender then you need to remove the Smoke deflectors as this version did not have them. There has become quite a few version done in lego now i did one about 2 years ago that is floating around this website. I would like to see some more other UK steam trains tryed, like a black 5 or a paciffic there is also the A1. I have already have a A3 in 8 wide and a A4 in 7 Wide done. -
bigfefi yes that should work fine
